Cantonment to Babughat , via shyambazar, Sealdah, Moulali

Dumdum Cantonment station is between Dumdum and Durganagar Station of Sealdah Bongaon Division. This station is very good and all the facilities are here. You can book the tickets for long journey from here. This is very old place from British era. You can buy everything from here whatever you want in a reasonable price. Communication is very easy. This place is connected with Indian Railways as well as with Bus route. Metro Railways is under construction. 30D Bus Stand is just behind the Dumdum Cantonment Railway Station. This place is also connected with Nager Bazar, Gorur Hat, No. 1 Airport Gate, Durganagar Railway Station, Sukur Ali More etc. with Auto Services. Toto services are also connecting with Durganagar Railway Station and others so many places. Dumdum Municipality, Dumdum Municipal Hospital, Community Hall, Mall like Piyali, City Life are also here. All these are surrounding with 200 to 300 Mtrs. radious of the Dumdum Railway Station. You can spend your evening with your children and loved one in Dhopa Pukur Park with LIGHT AND SOUND SHOWS which take place in the Pond (Dhopa Pukhur) with some snacks of famous Laltus Golbari. 30D Bus stand is located at Gorabazar adjacent to Dumdum Cantonment railway station. Frequency of bus is reasonably good, but 30D buses are usually not available from here after 9 p.m.

Mostly 30D and 30E buses start from here, taking us as far as Esplanade in central Kolkata. While the position is good (adjacent to the station), theres a lot of congestion because of the narrow streets. Plus, no dedicated bus stand can be seen anywhere, and theres not even a good shade on the top of your head (excluding the stations platforms, of course).But the position is tactical, for that its 4 stars from me.

30 D is one of the earliest buses to start from Babughat . I got mine at 4.30 am . It travels via Esplanade, Moulali, Sealdah ( halts a lot here for passengers) , then straight via Rajabazar, Khanna to Shyambazar. Then travels up Jessoore road passing RG kar hospital, Belgachia , Lake town, Bangur, Nagerbazar to Dumdum cant. Gear up for a 45-60 minute ride if the roads are jam free.
