Good place but unfortunately I cant entry into the park due to CIVID19

This is an awesome place to relax and do bird and nature photography. I went there with a friend during early morning in March to do bird photography and it was great. There were a lot of birds and a lot of greenery. The area is also huge and it gives a forest-like feel. The only drawback is that the lake is covered with algae and other vegetation and there is hardly any water left. Its a great place to practice bird, nature and macro photography.

Also known as Banabitan Biodiversity Park, this is one of the most famous parks in the city of joy, Kolkata. Abounded with a large variety of diverse floras, exotic migratory birds, gorgeous butterflies, fishes & a huge waterbody, this park is undoubtedly a paradise for nature lovers. This place is also popular amongst lovebirds, who come in huge numbers everyday. There is an entry fee of ₹40 per person, which I consider to be quite affordable, given the sensational natural environment and fresh oxygen, which you can treat yourself to, for excellent health. Highly recommended. 👍🏻

Central Park situated in Salt Lake is a public urban park. It is also known as Banabitan. It is the second largest open space in Kolkata Metropolitan Area after the Maidan. It is a favorite hangout for lovers.This park is easily reachable from the Karunamoyee Bus Terminus in Salt Lake. Central Park metro station and depot of Kolkata Metro Line 2 are located here. On the roads surrounding the park are the buildings where the West Bengal government has relocated many government departments.The park is built around an expansive water body. There is a bridge which connects on side of the lake to an island which has a pagoda. The lake serves as a haven for water birds like lesser whistling duck, common moorhen, egrets, cormorants and other species. There are also boating facilities in a cordoned off section of the lake near the rose garden.The park has a very beautiful rose garden (near Gate No.1, opposite of Bikash Bhawan). The rose garden is bordered by rows of hedges surrounding the rose plants. When in bloom, the rose flowers present a delightful sight.The parks butterfly garden has several species of butterflies. The butterfly garden consists of several plots where shrubs and trees on which butterflies and their larvae (caterpillar) feed, have been planted. Dedicated gardeners maintain these areas under the guidance of Nature Mates - Nature Club. The West Bengal Forest Dept. supports this initiative. The butterfly garden can be easily reached after entering the park from Gate No.1 and then taking a right from the main walking track.

Its beautiful, greenery. There has a small lake, in summer the air is so breezy. If you want to spend some private moment with your dear one, then this is a place!

It is very unkempt and has a derelict look with garbage strewn all around. The water body is choked 90% with unmitigated growth of water hyacinths. However, in spite of all that this park remains as the best alternative for the morning walkers of Salt lake.

Huge park. Lots of trees and water bodies. Most of the water bodies are covered with hyacinth. Cleaning seems to have started. Trees which had fallen during cyclone amphan in Apr 2020 are still down. Work on clearing has started.crowds of walkers, yoga enthusiasts etc throng in the mornings nowadays. I understand entry till 7 am is free. Tickets after that. But there was nobody at the ticket counters even at 0740. Notices pasted there are a year old.Saw more than one entry gate. The gates are newly constructed.Will post more as I explore the park.Update. The entry to the park is free till 10 am. After that they charge a ticket fee of Rs 40. Many flowering trees are in full bloom now. The only problem here in the mornings is crowds of homo sapiens. Some of them prefer loud music while walking. Others strew around plastic packets with gay abandon.There are spots where burning of rubbish is taking place. Hope the authorities take action against this polluting practice.In spite of all this, there are serene spots where people meditate or one can just sit and take in the wonderful atmosphere. There are trees which fell during the cyclone last year. They are still in the fallen state and thriving and providing support to other plants and animals. Its a unique situation- a replication of what nature would be without human intervention.

This is a large nature park created on the marshlands. Lots of trees, flowering plants, and birds. Be aware of the crows, they are exceptionally bold and can easily open unattended bags.

If you want to go to this park, you have to take it to Bidhannagar station, then you have to take bus / auto to Central Park.....This park is very nice for friends and relatives. This park is located across a large area. This park is built in a beautiful environment. I would recommend you to visit once.....

Good and green area for morning walk from 6am-9am its free. But after 10am-5pm entry price is ₹40 (highly overpriced).Parking ₹10 for bike and ₹50 for car. Ample space is there for parking and lots of greenary.But one thing is this place is good only for couples both illegal or legal😂 and pre wedding photography but not good for families n child be informed, bcz here couples are busy in sitting on lap and do adult works and even some are busy under umbrella as well.😂😂😂😂.Park is open every day. In English they call it central park and in bangla they called it banabitan park.

Good Greenery Park. Lots of migratory birds can be seen in winter. The Place Need to be Well Maintained.

Aplenty space surrounded by nature and awesome outing recreational facilities inside the park makes it a place to go. The Park also has a childrens park attached.

A big park at the heart of Salt Lake, Kolkata. Maintained by Forest Department, the diversity of trees and birds are noteworthy. Used for morning walk by local citizens, photoshoot by youths and angling by hobbyists the park has something for everyone.

It was nice experience to walking in this park. The area is very big to walk or jogging. The environment is nice to spend some nice time. You need a small amount of money to enter the park but it’s worthy. I think the best time to go there is evening time as you can enjoy sunset. You will be able to see many birds and trees as well.

Huge park, very spacious. Well maintained. The same ticket gives you access to the kids area that has a lot of swings and rides. There is a pagoda in the island, the kids enjoy playing there. There is a huge amount of biodiversity here. Many different species of plants and birds. We saw the Asian Open Bill Stork, Lesser Egret, Grey Pond Heron, Parrots, Spotted Dove and Small Cormorant !Kids and old people used to enjoy feeding fish here, there were some real big ones. BUT, the big fish have disappeared since they opened up for angling :-(You can carry food and water with you inside the park.

Central Park is not in good shape. Unhindred growth of tall grasses, bushes, lake fully covered with halycinth. Snakes are everywhere. Park urgently needs maintenance.

Awesome place to take a healthy walk with friends and family

The lake in the park is connected to a small island via a bridge that has a pagoda. Do try to visit this attraction. Though there is not much to do in the park, apart from relaxing or taking a walk, you can click some pictures if you are into photography. At sundown, when the sun’s rays reflect on the lake, it makes for an excellent subject for photography. Visitors can easily reach Central Park from the nearby Karunamoyee bus stand.

The park is good but due to lake which is not cleaned for a long time mosquito come like a hell when u sit

It turned into best enjoy to walking on this park. The region is very huge to walk or going for walks. The environment is excellent to spend some nice time. You need a small amount of money to enter the park however it’s worthy. I assume the nice time to head there may be evening time as you may revel in sundown. youll be capable of see many birds and timber as properly.

NICE PLACE..There this time I went for book fair.. There every kind of old kinds books here.. Many old verity and old books their in this book fair.. The seller of book comes from different kinds of places.. There also have many art paintings. I saw there many type of arts paintings like mordan arts.. For eat there are few stall in the fair.

I was missing to walk there during lockdown. Simply love the morning walk in the Central Park, Salt Lake

Huge park in the center of Salt Lake City. It has a nice green environment with a huge lake in the middle of it. The areas near the gates are clean and well maintained, while the areas deep inside the park are not that clean. It is a park mainly for couples. It can be easily reached from Karunamoyee bus stand. The boating service is no longer available. Entry fee is Rs. 40 only for adult.

A very Eco friendly place. Lots and lots of bio-diversity. Very good place for photography . Also many spiciest of birds visit this place every year in winter. A great place for bird watchers and photographers. Also a good place for fashion photography .And a very good place to spend casual time with your loved ones. This place is one of the local lovers spot.Also the entry fees is quite reasonable and pocket friendly. And videography is not allowed.

Nothing to say about the place. Everything is well maintained and equipped here.

Banabitan once a beauty has not remain a park which will come into list of good ratings due to lack of maintainence. Of around 3 Kms inside the park there is a Rose Garden, Butterfly Garden, a Lake, Small Bridge over the water place to do Yoga .... But as far as your view goes you will find things helter & skelter. Much of the things is left unattended. You wont be surprised if stray animal runs behind your back, reptiles and what not.On top of that this has now fallen into disrepute becasue of myriad instances in and around this place. I would not recomend Readers to visit with families and especially with young kids. Best to be avoided after dark.

The Kolkata Book Fair is very nicely organized every year over here. The park spans across a vast area and is nicely maintained.

Area is very good. But of you wise to visit with family then please dont came here. You or your family persons might be uncomfortable.If you with your frd or couple then this is the right place to visit.This is green place and you can take salfe and capture your moment. There are two sides of the park. One side of the park is not for family, but there is another side which is suited for family and in particular a very nice entertaining place for children. This children area is beautiful and full of greenaries and a calm, quiet place in the lap of nature. You can enjoy the beauty of this place while your little ones can play. Lovely place for couples .Huge area no disturbance.But entry fee is a little bit high RS.35 per head.

I visited the Bidhan Nagar Mela. Most of the stalls were of shawls, winter wears and saris. Ample food stalls and jewellery stalls were there. But the noteworthy stalls were of lamp shades and artifacts stalls from different countries. But the prices are on the high side. Furniture stalls were also there.

Great green and lung space in salt lake! It is open till 9 am in the morning. Closes for short break and reopens to public at 10.30 am to 5pm.

Located absolutely attached with Sector V metro st. this place is very large and during the book fair session so many people gather and shop their favourite items. There are two separate food courts during this festival.

The park has a lot of space, filled with trees and greenary, 4 stars because the 40 rupees ticket is a bit overpriced for this place.

Central Park or the Bio diversity park is located at Salt lake opposite of Bikash Bhavan... Well connected by bus , train and app cab. The park needs a lot of cleaning and other measures to keep its beauty alive and floated... Otherwise it will be ruined

Went here today and felt it is no more the well maintained park it used to be back to 2006, in my college days.But I would say it is still quite a clean park in salt lake where people can unwind away from the hustle bustle of the city.The plants and creepers have grown carelessly in many places (I dont mind as it gives natural vibe to the place).The waterbody is clogged completely by hyacinths. However unlike other parks it still have many large old trees that will still soothe your eyes and it is a nice weekend escape.If you have kid , just outside the park there is a childrens park well equipped with childrens swing , monkey bar ,slide etc.

This is fully covered with various trees. You may come to about some unknown plants. A silent and pleasent environment here .Couples can send such a good time here with their partners.

Karunamoyee Book Fair 2020.Best way to start this new year.Youll get any book here(all well-known publishers).The place or the area is very very big.The way they have distributed different areas for different kinds and the way they are presenting the stalls is par excellence.

It is near Karunamoyee Housing Estate. A wonderful place with park and lake. Mostly visited by youngers during the day. Morning walkers visit early morning.

It was a lovely, calm and charming place. Cool weather seems pleasure very much. I enjoyed the place very much.

2018 Kolkata Book Fair is being held on this ground and will probably continue to be the place for Kolkata Book Fair going forward. For the rest of the year it remains as the most famous park in the salt lake area. Many other festival and fairs are organised throughout the year in this place. Nice and well maintained place with ample communication options from all over Kolkata, Howrah and other places.

One of the Porsche area of Kolkata and its one of the best place to live in whole Kolkata region aquired by several tech industries parks and residential area where you can enjoy the serenity and essance of livelihood and can enjoy watching some of the celebrities house there. even times of india conducts many events for recreational activities there like happy hour and all. one can enjoy the scenic views of near by lakes for which this place is really famous for. also you can have perfect food junctions and residential area near by this park. you can come here for daily exercise and other healthy events the best time to visit this place is in the morning and in the evening people do use to come here enjoy here and then go back once they finish enjoying. it is one of the must visit place if you are out of the town or traveller.Never miss out the grand event happening there that is happy hour.

It was once the pride of Salt Lake residents, with fully functional exhibitions of butterflies, migratory birds, different plants. The fountains and other water bodies are now in a state of disuse. People have no sense of privacy here, you are stared at constantly if you are having an intimate time with someone. New gates are being built but the maintenance and upkeep of the main park is urgently needed.
