Good location. No generator though- electricity cut

Hotel rooms are big and spacious butits old not modern furniture, etc and needs maintenance. Location is good. There is nothing much at Khajiar to do except take a walk around the ground. Beware of monkeys. Hotel doesnt have a lift. if you room is 2nd or 3rd floor, you have to climb all the way. We, a family of 4 senior citizens stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Some people might find it difficult to climb. Food is good. Staff, especially, Preeti Chand was very helpful and was very quick in servicing. Good stay

Although hotel is old and needs renovation but hospitality and location are its USP. Very nice manager Mr Hemraj, Waiter Mr. Prithi Chand were ultimate friendly. Chef has magic in his hands. Tasty and reasonable food price.I recommend all of you to keep this hotel as first choice.5/5 rating.

A beautiful hotel run by hptdc is located at indian switzerland khanjar in district chamba himachal pradesh.hotel is in between huge devadar trees at some yard there is a beautiful meadow and a small lake is also here paragliding activity is one of main attractions and other children activities horseriding can be enjoyed here

The stay was great. The new property of hotel devdar is more better. It is very near khajjiar lake and khajjiar - mini swiss. The view from the window is amazing. The room service is good. The only problem is that theres a lil smell in the washroom.

This hotel is located at the Prime Location of Khajjiar. Though, its a govt. property but rooms, service and cleaniness is far better than private 3 Star hotels. We stayed in Super Deluxe Double Bedroom with Balcony, and view of Khajjiar Lake was awesome from its balcony. Hotel staff and Manager are so nice in behaviour and food is also awesome at reasonable price. My suggestion if you plan to visit and stay at Khajjiar, this hotel should be first choice.

Super delux rooms are very good and spacious. We enjoyed view from room itself. The balcony also provides excellent view. Food is good. Staff service is extremely good. The staff at devdar gives personal touch which makes it feels like home environment. They have arranged our anniversary cake at the hotel. Manager vikas Dutta is a very nice person. He was in constant touch with us since we reached Dalhousie. He helped us in reaching the hotel comfortably. He definitely helped in making our anniversary memorable.Must stay at hotel devdar and enjoy khajjiar.

Great stay, neat and clean hotel with tasty food

Location of this Hotel is superb

They have actually used Deodar / Cedar rafters in the building. A quaint little place on the edge of the Khajjiar lake, offering some brilliant views. The restaurant offers food on request. Try to get the rooms with fire-place, or, if yoou dont mind walking 750 meters through the woods, take the cottages. The staff may dissuade from the cottages though, so not sure myself.

Fantastic place and the best hotel to stay at Khajjiar. Panoramic views of snow-capped Pir Panjal mountains, mesmerizing views of meadows, warm and courteous hospitality, especially the Manager, Mr. Dutta is extremely helpful and friendly person. He went out of the way to help us even at late evening by organising a taxi for us to reach the hotel as the road from Dalhousie was closed due to heavy snow. The room service is also fast and good. The food is also nice and tasty. Housekeeping is also very professional and maintains the room shining clean. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and hospitality. If you happen to visit in March, not only you get good deals on room rent but also lesser crowd and snow too!

Best place to stay in Khajjiar. Opt for deluxe room for cottage experience. Deluxe rooms (6 numbers, distributed in two cottages) are located on the main entrance to the Khajjiar ground. Other rooms (except Khajji cottage) are located in the main building. Cottages are British era heritage properties with basic facilities. Other rooms are recently renovated and have all modern amenities. Khajji Cottage is far away from the main building and looked very isolated during the night. Would not recommend Khajji cottage for families with small children.

Great location, great rooms and prise

This HPTDC hotel situated very near to the Khajjiar lake. Hotel has big rooms with working heating and TV. Kettle for boiling water was not available and neither were the sachets of tea/coffee and sugar which are really useful when you are with kids. Restaurant was good with good options for food. The chef was kind enough to prepare food as per our liking. Bathroom was specialist but the only put off was the quality and cleanliness of towels. Even the bed sheet etc did not look clean.

Property is good, at the best location. Food is good too. But service is lacking just as in a govt office. People are there just because they are hired. Theyre not trained to do their job. You even have to beg for drinking water. There is no intercom in rooms. However people are very good and cooperative. Theyre just not trained.

This is a government tourism hotel so you can imagine how it would be. The location is superb, you see the whole khajjiar lawn and lake from your room. Food is good in the in house restaurant. Nice overall one night stay!

One of the best options available at Khajiar. The hotel is undergoing large scale renovation these days. Being a HPTC hotel, you can expect reasonably wonderful stay here. Staff is very helpful and cooperative. The hotel is strategically located and one can have wonderful view of Khajiar meadow from the rooms.

Nice place to stay in Khajjiar

If youre staying in khajjiar, this is the best hotel to stay. They are currently under renovation so theres not much to offer. However the hotel is too expensive even in the off season for the facilities they provide. Most of the items on their menu is not available. The biggest attraction of the hotel is the khajji cottage. However, it is not suitable for staying in winters as it becomes freezing cold and there is just not enough heating to take care of it. It really really needs renovation to make it possible to stay there. That is such a magnificent place lying in total waste otherwise. Also, the manager of the hotel is a very nice gentleman and really helpful.

Location of the hotel is awesome but hotel is under renovation so it doesnt provide all services.Upper rooms are good. But Its cottages are not comfortable to stay and having high charges as compared to the situation of the rooms.There is no intercom facility, one has to use its own mobile phone for room service. They are poor in house keeping services. Rooms were dusty during my stay. There was a powercut for the whole day and they had no power backup.Food was good. Staff was nice and the manager is cooperative, helpful and friendly. Inspite of this one cannot forget all bad things because we are paying high.

Hotel Devdar in Khajjiar, run by HPTDC, is best located to view the Khajjiar lake and Khajjiar meadow at the foothill of the Himalayas. Khajjiar (23 kilometers from Dalhousie, at the height of 6400 feet) is a crater formed by the impact of a saucer-shaped Asteroid, which came down from the east. This place is called Mini Switzerland because of its topographical resemblance with Switzerland. A Khaji Naga Shrine is situated beside the Khajjiar lake.

The hotel is the only good place to stay and eat in Khajjiar. If you are planning to stay in a calm and serene place, away from the bustle of the world, this is the place of choice. If you are planning to stay somewhere in Dalhousie and not Khajjiar, then you can eat here as this place serves hygienic food.

The valley in front of the hotel is awesome..Good food and good stuff..rates are bit higher but you will agree spend some more money because of the surrounded beautiful of valley.

I came here with a bike group and we really enjoyed the place. Location is wonderful, staff is courteous and if are a nature lover then there should not be a issue with the bit improvements this hotel needs. But the view from rooms and staff smiling face always keeps you feel special.would like to come here again

Single rooms need serious work. Taste of food could be improved. Limited staff. Single rooms separate from main building. Suite was much more comfortable with a wall fan above both beds. Recently renovated suites.

Its government hotel of Himachal Pradesh Tourism corporation so its not like other traditional hotel but are very spacious rooms and bathrooms are also very spacious and clean. They provide all basic necessities like room heater, water heater in bathrooms, etc. The best thing is that rooms are very close to Khajjiar lake.

Worst hotel ever been to oh! And not forget dirtiest. They dont even have an intercom in the rooms. Will give their mobile no. If you want to place an order for food or anything. Wifi is only available in the dining hall. They have newspapers stuck between the logs in the ceiling because its broken so expect to have a rain bath if it rains.Only good thing staff is courtious.

Location is excellent, direct view of the lake. Staff is polite and cooperative and food is good too. But the water in the bathroom is muddy, the rooms on the lower level and smelly. The interiors are not well maintained.

It got big cottage, you open ur door and volla the view is just breathing. The only issue its not repaired from quite a few places like some celling and floor is broken. However as this is a government property its still very well maintained.

Worst hotel I stayed so far. Their only livable room had leaking roof, stinking bed sheet, leaking tap. Had booked in deluxe, but downgraded to ordinary, yet no respite. Room rent is nonrefundable if paid online. Avoid it, till govt renovated it. BTW, Khajjiar is not a place to stay. Stay somewhere else and visit the beautiful ground.

This place is beautiful and the most best view from balcony compare to any of the other hotels. The hotel really smells of devdar tree. But the service is okay and sometimes not at the point.
