Its hard to find a good fast food for Indian cuisine these day in Toronto. This one is hidden near Staples. The fish is okay, sometimes I find it a little soggy. But the curry and spicy level is very good. The rice goes well with it. But the Papadum is very good here50 cents for one, sometimes I get half a dozen and bring it home to eat.The spicy level is good and crunchy.
This location is hard to find - but once you find it, there is a great menu of South Asian classics served in a space with ample seating. The portions here are great for the low prices, and there is an extensive menu to choose from along with daily specials and meal combos. The naan is baked fresh-to-order as well, and the family running the spot are very friendly and efficient at getting you your food. Great spot for a quick bite or lunch if youre in the Financial District!
They obviously dont want to serve non-indians...Gave me smaller portions with big chunks of bones instead of meat, only had 4 pieces of it (4th one is just the size of my little finger tip). Never go again... you cant do worse in PATH for $10. The flavour was just ok and they dont clean their garbage bin even when its full with multiple layers of containers piling up on top of said bin. Now have to find my 2nd lunch....
Good quality Indian food in the heart of downtown. Chicken Biryani and chicken curry are very nice and tasty. Lamb curry has a lot of room for improvement as the meat should have been cooked a bit more. Overall, place to try if you are looking for good Indian place in downtown
Food is decent but I am not here to discuss that.I witness a disgusting act by what I presume to be one of the managers/ shop operators. The floors were glistening from being mopped and a customer had a minor slip (but not falling) just as the manager walked in. The customer wasnt upset or anything and left actually. The manager, the short one with the ponytail and jewelry, starts shouting from the door loud enough for everyone to be disrupted and startled. He proceeded in the view of everyone to storm to the kitchen, grab the cleaner/dishwasher gentleman and made him come out like a child. Shouting in English and Hindi he proceeded to berate him and scold him in the doorway. All the female cashiers stood watching, from the from and customers equally staring from shock. Absolutely atrocious behaviour. I am not going back and I sincerely hope the manager reads this. If this is his idea of management with eyes open, I can only imagine the iron-first behind closed doors to workers. Gross.
Its ok to eat here for change but its not authentic India. They sell sweet chicken dish and call it butter chicken. They are always in rush. Their portion also not same always. I will recommend this place for good Indian food
Love the food for the price and definitely is the cheapest for the quality. As an Indian vegetarian this is my go to at lunch time. Word of advice, do not try the chole as it is on the sweeter side than the spicy one that Indians are used to but their naan and paneer curry is amazing
Quick lunch Indian/ Bangladeshi foods. They have goodYogurt drinks.
Three meat combo is the best deal. Excellent Indian food a reasonable price.
An Average indian taste, good variety. Halal menu. Reasonable prices. Go for a change of taste to eat Desi food.
Great shwarma and tikka wraps.
Curry lamb was great quality. Simple quick service -- just what is needed for lunch.
Used to eat there when working downtown.. its not that great.. there are better like Banjara for a good quantity of food at a not so overpriced
Excellent. Only complaint I have is that the portions vary in size depending on the person serving. But the naan is perfect and fluffy, the curries flavourful (try the soya!!) and the staff are very friendly.
I was told to expect food court style, and so it exceeded my expectations. Had lamb curry (bone-in) and spinach with papadums. Not remarkably spiced; but still spicy. Good service, portion size fine. Never been in this corner of the PATH; so a nice surprise. Lots of people were going by, so if you want non-chain food (and optional people-watching), try it.
Excellent Service and food!! Really big portions for the price. Best naan Ive ever had at takeout! Great options for vegetarians as well. A large naan with 4 veg is less than $10! The samosas are also very authentic, large and fresh! I could eat here everyday. Support local businesses and try out this amazing hidden gem!
They dont know how to cook. Tried once, it sucked. Thought would give them a second chance and it sucked even more. They chefs are not Indian or Pakistani (they are Bangladeshi) and I am not being racist, but they cant even fake North Indian dishes. Yukkk!!
Very bad customer service. Overcharged me multiple times - how can they have the audacity to not mention at the time of ordering food on where the extra cost is and then hand a bill for over $15 for lunch? If you want to be ripped - you should have food here.
Variety of indian food and shawarma at affordable prices. A little difficult to find out where it is. Once you are near the starbucks, enter the corner building and get down the escalator to the lower floor. You can spot it on right side, just in front of one of the king subway station entrances. The food tasted average but they have a few customizable options to choose from. Rice could have been cooked better.
Food is great! Space limitedStaff jolly. The chef -Tony is excellent.
Tried chicken curry, brinjal dish and Roti. Simple, fresh, home style cooking. Enjoyed the food. Decent portion for the price. Ambience could have been better.
There arent many fast food type places Id consider worth reviewing but the lunch here is fantastic. Id recommend the beef vindaloo with naan, your choice of side). The samosas are deep fried and I didnt enjoy them as much as I had hoped. I tried their kebob roll one day for a change and it was great. It can be busy but the line moves well.
OK spot for quick Indian. I live in Brampton and from an Indian family, know the food is just fair and overpriced - but enjoy more then Amaya.
Its an ok restaurant. Not a bad option when you want halal Pakistani and Indian food in this area.
Nice restaurant in downtown. Chicken Roll, Beef Roll & Biryani are all fresh and tasty. Almost everything will cost you $8 or more. The servings are large. Most of their customers are office workers and with that large sized lunch, I can guarantee all these workers are dozing off at work.Biryani is good. Love the fact that you can put a pint of curry on top of the Biryani. Prevents you from having a dry lunch. Beware: only have biryani if you dont have after-lunch meetings or it will be difficult to stay awake!Chicken Tikka comes with a freshly cooked and huuuuge Naan. And you can add your choice of vegetable or curry. Again, the serving is more than enough of a lunch for anyone.
Do not call it INDIAN food as INDIAN food quality is much better than the TOUCH restaurant food. As restaurant is operated by Bangladesh guys and call it themselves Indian CuisineDo not recommend at all and if I have to say one word for their food then that would be a word called GARBAGE.
Important: This not real indian food. The portion of food was good, they serve every person differently, good for a change if you want to try something different.Butter Chicken - fairDal - fairEggplant - GoodPaneer - fairBiryani - poorService and Cleanliness - poorOverall - 3/5 can be visited once a month, there is room for improvement.
Tea vending machine is down most of the time.. and they have stopped making in house too. if tea is back will give 5 stars.
Good food and nice people
The quality of the food is less than average and the quality of service is mediocre. They are super cheap with the quantity provided. The only reason they are in business is because there are no other Indian restaurant in the vicinity. Put one up and these guys will be out the door.
The food looks good from the outside and smell good from afar but taste and quality is very bad. my friends had to throw away the food as they could dare to continue
The food at this place is mediocre and the portion sizes for the price they charge is paltry. If you are in the vicinity and are craving Indian food, try only a pita wrap with kebab, as that is the only bang your buck can get at this food joint. If they have something special for that day, dont even bother ordering because they will put a measly amount in your box and will charge you an extra $1. Apart from this, youd rather not waste your time or experience dining at this place.
Call ahead! During lunch time it gets very busy. The food is delicious and I can rarely finish the entire thing.
Always nice and cheap.
LAMB CURRY BONLESS WITH NAAN WAS EXCELLENT
Gave this place a try atleast 3 times before concluding this is poor quality taste, foods not warm, and simply put quantity over quality. Definitely not Indian food, maybe bengali but sure begali taste better as well. Lets just say I had to wash the food down with coke.Need serious improvements!
This is what happens when you know how to cook. Every bite is an experience!
Food is not too bad but the Naans are always burnt. They need to clean their Tandoor as it probably has lots of coal. Quantity is average but the price is high (probably due to the rent). There are not many Indian places in the Path besides this, Amaya in First Canadian Place, and some other ones. Amaya currys are little better but their Naan is like a frisbee.
Good for concourse. Delicious Naan.
Naan is never completely baked, quantity too less for the price and they dont provide salad, etc in the Thali whereas the poster shows thali with salad, etc.Taste is fine, quantity too less.
Solid Indian food dt
I use to frequent this restaurant for lunch at least once a week. The prices are going up, the portions are getting smaller. I am still hungry after my meal and Im ~90lbs. Time to find a new Indian restaurant :(
Smallest serving size known to man
Good weekday Indian lunch..
