Wow!!! I am so glad my husband and I discovered this restaurant recently. It is out of this world amazing. All of the flavours are so vibrant and fresh. My favourite dishes are the Paneer Frankie, the Masala Toast Sandwich, and the lamb curry. Everything has been great, we cant wait to try more on the menu. This has become our new Friday night treat to ourselves, I highly recommend it.

I was able to celebrate Diwali with Bombay snack bar. They had a special menu option for the celebration which allowed me to try so many of their dishes. Each one was excellent. The service was wonderful as well. I also enjoyed their tea options. Everything we ate was wonderful. They were also very Covid safe.

Ordered thru uber yesterday. The Frankie platter. All the 4 of them were soggy. Hemant i am from mumbai and i know what frankie is. If you want to imitate the bombay style cafe, please perfect your recipe. The taste was no where closer to the frankie available in bombay. The waffle fries were not crispy at all.Want to try your bhuna but now scared that will be a waste of money too. Want to try the irani chai. Need to think i whould come by again to try the stuff.Just having a great menu and decor dosent inspire me. I am giving you an extra star just that i havent tried all and giving you a benefit to see if all other stuff is right or wrong. I would advise you to get those skilled cooks from mumbai to get your recipe correct. Lot of competition coming soon.

So, i was doing Uber and had a pick up from this restaurant. For some reason, it took some time for them to hand over the food. But the manager (I guess) and staff showed a lot of hospitality and they said sorry for the delay and gave me a complimentary drink. I also noticed the manager gave complementary dessert to their customer (idk exact reason). The way they treated their customer was fab!!! I didnt tried the food but Im sure this restaurant deserves a visit for such a great attitude. 🤠

I was honestly looking forward to eating at the bombay snack bar given the 4.5 reviews. I took a leap and ordered a bunch of my favorite dishes and unfortunately my order was a complete disaster. I made the order with Uber eats. Here is what went wrong:1) I had asked for the vada Pau without garlic/green chutney as those give me acidity and no one clearly read the instructions because the vada Pau came with them. Once I attempted to remove as much of the sauce /chutney off the bread as I could and started eating it, I noticed that there were big potatoes peels in the vada Pau filling (I have taken pictures). I ended up throwing the whole thing out. Im okay if the company cannot make exceptions to an order due to volume but please make it known to customers so they dont bother ordering it or cancel the order. There really isnt an excuse for the potatoes peels mixed in the filling, thats just poor attention to detail.2) My railway lamb curry did not come with the rice as ordered. They simply forgot it so I had to make rice.3) The chilli chicken Frankie and the Schezuan Frankie tasted exactly the same. My guess at this point is that they once again messed up the order and gave me two of the same Frankies.I did want to note that the flavors were mostly good. The sev puri was delicious but the sweet sauce was very watery. Overall, after spending an upwards of 100 bucks, missing rice, the vada Pau disaster, Frankies the taste the same, its safe to say that I wont be dining here again.

The perfect “Pav Bhaji”. For those who don’t know what it is “Pav Bhaji – a spicy curry of mixed vegetables (bhaji) cooked in a special blend of spices and served with soft buttered pav (bread bun shallow fried in butter)” I had Pav Bhaji twice from this restaurant as I am so satisfied with it. For all the Mumbai food/Pav Bhaji lovers this place makes It exactly how it’s served in Mumbai. Same exact texture and consistency. Of course, the spice levels could be asked to increase if you like it spicy. Hats off! Finally found the place for my “Pav Bhaji” cravings. (I was so hungry I couldn’t get the photo, definitely will get it next time since I am not gonna stop ordering it). Last but not the least, staff is extremely courteous and do make some great recommendations if you would like to try something else.

My wife and I went for a meal here and it wasn’t a great experience.1. The menu was a piece of paper which had food stains on them and a bit crumpled. Not sure why they couldn’t just print new menus.2. We ordered our drinks as soon as we sat down and it took about 10 mins for just a lime soda and a mango lassi.3. As soon as we got our drinks we ordered a vada pav and a chicken chilli frankie for myself and a chicken biryani for my wife. I’m not sure why each item we ordered came at a different time (we did not ask for apps and mains).4. Though the Vada Pav was good, the Frankie tasted so bland. I didn’t care and ate it as I was hungry.5. My wife kept waiting just to be told that Biryani takes time to make. It took about 35 mins for the chicken biryani and it just tasted like tangy tomato rice with chicken. The chicken was boneless (which was ok, even though not mentioned in the menu) and consisted only the white meat. $18 for that biryani was absolutely not worth it.6. The restaurant was empty and we were the only ones. Nor did I see the kitchen being busy with take out orders. We normally don’t complain as I’m a hospitality personnel, and understand the situation restaurants are facing right now. But we should have been informed earlier that it would take time and we would have ordered something else.We paid our bill and wanted to give a feedback that the food took too long and didn’t taste as good, the server said that there’s only one chef in the kitchen he started making biryani after making everything else and it takes time and asked if we wanted to talk to the manager. We didn’t think we’d get a different response and just walked out.

Service:Lukewarm - our server initially didnt seem too keen on serving us. We were in the patio setting, just me and my friend and service was on the slower side.My water glass smelled funny (of food) - I am guessing it wasnt cleaned properly. It was replaced after we pointed it out but the server was grumpy almost all the while. There was a cross against Beverages and when I asked if they werent available, the response was a curt no!What we ordered:Pav Bhaji - the pav was delectably buttered and the Bhaji too was fairly good. A bit on the tangy side but definitely good. If they are squeezing lemon juice before serving and thats why its tangy, maybe they should serve it on the side.Chicken Berry Biryani - it was okay, nothing great and the chicken could have been cooked better. It was white but definitely needed another ten mins of cooking. Portion size was fairly big. Took a long time to come out.Mawa cake with Rabdi - I have never seen this in Bombays Irani restaurants but it definitely seems like a nice idea - more restaurants should do this. However, the quantity of Rabdi is just not enough for the cake so while the cake was moist at the bottom, the rest of it was d-r-y. A suggestion for more rabdi either below the cake or on the side.Sweet lime soda - fairly good.Overall:The restaurant looks like itd struggle with more patrons but wishing them the best. Might visit again.

Ordered through Uber eats. Aloo tikki, chilli chicken Frankie, chicken puff and a pop.Out of which pop wasn’t there. Aloo tikki had no sign of sweetened yoghurt like they mention on their site. Chicken puff had chicken which didn’t seem fresh and was a little smelly. All this is after I specifically mentioned in the notes that please let it be good as we are ordering for Iftar. Eating after 14 hrs of fasting all one expects is a wholesome meal.We didn’t try them for the first time. We have had amazing experience with them before. They had pretty nice samosa and puffs before. But I guess like any other food place, once they gain on trust they start pulling back. For sure never ordering again.

Ordered the Bombay sandwich chilli chicken Frankie and Szechuan Frankie.Overall I would say the ingredients they use for the food are good but I doubt the recipes were made keeping Indians as their target market in mind. The Bombay sandwich was good but the chilli chicken Frankie was confused. Chilli chicken is supposed to be soy sauce based with garlic and ginger with the zing of vinegar. The filling tasted like a regular chicken curry made with onion paste with turmeric red chilli powder and coriander powder for flavour. It tasted good but disappointing since I was expecting chilli chicken. The Szechuan was disappointing as well because it was like a ketchup dominant spiced sauce topped over the same filling as the chilli chicken roll.Having being born in Mumbai it lacked the flavour I craved from home but overall decent food if you’re looking for general Indian food but don’t know much about it.

I had a Paneer Chilli Frankie and a Szechuan Vada Pav. Very filling and very Bombayite. Both were phenomenal and I took a trip down memory lane to Bombays Khau Gully.Really authentic stuff and cant wait to try some of the other street food on the Menu. Just one suggestion on the Vada Pav. Although the Pav was as close to the real thing, it would be ideal to leave the Pav as is without splitting the Pav. In doing so, the Vada spills out on both ends of the Pav which makes for messy eating. Highly recommended this lil gem in our city.

They left us waiting for 25 mins after we inquired about our order!!The food quality was bad, the kebobs that we ordered had blend of all masala to it, and no taste otherwise.Lastly, we ordered tea and the cups were dirty and when we questioned our server about it, we were told that those are tea marks and they stay on the cups but being an Indian myself I know that that’s not true. Especially during times like COVID they need to be more careful and take serious cleaning actions.
