We went for a patio dine-in. Ordered Dal Tadka, Veg Korma and Chapati. Our friends ordered Veg Madras which we tried as well. Overall, the food was good. If youre vegan, youll need to be extra communicative on ensuring the items dont have dairy in terms of sauces in the curries mainly. The naan uses yogurt/milk (cant remember), so its better to go with plain Chapati (they might put butter on top otherwise - just check). The staff was good and friendly. Parking might be an issue since theres only street parking around.Definitely to be tried.
This is a small restaurant which serves Indian cuisine (completely). I had Lamb Rogan Josh and Butter Naan. The Rogan josh had well cooked but not so spicy Lamb (you can ask them to make yours spicy). Even though the Rogan josh had a good number of lamb pieces some were hard. Also I would appreciate if the josh had more gravy in it. The butter naan was thick and fulfilling. The place was not crowded and was peaceful.
I am a 50 year old Indian Woman. My mother is 86. She is one of the best Indian cooks there is. I have had amazing Indian food my entire life. And I can say that this place even impressed me. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. I took some dishes home for my mom and she enjoyed them too, which is really saying something. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food and hospitality. The server was so friendly and accommodating. Absolutely love the chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken and the naans are so soft and fluffy! Best naans in the city. Brought home lamb biryani to have to for lunch the next day and it was absolutely delicious and stayed fresh even the next day!
Love to see when owners are involved in the operations and do care about business and customers. We were in the area and thought of trying India food. Me and my wife are from India and rarely tried Indian food in the restaurants as most of them disappoints. But this one was great -- Food portions are great (One curry would easily satisfy two people)- Food was really tasty (I mean I cook at home and I owned a restaurant before)- Prices were reasonableAdvice to management- Stick to what you are doing and pandemic would be over soon and you will fly high.
Really great experience. The naan was incredibly tasty and the waiters were very friendly, quick and helpful. Will definitely visit again. We ordered vegetarian corma and saag paneer, both were really flavorful and came in huge portions (we were barely able to finish our meal)
Have ordered delivery multiple times. Food is brilliant. Possibly the best Northern Indian restaurant at downtown. Fresh ingredients, cooked with care. Please keep up the good work.
The staff was amazing, such sweet servers! The food was also very fresh and delicious. My new favourite place for Indian food!
A good Indian place overall. Ordered butter chicken and lamb RJ. Flavor was great for both, although my only mild criticism was that the meat tasted a bit unseasoned. Butter naan was excellent, and call in to order and avoid the middle man! Will return for seconds.
Unbelievably good Indian food. Lovely owners. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but try the Goan fish curry! You’ll lie awake dreaming about it at night.
I was blown away by the food from here. Best Indian food in Toronto! So flavorful and delicious! The lady who answered the phone was very sweet and gave great customer service. Would highly recommend! One bonus is they have their own delivery person so you dont have to use one of the 3rd party services.
I tried Keema and naan. Both of them cooked to perfection. I live in Brampton and it has some great Indian food restaurants and the food at Haldi was really good in comparison to some of those. Highly recommend. I also got some butter chicken and naan to go, cant wait to try!
Delicious. Really really good. Familiar dishes that don’t taste generic. Made with fresh ingredients. Thanks so much to the chefs. I’ll order again soon.
Haldi was very good and the staff were quick and friendly! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for Indian food downtown
Probably the best Indian Food in Toronto. The spices are used in a way to enhance the flavor of the core ingredients without overwhelming the consumer. And this feedback coming from a person of Indian origin with a discerning taste and Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management & Catering should count as an extremely positive review. Kudos!
Tried this new gem on Parliament street. Honestly amazed by the food quality and the taste. We could feel the freshness in the food and could guess that there is a professional chef in the kitchen creating those delicacies.Definitely worth spending $$.We tried1) Tandoori gobhi2) dal makhni3) veg korma4) Garlic naan5) shikanjwi6) chaiAlthough they are new in the market I can already see them rising to the top.Tough competition for Butter chicken factory for sure.Keep up the great work guys.
Great Indian food . Loved the paneer tikka
I am my office colleagues were working till late and decided to order some Indian food from Uber Eats. We decided to order from this place looking at its very high rating. The packaging was really good. We ordered tandoori gobi and malai paneer tikka in appetizers. Tandoori Gobi & Paneer Tikka both weren’t grilled properly. In drinks, we had Mango Lassi. Others liked it but I felt it was too sweet. Now coming to the main course, we had Paneer Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer with some bread. The Saag Paneer Curry had very less salt. It tasted good after adding the salt though. Finally, in desserts had their Rasmalai. I guess that was the best thing about the meal. It tasted so good and just melted in my mouth. Overall, I would say the experience was pretty average. There were some ups and some downs.
Great customer service and food is good too!
Excellent quality food :)I have tried few dishes which include sabudana vada, Samosa (authentic taste reminded me of Mumbai samosas), chicken Tikka Masala with fresh butter naan ,had amazing experience so far, if your are looking for authentic Indian food must give it a try. They provide excellent service.
This is my go to spot! I get a take out every once in a while, and this is hands down one of the decent Indians restaurants that will bring you a taste closest to anything dish in India.A Must - if you enjoy Indian food ❤️
Update (a week later, I may have a Haldi addiction) - just tried the Suppli reusable take-out containers and they work very well. My chicken tikki masala and baingan bharta were hot when I got home 20 minutes later. Costs 99c to use.My new favourite! Tried this place today, my order was right on time, piping hot and delicious. Portions were generous. Staff was super nice when I picked up. I will definitely be back, and will try the reusable Suppli containers for take out - such a good idea.
Loved the food guys, moderate prices but yeah food was great! See you soon
Good food. Good ambiance.
This place is great! Food is pretty good. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about the customers & also really friendly. It’s the cutest little spot with amazing Indian food.
Amazingly delicious food and love the low waste container option!
Last week we picked up onion bhaji, Chicken Madras and Saag Panir from Haldi restaurant on Parliament st. Everything we ordered was delicious. I could not wait to try different items so I went back 4 days later.Every thing I tried was delicious.Person working on the cash was really helpful.Thank you.
I ordered several things among them I really liked the flavor of the tikka massala, the basmati rice and the garlic naan, service is very good waiting time 20 minutes
Really terrific experience! Ordering by phone was easy, pleasant, and efficient and our food was delivered promptly by someone just as friendly! The naan, eggplant curry, chickpea curry, and rice were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this takeout option to anyone. A really great addition to the neighbourhood! Can’t wait to try other dishes.
Amazing! We had the Chicken tikka masala and Goan fish curry with rice and butter naan. Both dishes were fantastic - super flavourful, the right level of spiciness/heat, and good quantity. One of the best restaurants in Toronto and my new top choice for Indian food.On top of the great food, the service is excellent. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.I will definitely be going back to try more of the menu.
Had one of the best meal in the Toronto after so long. Staff is so polite and welcoming. Hope would be able to eat at restaurant after this pandemic. Good job Team Haldi and see you soon.
Fantastic!! Ordered the Rogan josh, garlic naan and samosas. The young lady who took my order and cashed me out was really nice and friendly. Definitely had that welcoming vibe that is nice to see in a restaurant. And the food was immaculate. The moment I tried the naan bread I knew I was in for a treat. The Rogan josh was full of flavour. Probably the best Indian food I have had in Toronto yet. Well done!
Fantastic Mothers Day take out, really delicious, not only for special occasions, great Cabbagetown option!
Amazing food, great service. Loved their Veg and Chicken Biryani. Also dont forget to order their Tandoori wings. 👌👍
Was craving Indian food. Ordered Biryani and Tanduri Wings today, must say it blew my mind. 10/10
Indian food the way Indian food should taste! Great flavours and amazing service! See you soon!
Delicious. Definitely looking forward to trying all the different dishes!
Nice presentationTasty biryani
Best ever Lamb curry (Lamb Rogan Josh) I enjoy in my life. I am thankful to Haldi Restaurant for such a delicious meal. In addition the quantity was remarkable which is really appreciated.
Do yourself a favor and order from this lovely restaurant in downtown. The food quality is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything i order melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal I had while in toronto after long time. Mutton keema is Highly recommend!
Excellent! Such lovely kind people and wonderful food! I hope that others will buy dinners here , to keep this great but tiny reaturant.Alive and well !
Got take-out chicken korma and garlic naan for ~$20. I got there a bit early but my order was ready. The man who greeted me was very welcoming and urged me to let them know if I had any complaints. Everything was hot and fresh. The naan was just the right level of crispy vs soft. The korma was a good portion size, at least 2 meals for me, and not stingy on the meat. Sauce was exactly what I wanted, creamy and just the right level of spicy. I say that as a weak white woman so people who like spicy will find it mild. :) I will definitely be going back. Check them out so they can survive the virus!
4 stars for the tasty tandoori chicken and friendly, professional serviceSadly, I am not impressed at all with the tiny portion of my order. I ordered just the tandoori chicken itself (which came out a little over 11 dollars after tax). There are only 3 pieces of chicken and one of them has way too many bones and not enough meat and the other two pieces arent exactly plump or full of meat eitherAll in all, their food is tasy but keep in mind of the tiny portions
Superb place in this neighbourhood to enjoy Indian food.
Definitely a must try to satisfy your Indian food cravings. Tried their Tandoori Roti, Saag Paneer, Fish Tikka, Tandoori Gobi, Goan Fish Curry, Rice and Daal Makhani. All the dishes were delicious, fresh and mouthwatering. And what tops the list is their Kulfi - it has the same taste or even better (NOT KIDDING) to the one i had back in India.
Ordered a variety of curries, Samosas and other shareables. What can I say, other than everything was fantastic. We will have leftovers for a couple days, and all for a very good price. Will definitely be going back.
Best Indian food in TO
I love the food, service and quality that Haldi provides. Best Indian food I have had in a long time, so glad its around the corner! Not too oily and sooooo yummy.
Ordered butter chicken and was surprisingly good. Was low on oil and high on flavor. They did land up messing up the order and forgot the paneer kulcha, but will try them again.
We went to Haldi a few weeks ago, after searching online for Indian restaurants with good reviews. The reviews didnt lie - the food here is delicious and best part is, its not covered in oil. When we went to pick up the food, we met the owners, who really went out of their way to make sure we were happy with their food & service. Will def be going back!
Delicious food. Loved the quality. Cant wait to dine-in, as the ambience seemed very nice as well.
Tried the Butter chicken, but was not impressed. It really isnt butter chicken. Didnt like the fact that too much sugar was added and it tasted more like Tomato Ketchup rather than Butter Chicken, which is supposed to be rich and creamy.Otherwise, Owners running the place are great people. Maybe the Butter Chicken was hit or miss, and based on the ratings, the other dishes could be worth trying.
Very fast and efficient take out service never lets you down. Owner is very friendly and makes delicious food for you.
Great taste!! Must try Lamb Biryani...
This was some of the best Indian food I’ve had in years. My partner brought home a lunch special to share , just to try this place out . I will be ordering Indian from here from now on based on how delicious the lunch was . The butter chicken was the perfect mix of sweet, spicy and creamy. Everything was fantastic ! He said they were also extremely friendly when he picked up the food. Prices are very reasonable too. Can’t wait to order a full dinner as soon as possible. Glad we live close by !
My son in-law brought this home tonight.Absolutely delicious! Best curry I’ve had in ages!Highly recommend! 😋 yummy!
I tried this place for the first time yesterday. I have lived in the area for just about two years but have never been here before. I would have to say that this is the best Indian restaurant in the area, and maybe even in the Downtown Toronto area. Trust me, try it! Specifically recommend the butter chicken, dahi puri, tandoori chicken appetizer and the GARLIC NAAN
One of my top eats for comfort homestyle food in the city...Its staple, rustic style and robust yet flavours hit your palate!
Absolutely amazing restaurant . If you’re a foodie you will truly appreciate this place . No more burnt pan/oil taste , fresh to order , vegetables done right , Vegan options available. Anything you see with dairy just ask them to switch with coconut milk . It’s that simple . Perfect balance from sweet to spicy . Nothing is bitter . They truly respect the process of cooking and you will not only taste it in your pallet but feel it in your mouth . The southern Indian cuisine here is a lot more Suttle , balanced and although packs kick and big flavour it’s not that crazy spicy pungent experience you have associated with Indian cuisine . You have to try!
Very tasty food at a reasonable price and big plus for offering Suppli reusable containers! (You have to register online first.) Itd be nice if container drop-off is also available. Anyway, still one of my fav take-out places in the neighbourhood.
Picked up food from Haldi and it was amazing!! Super good, best Indian ive had in a long time. Thanks for such a good dinner. Need to update your prices on your website, as I was charge higher price for one dish compared to what is on your site.
Wonderful flavourful food, and super nice staff. The samosa chaat and daal are my new favourite things. I also love that theyve partnered with Suppli to serve everything in reusable containers!
Absolutely delicious food. Excellent service and all Covid precautions in place. Highly recommend for pickup or delivery! You won’t be disappointed.
Delicious, friendly service and reasonably priced! Definitely recommend it
I ordered veg koorma, onion bhaji and samosas. The samosa is average. Onion Bhaji the quantity is very less. The Veg koorma is pathetic 0 rating out of 10 (Its very sweet in taste). Well I understand different people have different preferences but there is not point in assuming. Its very sweet. They should have made it slightly (even then its pathetic) sweeter and if some ones wants to they can add sugar anytime. After tasting one spoon I just throw the rest. Will never order here again ever. I dont understand if you are gonna make the item sweet then why in this world are you asking for spice level when ordering.
Delicious food and friendly service!
Just ordered lunch from Haldi! Was absolutely delicious. Will definitely order again. The lentils were my favourite, my husband enjoyed the tandoori chicken.
Wow wow wow! We ordered from this place on a lark as we were trying out Suppli. Which if you dont know about it, you should! It lets us support local without worrying about all the waste that comes with the excess takeout containers. Who else has a 5 ft tall pile of black takeout containers at home?Haldi is such an amazing find for us. Quickly has become our fave Indian spot. Their gravies all have distinct flavour with a good kick of spice. Fave so far have been butter chicken, garlic naan and baingan bharta. My mouth is already watering thinking about our next order!
I’m so so sooo in love with this place, it’s my new hot spot for Indian food! Love the food and the owners are so nice and professional always make me feel so welcomed! Thanks for such a good birthday party we had a blast and everyone loved the food. Will be back soon
Very good, need more spice!
Amazing food, we tried Chicken Madras with rice and Reshmi Kabab, Amritsari kulchaCurry was creamy but not that heavy with tender chicken pieces.Kabab was juicy and Kulcha was deliciousalso enough for 2 people. And the homemade Kulfi, .... sooooo creamy! That’s a must try
I visited this restaurant for first time and ordered butter chicken and naans. Both were good in quantity as well as quality. I recommend this place because of their food and hospitality. Regards, Devyan/Anita
Excellent food, and excellent service. Our meal was piping hot, authentic, and extremely flavourful. The staff were so lovely and it was obvious the care and pride they take in their food. Will definitely return.
Best Indian food in cabbage town! I am so glad to finally have a place that serves authentic and tasty indian food.Recently, these guys started new tandoori chicken wings which is outstanding!Kudos to the team!
Was really craving for good butter chicken in Toronto and happened to bump into this delightful surprise. Worth every penny.. Ambience, service and food quality is top notch.. Would definitely keep coming here. Highly recommended!
Delicious and Tasty food.
Amazing food ! Great Service! Must try
Amazing food! Friendly owners.
I love this place, their hospitality and more so their onion bhaji 😁 reminds me of home.
Best indian we have tried in toronto....highly recommended!
Ordered the saag paneer, lamb vindaloo and tandoori wings tonight for takeout. All of it - delicious. The Saag paneer was the most flavorful dish saag paneer dish Ive tasted. Amazing quality and price.
Ordered vegetable Biryani for 7-8 people (half deep dish) on my birthday and all my guests loved it. I mean literally all my guests actually asked me where I got the Biryani from and I was delighted to share with them the establishment name.If you are looking to host a party at home for 7-8 people or even for 15 people, you can call up Haldi and ask for different catering options based on your budget. Kudos guys!!! Keep up the great work.Just a recommendation - Please add catering menu too on your website.
Yummy!! I ordered a few items and everything was perfectly seasoned and not overly spicy, it was the right level of heat:Butter chicken - creamy, spicy, flavourful, generousNaan - buttery, perfectly chewy, deliciousOnion Bhaji - crispy, creamy, yummy,Samosas - perfectly delicious with potato and peaProbably the best butter chicken and onion bhaji that I’ve had in the city. I love spice and the level was perfect.
Its real Indian food and real taste. today I had dinner there, honestly, they have a great taste just wow. so i recommend that everyone should go there and try their food. Best butter 🐔 in town 👌
I ordered the Channa Masala yesterday and was instantly satisfied with the quantity and taste of the dish. I must confess- as a cook, I can see through it when most restaurants sell their creations to unsuspecting customers, in the garb of Indian cuisine, by a superfluous dumping of various kinds of unrelated powders and sauces, that do not figure in the original recipe at all.But Haldis creation yesterday was different. It had WHOLE spices- the essence of authentic Indian cuisine; for true Indian cuisine developed by our forefathers, serves to heal and sate at the same time. Star anise, bay leaves and black cardamom were in the Channa Masala- and I was truly happy. Most of all, unlike most restaurants that serve Indian food at affordable prices, Haldis dish WAS NOT drenched in oil. in fact, the texture, taste, quantity, and components of the dish was exactly like how my Grandmother would serve me Channa Masala back home in India.I am very happy with my purchase. It was reasonable in terms of cost as well- a high point for me. I look forward to buying more dishes from Haldi :)
Delicious food. Could taste the freshness in every dish. Host and the staff were the nicest. Had a great Diwali here. Will be coming back for sure :)
Visiting the city for the weekend, ordered from here on a whim last night and I already know what I’m ordering when I return next! So authentic and delicious
