Ive got 2 Indian restaurants at the end of my street, but after coming here a couple times, Ill be driving out to this restaurant every time I feel like Indian. The flavour of these dishes is exquisite. I ate every bite as slow as possible. And the two times I went, there was nobody even there! I know its Covid times, but I havent seen a restaurant this good that empty in a long time.

North of Bombay has STELLAR food. Ive been ordering from them for years. I normally get delivery from them, and its always amazing. You can tailor each order with their online form, add wine or beer, and has all kinds of dishes. I just ordered from them on Friday night and it was honestly one of the best theyve ever made. And unlike some Indian restaurants, their Chicken Tikka Masala nicely differs from their Butter chicken. To add, their staff and drivers are always kind and courteous.

The food here is just incredible. I ordered the samosas, chicken korma and dal makhani for takeout, and the dal and the chicken were some of the best Ive ever tried. Beautiful flavours, good portions, and nothing was too heavy. The spice in the samosas was overpowering for me, but overall it was a fantastic meal.

I have tried most Indian restaurants in this city and they are good but the day I stepped into this restaurant .. omg the food tastes so amazing!! .. We came here based on the mostly postive reviews on Google and the restaurant did not disappoint. The food was fresh and flavorful and the service was friendly. We were there on a busy Saturday night, but the food still came out hot and the wait was not long. We had the saag, vindaloo and naan. Its a big place and could use some freshening up, (new table clothes would go a long way), but Ill be back to try more dishes.

There are lots of positive reviews online, so maybe they were just having an off night, but my take-out was by-far the most disappointing Indian food Ive had. My chicken vindaloo and my girlfriends beef curry both tasted very watery -- salty, slightly spicy hot water. I usually love Indian food because its bursting with flavour, and if I think about it, Ive pretty much never eaten Indian food I didnt like until now.

My favorite Indian restaurant in the West End. Really good vegan options on the menu. Great for sit down or take out. Try the veggie samosas; they are so good!! Delivery took two hours!!! Thats not acceptable considering is Sunday night and we are within 2kms of the restaurant. I would suggest you dine in or pick up (hopefully its better on timing). Food is amazing. It is the benchmark I use against other restaurants for the food quality. The two star reduction is because of the delivery service and lack customer service. I have gotten food delivery from North of Bombay many times and the quality is good. For Mother’s Day we decided to eat in the restaurant. It was busier than ususal which is expected and you also expect to wait longer on a day like Mother’s Day but not an 1:30 hours to eat! It was just unacceptable. We were all really hungry when we arrived. We were definitely hangry by the time starters arrived and felt bad for the waitress who was working by herself while the manager/owner was back of house. It was really frustrating when people getting take out or deliveries were prioritized. Really poor restaurant management. After an 1:20 we decided to leave but were promised the food was arriving momentarily.. it came, we ate angrily and will never return again.. there are lots of great Indian restaurants on the Junction strip, I recommend giving one of the others a try!

Because of the many rave reviews I decided to give this place a try. I was very unimpressed with the food and really didnt find it to be anything special. Your typical, run of the mill Indian food that has been very westernized, thus lacking the authenticity I and many others crave. If youre someone who knows Indian cuisine very well, you will pick up on this point with just one bite of your order. Ive eaten much better North Indian food in the past, especially in Brampton/ Mississauga. Pros: The restaurant itself is very spacious; friendly staff; vegan and vegetarian friendly; not too expensive; not crowded therfore no wait.

I have been there maybe 4 times in the last year and one half and Indian food in general remains a huge huge treat for me. The few dishes that I have had at North of Bombay have all been delicious - the butter chicken, chicken korma, a cooked spinach dish, a very thin crispy bread, naan bread, all amazing, all incredible. North of Bombay has been a staple in the neighbourhood for decades. They used to occupy a smaller space and from what I can gather, they did mostly takeout until they moved to the space that they now occupy (which is much larger). The dining room is spacious and beautiful, with comfortable seating all over the restaurant. Noise level is never an issue, so quiet conversation is easy to maintain.Food is delicious, with reasonable portion sizes and a wide variety of delicious cuisine. I have dined here a number of times and have always enjoyed myself. If you are a fan of lassi, you will be in heaven. All of the different typed of lassi are amazing here. One of the best things about North of Bombay is the take-away menu, which is quite a steal. One can easily stretch a single combo to two meals - and the quality is as good as dining in (without the visual pleasure of the dining room in the restaurant, of course). If you enjoy flavorful, delicious East Indian food, check this place out! You wont be disappointed.
