This is the best pizza I’ve had in a while. I got the Florence and the Romano. I don’t like rosemary and they were able to leave it off the pizza. This has definitely become my go to place for pizza. The crust is thin and delicious and the dollops of cheese are so creamy.

Wish I could give ten stars, but alas, I’m restricted to 5. Pizzeria…Du make me happy. It is truly everything you’d ever want to see in a vegan establishment. I’ve never been disappointed ordering anything here. The pizzas are good, the ice cream is heavenly, and the staff are top tier. I love this place and will be celebrating every milestone with a meal at Pizzeria Du.

The BEST pizza. They’re all delicious but their jackfruit pizza is amazing, just a fantastic combination of toppings/flavours/textures. They have an excellent GF crust too, which is hard to find, and my kids love their pepperoni. The panelle and pizza puffs are also super yummy. Definitely a must-try!!

As a vegan it is difficult finding a proper pizza in the city/world... Since I took a chance with Pizzeria Du last year, its been a staple in the house. My non-vegan family members no longer enjoy any other pizza. The BBQ Jackfruit is an absolute favourite. The Florence and the Mediterranean is really good also. Aside from the pizza, try the garlic knots as well.

One of the best vegan restaurants we tried in Toronto. We started with the cheese fondue to share, then had the Wellington and finished with their homemade cheesecake. Everything was delicious and the Wellington was even split over 2 different plates (when ordering we asked if we could share it). I seldom see a restaurant do this and they usually just being more cutlery. Our waiter was super helpful, authentic and funny. We had a good time and I can only highly recommend this place!

Got the lasagna, french onion soup and garlic bread. Website said the lasagna was eggplant based but its mushroom and theres a lot of it. French onion soup also had a but of mushrooms. They were out of garlic knots so they gave us the bread option but it was over done. Towards the end I thought I was gonna chip a tooth. The ranch sauce with the garlic bread was really good. Also got it with a cheese spread that was really good. Will be back to try more.

When I’m at Away. I feel like I’m away. in food heaven. An innovative palette with rich and authentic flavours. Away is consistent in its quality and delivery.A simple two page menu featuring Toronto’s best vegan wood burning oven pizza cooked to perfection, plant based entrées, soups, salads and extras. It’s a challenge to find vegan pizzas and dishes that steer away from using overly processed ingredients. Away has artfully mastered creamy textures using nut cheeses, and combining flavours using herbs and vegetables with consideration to create an aroma and taste for every dish that is uniquely its own.Having tried almost everything on the menu ~ every bite of the Mediterranean pizza (my favourite) is savoury. Romana and Quattro Formaggi are hearty. Florence pizza is spread with a flavourful pesto. Garlic knots warm and soft. Fondue is full bodied paired with vibrant fresh fruits/veggies perfect for sharing. Cannelloni creamy and rich. And while the desserts have changed over the past few months every single one has been equally decadent - the latest chocolate cream pie and raspberry cheesecake are velvety. Oh and the lavender lemonade is so refreshing.Always greeted and served with smiles and warmth, its a pleasure to chat with the staff. Away is a charming ambient space painted in whimsical murals and holds spacious seating at the front by the window with a more intimate dining area in the back.Every friend I’ve brought here (carnivores and fellow vegans) have deemed it to be one of the best pizzas overall and vegan delights they’ve had in the city. They have all been enthused to spread the word and have returned for more.Away has carved their own lane and set a bar... Go away ~

The Jackfruit pizza was amazing. I was disappointed with the lasagna as the pasta sheets in the lasagna were cold, there was no eggplant in it as mentioned in menu.It was as if someone in the kitchen threw everything together. The chocolate moose kind of thing that we ordered for dessert was underwhelming although biscuits alonv with it were good, which they did not charge us for. I guess I will avoid coming here next time as I can get a good vegan pizza elsewhere. All the stars are for excellent servers who were courteous and nice.

Summary: I went to Pizzeria Du to spend $20 on a burnt pizza. I was so incredibly upset and disappointed. It was by far the worst meal Ive ever had anywhere. I posted pictures so you can see just how bad or was. Crust was burnt, bottom was all charred, all I could taste was burnt bread from the first bite. Ive never in my life returned anything from a restaurant, and if itd have known what Id been given before I got home, I would have gone back. I was really looking forward to trying their pizzas for weeks, but I can definitely say that Ill never be back again. Im truly disappointed that the chef couldnt see what was visibly a charred pizza. Buyer beware, check your pizza before leaving.

NOT the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had. Super disappointed because the reviews were so great and I was so excited to try the new “best vegan pizza place”.First, the garlic knots were dry and rubbery. Not soft and melt-break-apart like I’ve had before at different places (also made by myself at home 100 times better). Also, they forgot the garlic.Garlic ranch dip was mayo with a bit of herbs added. Absolutely no flavour. They forgot the salt as well as the garlic.Marinara sauce was served so hot the plastic lid on it was melted and changed shape. Also, they forgot the garlic- ie it had no flavour.I ordered two pizzas: the Romana and the MediterraneanRomana: figs, red onions, balsamic, cauliflower cream sauce, queso fresco, hmm..sounds yum..but was NOT. The onions were just plain weird. Soggy and floppy, no flavour. Figs were hard. Capers and olives super salty, figs and the cheese were sweet. I felt like it needed something to bind the two flavours together. Maybe some sort of garlic or chilli. The two “cheese” sauces didn’t make any sense to me. It was super heavy to eat and I had a tummy ache after one slice. Parent gave up after one bite.Mediterranean: it wasn’t bad. But I guess I wouldn’t order it again. In conclusion: OTT ingredients, bold vision, thick pizza base, rubbery knots(as well as pizza base), no garlic or spice (so if you like bland you’ll be fine), mayo + herbs as ranch. Thank you for having a vegan pizza place. These type of pizzas are just not my cup of tea. Also, I miss Virtuous Pie (the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had, apart from my own)

Unfortunately I judged this place because of the last business that was here. I didnt vibe with the food and assumed it would be similar (silly, I know). Today I came in and ordered the soup of the day: Yellow Thai Curry with Veg. YUM! and the Pan Seared Artichoke Hearts also YUM. Also the bread is baked in house and tastes delicious and is made with care. You can feel it and taste it.Also shout out to the server who was working during the day. Read all the great reviews, being a long time Vegan (organic too!) I could not wait to dine there. The decor, ambience and service all were excellence HOWEVER the food were disappointing. Hence the 3 stars. I went for lunch on a Monday, unfortunately the pizzas were sold out. So I opted for the Oyster Mushroom Pot Pie out of their quite limiting menu which I do understand as I have dined in number of vegan / plant-based restaurants ,,,, but it was a mistake. I was surprised to find there was no aroma at all, it was lack of any flavors, including lack of salt. The worst part is the crust. It was super hard, like a rock, it was beyond dry, no words can describe. The only item I enjoyed was the salad came with the pot pie ,,,, but it aint organic though. I understand due to the plant-based shortening nor butter is to be used. But I had pot pies and other pies at other vegan eateries, the crust might not be flaky, however they were never hard like a rock. Anyways, I have not given up on this place yet, will try again next time.

Away Kitchen which was once a Cafe, is now a place with a menu dedicated to a vegan menu. This location has had many incarnations, however, they have always provided a warm and inviting space. The new space is even prettier with a lovely mural. Although its more of a place to get food than a Cafe, it still extends a Cafe experience with their cold drinks of lavender and lemon, mint and lemon, rosemary and lemon, as well as, excellent lattes and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is very delicious, it maybe a bit too sweet for those with a sensitivity to sugar, but it is smooth and creamy and very difficult to drink slowly. For those who are vegan, it smells amazing, you cant go wrong getting any of their healthy sized dishes. I unfortunately didnt order the pizza but l was surprised by the aroma of authenticity. Their pizzas give traditional Italian pizzas a nod as its equally fragrant without feeling as something is missing because its vegan. I definitely recommend, even if you are someone who isnt vegan. Its great to find a place that does what they do really well.

Vegan pizza!Theres a lot of excellent pizza places across the city, but a vegan pizza option is quite niche. And this place does fantastic pizza.Ordered a Romana pizza which comes with a cauliflower sauce and Quesco Fresco cheese which appears to be soy based. Toppings include figs, olives, and grilled red onion, and the crust is incredibly crispy.Theres a lot of flavour going on with each bite, a little sweet, a little spicy. Each slice is also very filling: after two or three slices I was already feeling a bit full and it took a little effort to close the box and save it for the next meal instead of just going for more slices. This place also carries an assortment of beers, wines, and non alcoholic drinks so if youre not a pop and pizza kind of person, theyve got you covered. With the hot summer weather, theyre also introducing an assortment of vegan gelatos with interesting flavours I rarely see such as ginger tumeric, rhubarb, or popcorn along with familiars like chocolate, coconut, or hazelnut. Theres even a blue vanilla with lemon juice??? Couple gelato flavours can be ordered online in pints, with the full selection launching in just a few days!

Now it is a snooty vegan restaurant where you are seated by some servers that make you uncomfortable in a restaurant that feels like it should just be a cafe still. If youre going for coffee, dont go. If you wanted to previously stop in somewhere for a quick bite and a drink, dont go. Its not that place anymore. Really too bad.
