My friends and I tried their Samosa chaat, Aloo chaat and Vada pav and they were all delicious. We were surprised to see how close they have come in terms of taste compare to back home. Would definitely recommend this place if someone wants to try indian street food.

The food overall was good, the service however could be improved. Found the staff to be bit curt and unfriendly. We did a take ou for1) Vada Pav: it tasted good, not like Bombay but pretty much there2) Pav Bhaji: Enjoyed it and would recommend it 😋 please serve more onions with it, as its too little for the quantity of the bhaji3) Samosa Chole Chaat: Right mix of sweet, sour and spicy. Was pretty filling too.4) Chicken Roti: was expecting a khati roll but got something very different in a good way👍enjoyed it5) Dahi Puri: taste wise was ok. But want was annoying is that we needed to assemble everything on our own when all we asked was for the curd to be on side to avoid it getting soggy 😕

I have yet to travel and try the authentic stuff, but I think its a good intro to the real Indian street food. My friend who has had the chance to experience real street food in India has told me the prices are high in comparison to quantity and currency conversion. Colaba Junction has that unique factor as there are not as many restaurants with these food options in the area. Not your typical Indian restaurant, stands out from the others.

I tried their Colaba chaat (papdi chaat), street vada pav, and chicken biryani and everything was delicious. I was impressed by the packaging of the chaat and vada pav because I had ordered it from a delivery app and was impressed that it did not become soggy, instead was fresh and crispy. I went there specifically to try Pav Bhaji for the first time in my life with my Indian friend and I was not disappointed. My Indian friend told me that the taste is exactly how it would be in India. I enjoyed it every much. I didnt know what to expect as it was my first time trying it but it tasted good. I enjoyed it very much. Word of advice, always get more Pav (bun) because you will need it.Also, the look of the restaurant is really good with almost all pictures representing India. It was nice.

Limited menu items, if you going for a meal be ready most of the menu items are snacks like bhelpuri, samosa chat, gollgappa, pavbhaji etc. Some menu items listed online are not there in store. Asked for some spicy dishes came out just salt and pepper. Prentation is good compare to some cheap indian snack places out there. Must try paneer lazzania, rabdi kulfi and gollgappa. This place focusses on the Indian street foods and hugely popular Indian dishes. As the name suggests, their food is supposed to be how it is in Mumbai(Colaba). This place is a 10 to 15 min walk from UofT. This place has a very good ambience but I think there would be people who dislike Open kitchen. I have got no problems with open kitchen but it should have been handled with better ventilation. I went for lunch and ordered Chicken Tikka Masala. They give the Masala inside a big Roti and served hot. Even though the taste and the presentation were good enough, the gravy had too many potatoes than I would have liked. The biggest downside is that they need to improve a lot on their service. The person who took my order was expressionless and had a stern look throughout, as if the person was doing a favour by taking my order. This dampened the whole experience.I am not sure about visiting them again!!

The interior of the restaurant is really nice. If you’re a street food lover then you should check out this place for sure. Golgappa shots are a must try thing. However, I didn’t really like Misal pao and the vegetarian thali. There was a lot of sweetness added to the vegetables and quantity of misal pao was not that great. There are other options of street food so give them a try!

Jackfruit kofta gravy Is over sweet. I liked the presentation of Gol Gappa but it was super difficult to pour mint water in golgappa due to glass type, spoon could not be used as well as the mouth was too small. When I shared my feed back to the lady she did not care at all...so even though the mint water was good but half of it got wasted in pouring. Spring rolls are no good either. I gave 1 extra star for the presentation of golgappas

Food looks good but worst food tasted ever 😫 ordered goat Masala, Malabar paratha, Naan and chicken biryani. Malabar paratha was ok, but tasted the awful biryani in my life there was no balance on rice and Masala feels like rice was mixed with gravy separately, not even able to eat few bites also , goat masala, Feeling frustrated each time I took a bite , finished my meal by throwing everything in garbage .. no other words to describe the food ... 😞Please dont cheat the customers..

If you want authentic Indian food.. I wouldnt recommend going here.Ive been here a couple times now, but today was extra disappointing. Previously, Ive gotten their Kathi rolls and vada pav. The taste was fine but nothing to boast about especially for the price as its not worth it. Today I got the vada pav and was looking to take advantage of their Happy Hour deal which states 20% off Food on the sign outside the restaurant from 3-6 PM Mon-Fri.Upon asking about the offer, the male staff that took my order told me that the vada pav is not included as the Happy Hour is not for appetizers (not reflected on signs and promotions). Later adds that its only for dine in customers (which is stated at the bottom of the sign so thats fine). My $7.85 (tax included) for vada pav got me two mediocre vada pavs and with the chutneys mixed together.Customer service is very poor. Staff during each visit never greet you or even smile for that matter. Youre left waiting around at the front, not knowing if you should sit or order first.Ive given this place three tries (2 more than it deserved), definitely not going back as Ive never had a positive experience.

I re-visited this place today a few mins ago and had the worst food of my life. I ordered Bombay Bhel and asked her to make it spicy/hot but the spicy level they kept in food way too much to bear. My tongue felt burned. I went back and told them that its way too spicy to tolerate and to fix it. All they did was they added sweet chutney and gave it back. We had it again and both me and friend find it so spicy that we couldnt bear it despite sweet chutney. It also caused inflamation in stomach. We had to order an ice cream/kulfi to help the burning. This is worst of the worst experience. When going to this place of you order your food... You are at the mercy of staffs mood who is preparing your food. I am not suggesting anyone to go to this place ever again.

Stale oil was used to fry the samosas and the aloo tikki in the aloo chaat. Looking at other reviews, it looks like this is a consistent problem. If you visit this place then it will be a lucky draw. I loved the food here. We ordered the jakhaas gosht, butter chicken, aloo tikki and Godiva samosa. The jakhaas gosht was my favourite. Tender meat with lots of flavour. Their butter chicken isnt like the usual you get at other Indian restaurants. Theirs is creamier and made of cashew sauce I believe. The Godiva samosa was divine! I wish they gave more rice with their entrees...

The restaurant owner claims that the paneer in the paneer lasagne curry is always burnt. I have not seen this in any Indian restaurant. Sure, the top surface could be fried, but where on earth is the whole paneer burnt in the curry. The waiters and owner don’t accept the mistakes and are rude. Even the Malabar paratha was very hard and it was impossible to eat it. I used to go to this restaurant almost once a week, but after this degrading food quality and rude nature of the restaurant owners, I would avoid going to Colaba junction.

Very bad. Never order vada pav. It is not at all like the authentic Mumbai style. Before ordering I asked the lady about it and she got into confrontation mode by saying what do you mean by Mumbai style? May be she never knew the authentic Mumbai vada pav. Mighty costly too.I do not recommend this for vegetarians, as the oil in which vada was fried smelled non- veg. Either the oil is not fresh or it is used to cook vegetarian and meat dishes together. I will never come back, to waste my hard earned money to this below average Indian food.
