A great authentic family restaurant nestled within the Japanese Association. Maybe it’s the Japanese families dining around you, but it feels exactly like Japan in this place. Although the food isn’t the best, there is a warm homely flavour to the dishes. Had the seasonal special Hamburg rice with demi-glace sauce and was pleasantly surprised by the huge portion, with the beef being tender and not too gamey. Special shout-out for the salmon head which also comes in a generous portion for a very reasonable price!Do take note that only members may gain entry or bring guests to dine at the restaurants within the Japanese Association.
Simply awesome lunch 😋
Excellent service. We had a clean private room. Food is good but small menu, dont have many choices.
This is the main restaurant at the Japanese club, on the ground floor. Although it seems small there are actually quite a number of tables so they can accommodate more people. It gets crowded in the weekend. Here come Japanese families and kids, and occasionally it becomes a bit loud. Homely fares on the menu with friendly prices
We adjourned here for desserts and coffee after lunch at Akane. The staff here are friendly and helpful. If possible, request for the private room at the end if you are a large group. There is a $10 surcharge but this can be waived. There are special offers which include free flow beverages for $3 each if you order a mains or dessert. It was well worth it, as we could try their cold brew coffee, cappuccino, mango juice and teas etc.We enjoyed desserts like matcha ice cream, coffee with vanilla ice cream, mochi and cheesecake cup.You need to be a member or signed in by one to enter Akane or Donguri.
I guess when one has been to (or lived in Japan), the atmosphere and especially the service here CANNOT be compared to the real Japanese version one sees in Japan. I was not impressed with the service, and the waiting time for food was too long, considering we were there at a time when it was not peak period. The waiters could hardly speak proper Japanese, plus, inaudible Singlish. I would say... disappointed. Food wise, not bad. But not even close to proper Japanese standard in Japan.
Good food and friendly staff
The service and taste must be good because it’s the Japanese restaurant in the heart of Japanese Association... did look fine to me.The dishes like set menu, donburi, and assorted sushi are around $20 should be good pricing. I actually felt like ordering Unagi Bento with a free drink bar for $27 or so...The problem is, only the Japanese Association members or the escorted guests can dine there and I had to leave the place just before ordering like a guy in a wrong place.
I was brought here by my friend whos a member of their company. The food is surprisingly good! Its very authentic. Service is excellent. You cannot eat here if youre not a member or accompanied by a member.
Very good place for a dinner with the family. Young kids can play in the playroom and you can watch them through the glass window.Food is standard Japanese cuisine, with a mix of sushi and sashimi, ramen, tempura, even pasta, etc.. And prices are very reasonable. I have found the quality of the food very consistent over time, and we like to come in the weekend for dinner with our family. You need to be a member of the Japanese Club to come here.
Its a place with decent and acceptable Japanese food.Prices have been steadily increasing over the years.
Heres the perfect style of Japanese Family Restaurant ( so call FAMI-RES ) exclusively for the members. The taste is same as we have in Japan and the price is reasonable.
Love Japanese association
Delicious and affordable Japanese food.
Best value Japanese restaurant in Singapore.
Nice
Good food and excellent service. You need to be a member to eat here.
I have not eaten here as it requires a membership card to do payment here. Therefore I wouldnt judge the food quality here.
Although it may be quite crowded and loud on weekends because of the small children, it is peaceful on weekdays and the food is good.
It is a place of relaxation for expat Japanese.
It is a restaurant limited to members of the Japanese Society, but it can be eaten at reasonable prices. I am happy that it is impossible for tea.
A membership card for the Japanese Association is requiredreasonableIts crowded on weekends.Monthly menuCakes are delicious
