We were invited for dinner at this wonderful Japanese Omakase restaurant, which is in the Japanese Association Building. We ordered the set dinner menu and it was really quite delicious. The tempura was really nice and the sushi / sashimi was exquisite. Some things were a hit and some not so good, such as the salmon, which seemed to have been overcooked. The beef was nice but the dipping sauce was a bit too tangy for my liking. Service was excellent and the overall ambience was quite nice.
Perfect Japanese cuisine with an impeccable service.
A friend brought a group of us here for lunch and it was a mostly enjoyable experience. The dishes were well presented and not overly expensive, and there are lots of options at lunch. Most of us went with the udon and tempura set, while my wife had the beef with sushi set. Both were elegantly presented, with fresh ingredients. The prawn tempura was especially tasty, as the crispy coating was light and not oily.Service was a little hit and miss, though, with staff dropping utensils and bowls on three occasions. Also, my wife asked the staff if the dishes had any soba or buckwheat as she is allergic, and the staff said there was none. However, one of the appetizers had buckwheat rice, which we thought was barley (we confirmed this with one of the senior staff) - fortunately, my wife had only taken a couple of bites and on,y experienced some tingling in her lips and some small reaction.
There are many good Japanese restaurants, it must be competitive. Here standard of food is very good, many Japanese guests tell me that this is authentic, and it makes me feel a bit as if I were in Japan (I wish). Prices are also very Japanese, pretty steep..
Good good, good service & good place for small gathering of friends or business associates.
Freshly grilled una don. Good service.
This is a member only restaurant. Decent Japanese cuisine.
Beautiful food served beautifully. You can sit in a private Japanese style room, or in a private (curtained off) private seated (with chairs) area. There is a full service bar also. Counter service, or table service available. We opted for the counter service as we had a Tempura Kaiseki lunch set so we were able to enjoy watching as the chefs prepared each course. their menu is on their website. Service is very efficient. The staff are all outfitted with earpieces so that all the staff are notified immediately you are done and someone magically appears to clear away and prepare for the next course. Have been several times and always perfect.
Best in class service and authentic Japanese Food
Best izekaya-type Japanese restaurant in Singapore. Must be a member or come with a member of Japanese Association in order to dine here. Ingredients always very fresh and high quality. Recently came here for the una-don promotion - grilled unagi (freshwater eel) was tender and the skin nicely crisped from grilling.Otherwise I regularly order the kaisen chirashi.
A hidden gem in Singapore. The food here is actually quite nice to my surprise. Service is excellent as well. Will love to come back here again soon
As you would expect for a real Japanese restaurant
Had my 40th birthday there with 10 of my best friends. From the booking until walking out we had 10/10 service! They were super cool the entire time about all my requests. The chef was insanely funny and talented! The food next level amazing! Every staff member was switched on, engaged, constantly checking if we were ok for drinks and the overall vibe was simply excellent 🙌🏼 Will absolutely be back!
Convenient for parking n Akane fd is gd!

Good food but $$$
Fan
Authentic Japanese for fair price. Recommend the course lunch or dinner as the Chef has a thoughtful menu using the food from the seasons. This is the tempura course lunch. The Japanese Association, Akane is an orthodox kaiseki at a reasonable price. You can enjoy course meals, so it is recommended for everyday meals
Why is the price the same as the outside restaurant even though this is a restaurant supported by the membership fee of Japanese association members? It may be rather expensive. The use by Japanese people is much less than before, the quality is not that high, and the service is worse than other stores.
I enjoyed delicious Japanese food for the first time in a long time. Recommended if you like the quiet and calm atmosphere!
Being Calm
It is in a Japanese society. A delicious Japanese restaurant.
