Food is good, view is amazing. Infrastructure is not at all maintained. Costs are pretty high.

Boasting the finest views of the Bay of Bengal and the pier of Pondicherry this government run restaurant is unfortunately a run down property. Not taking advantage of its prime location is a pity. The service and the food here though are above average. To enjoy the best views of the ocean in Pondicherry over a meal or a beer this might be your place to go to.

Just this is sea side bar. Other than that you will not be able to find anything good. Food is completely worst. My recommendation pls check the food before you taste. Hospitality is below average. Wish I could give negative as I really want to give it -5 star for worst ever service and even worst food. Even though there was hardly 20 customer occupancy was there still they took half an hour to come to take our order. To whomever we were calling they were saying another person will take order I cant... Then after order aslo more than an hour waiting for food. Place of restaurant is good but not at all maintained. Walls are broken. Will suggest never to visit there. Leave about other things for water also they are charging double the MRP.

The only thing thing thats worth it is the sea breeze, which you can get for free. But otherwise, everything else was below par. The tandoori chicken wasnt fresh, the prawn fry was way too greasy, the fish finger had oil dripping off it. Beer choice was limited too

Location of this restaurent is very good. You can enjoy sea beach view from this place. Restaurant runs with minimum staff and wait time is more. Food quality is okey, quantity is good and price is reasonable. You have to park at nearby port area which is nearby and secured. Utensils used by the restaurent are not of good quality, your food will be served in low grade plastic plates. Be careful about crows, as it is an open restaurant and if you are not careful enough then you have to share your food with them.

Ever since we have been going to pondy (past 15 years) we always end up in Sea gulls. Donno why :) it was once very famous but there are many other places to eat/drink now.. worst service. They take ages to clean a table and to bring a dish. Food taste is good though. Drinks are cheap and good. Ambience is bad. Tough to go with family / kids. Smells beer all over the restaurant. Kids might not like it. Average experience, but just for legacy we keep going back to Sea gulls :)

The location of the restuarant is very good. The sea in front while taking food gives sensations. The sound of waves and the blowing wind adds up to the taste of food. The food is very tasty. For seafood lovers this is a must place. Service can be a little slow but the staff are really sweet and make up for the late service.They also serve liquor and the amazing beach view can make you sit there for hours to enjoy the beautiful view.

The location of this restaurant of Pondicherry tourism is the ultimate.Situated just bang on the sea beach they serve a wide variety of foods.Sitting on their roof top cafe facing the sea and sipping beer with fried masala prawns and chicken is splendid.

Located on a sea shore, Sea Gulls has very beautiful view of sea Bay of Bengal. Hotel has multiple sections to enjoy time with family, friends, couple and solo. Food and service is okay, dont land here with high expectations. Price is affordable too, not high as in Mumbai or Goa. They have good land acquisition to host parties, meetings and events. Could have given 4 star rating if food was tasty.

If its cheap and fresh seafood that you are looking for then this is the place you got to go. This is a government run place with sea view and decent food. The prawns biryani needs a special shout out here and so does the tawa masala fried fish. The prawn and fish starters were decent and the chicken starters average. Overall a place to laze with friends, enjoy the view and some good pondicherry food. It has entrance from both the beach side as well as the road side so convenient though the parking is a little far.

Good place to visit. Before visiting inside to have a look of auroville meditation centre one has to collect a entry pass here. This has a auditorium open during day time for visitors which shows the video of the main meditation centre with audio clarification since it isnt possible for visitors visit inside it. On other rooms photographical illustration about the place is there. In front of it maa temple is situated, a good place to visit a must

I heard about this place, by some of the friends who visited Pondicherry half a dozen time. This place is perfect to have lunch while having the beautiful view of pomegrade beach, and the port area of pondicherry. This restaurant is on the first floor, thus the view of the sea is very clear, soothing blue as far as your can see.. The food was good and the price was reasonable, chapatis bit too costly. You can enjoy your beer along with good food, beware of the crows flying across that area. Worth a visit.

Worst experience!!! Dont visit!!Worst hospitality and customer service. Staff behaved with so much attitude. When we visited the place we wanted to have balcony seats to enjoy the view while we eat however staff didnt even considered the request or told us how much waiting time there will be. They dont care about customers (just like all Pondy restaurants), and straight away tell us 1-2 hrs. It doesnt matter if you leave. Customer service and hospitality is very poor here.They just have 3-4 tables with good view which are always blocked.
