Should visit this place at least once if you are reading this, it means you are thinking about visiting here. Its old establishment which still stands in its glory and allowing enthusiasts to spend some magical time in astronomic atmosphere. Place is well maintained and quite clean. Will for sure enjoy watching stary night sky and constellations. Tickets are also inexpensive and students will get discount on tickets with proper ID.
Star lovers will enjoy a visit. I took in the 3 pm English show, Rp. 100. First theres 15 minutes to see the giant photos and other space exhibits. The 45-minute show began with an introduction to the night sky with both Indian and Western names for major stars and constellations. The main presentation told of a fantasy journey in an Indian space ship to a distant inhabited planet. Note that the booking office closes for lunch 11 am-2:30 pm. If you have extra time, Nehru Centre just to the south (enter from side) has changing photography and art shows on main floor and a large well-illustrated Indian history museum one floor up; all free admission but no photos.
One of the main attractions of the city Mumbai is the Nehru Planetarium which has always been a pleasant learning experience for the visitors. The Planetarium aims at spreading the knowledge of Science and Astronomy through various events and programs which are both a part of learning as well as entertainment for the viewers. It is also a great place to be visited for the kids who get to know a lot about the space and satellites of our country. The architecture of the Nehru Planetarium is very unique and is sure to take away your heart in the first go. The beautifully made white dome and the cylindrical structure of the building are exquisite in the eyes of the visitors. The Planetarium has several informative shows for their visitors which have been luring the tourists since ages. “Awesome universe” is the current show that runs in the Planetarium which is a 45 minutes presentation on heavenly wonders and cosmic journey. The utmost attraction of the place is that you can calculate your weight in nine different planets of our solar system with the help of the cubicles. There is a Science Complex just adjacent to the planetarium where you can view a 14 minute show known as the Discovery of India. It shows us the journey of our country through the ages. There are 14 galleries which showcase several artistic works, audio visuals and photographs which often are the attractions for the students.
Nehru center is an amazing place for children as well as elders. The place is built with so many innovations in science and also showing the history and origin of mankind. It has three floors. On the first floor you will see biological science related experiments, on the second floor there is evolution related things and on the third floor there is nuclear energy experiments and information. The place is worth watching and spending time. If you want your child to get good and quality information about basic sciences this place is a must visit. Also, there are numerous games a child can play. Nearly all objects are interactive. The staff is very cooperative and there is a nominal fees for entry. Photography is allowed and you can play with various objects. I spent nearly 3 hours there. A must visit place.
I mean, for 2019 in a Metropolis like Mumbai, a lot more can be invested for kids and young people interested in astronomy. The place is mediocre at best. Im sure the staff are try g their best but given the kind of funding am organization like this gets their hands are tied as well. The place needs a major overhauling. But the staff here are really nice and friendly and eager to answer your questions.
This is a very educational place. I have personally learnt a lot here about space and our solar system. There conduct shows in three different languages. Tickets are costing Rs 100. This is a must visit place if you have kids or if you are quite curious with the history of India. You can get to know everything about Nehru. There are various specimens of tools used in medieval period. There is also a Shiva temple inside this planetarium which is quite good. We went for the 3pm English show. We felt that the show be made more interesting. Too many references for far away galaxies and milky way etc..whereas we thought more focus was required on the Solar system which kids learn in the school. Seating and dome theatre is nice and comfortable. Booking ia available online and there are no issues with getting in. The other building houses Diacovery of India a permanent exposition. There is no direct connectivity to the other building from the dome theatre..ample pay and park facility is available. We were charged Rs.150 for valet parking. Without valet we were told it.is Rs.100/- Cannot confirm if these are true as.no.such board existed. The discovery of India exibition is good for one time see for kids around the age of 8 to 10 years.

It will be a great learning experience. The movie shows are great. Lots of kids turn up for the shows and the staff spends decent amount of energy trying to get kids (and unfortunately adults too) to maintain silence so as to not degrade experience of other visitors.
Excellent quality of show and the presenter was knowledgeable in the subject. Will surely visit again.
Awesome architecture but not very well maintained . Was expecting better maintenance. Centre is used mainly for exhibition purposes.
