We reserved for 5h pm: doors were locked until 5h15PM.We sat inside, there was actually 4 flies near the window that we had to kill.Food is way too sweet: no spices : we ordered the butter chicken and the lamb which tasted too much of the coconut milk. Chotpoti tasted like chick peas, onions n the sauce but all separated. Feels it did not have time to marinated. They were out of Lassi and that different kind of bread. The naan bread were soggy, not fresh despite we were the only costumers there.Prices are above your normal indian restaurents prices ( which ranges from 10-13$) they are more expensive ( more liek 15$ and above).Would NOT GO BACK THERE for sanitary reasons and food quality.

Ive been going here for twelve years. Ive tried dozens of other places across the island and this is by far the best and most authentic Indian food in Montreal. You can’t go wrong with the the Butter Chicken and Lamb Korma. The naan, samosas and all other appetizers are always phenomenal.Quality hasn’t suffered one bit during COVID

This place has gone down the drains. . .from the quality of the food, to the delivery service. It took 1hour and 30min for a simple two course meal tonight and when the driver came he forgot the side salad and popadums. After calling to explain items were missing. Nobody showed up to bring the items! I called back to have the owner tell me hell send the driver 3 hours after . .. food was already eaten and I didnt receive all that I paid for. Stay away from here. . Ive ordered hereFor years and will now avoid at all costs.

Beware!6 pieces of beef and 6 pieces of lamb with some rice and a piece of bread for 28.69$the cups they gave me was filled with almost 70% of their watery sauce.I can get the same for 15$ at Thali restaurent.I really do not recommend for take out as what happened to me.its sad that you guys do this to students.:: also they will OVER spice their food in order for you to feel fuller. its an old technique that only cheap restaurants do.

Everything tastes wonderful and I love the big portion of naans, the Lamb tikka to the butter chicken and many more, this place has my heart. You can also order on various delivery apps!

I have been dining regularly at Ganges Restaurant for over 15 years. The spice, quality and value of the food is always on point and the overall experience is just what you can expect for Indian fine dining. Although the management and ownership of the restaurant has recently changed it is still the restaurant I know and love (thank you Raju for the great service!). Their efforts to update the P.O.S. system and menu are also appreciated.

The food is acceptable, but you can get much better Indian food in NDG - just down the road, in fact. The service is slow and incompetent. You have to remind them to bring things that you ordered, and send back things that you didnt order. Check your bill, because there may be items on it that you ordered but which never arrived. And be prepared to wait, and wait, and ...

Have tried finding good samosas around town and this is the definitely up there. The batter is thin and crispy. Prices are reasonable and staff is wonderful. The food in general is very good. Lived in South Asia for a year and the food compares well. The dahl soup is a little too watery but other than that its one of the better Indian restaurants in Montreal.

Went here for dinner a few weeks ago and enjoyed the food thoroughly. The menu is huge. So much that it was actually a negative point. We ended up ordering 4 dishes to share with 4 people, with some naan and rice and it was a good quantity. The food was really good and I would go back to taste a few more dishes before moving on. The service was slow, cold and ultimately absent despite the restaurant being mostly empty. The prices were a little high, but not wallet breaking.

It will be a while before we go back. Weve eaten there well over a hundred times over the past few decades and the food has been remarkably consistent. But last night it took 1 3/4 hours to have 2 courses (which were excellent when they arrived). The restaurant was only moderately full but we watched multiple take out and delivery orders go by before we got even our appetizer. This problem has been getting steadily worse over the past several months. The chef could take on a junior partner to help with the work load as well as raise prices a bit to let him dial back on the deliveries where his margin must be very small. As it is going, hes likely to burn out soon. Too bad.

Without doubt a really solid restaurant offering Indian food!Their dry flatbread is simply amazing! The spicy mix is just right!Their assorted appetizer is really good, except for the samosa, which was, and always had been kind of blend.Moving on to main dish, their lamb biryani was simply amazing! I got so focused on eating that I forgot to take a picture. The curries are all very tasty! Albeit a little too much on the sweet side. The chicken tandoori is very solid, especially the thigh pieces, since the chest pieces tend to be a bit dry.Service is good, would go back for sure!

Although service was not fast, Ive been here few times for last few years because food was good. Today, I had to wait 1 hour before i get my food , and the excuse was that they had to prepare foods for take outs first, even though out food was almost ready. It seems it happens often based on preview reviews... Also, our food tasted like it was rushed and not fully cooked. Not sure I would go back there anymore...

I waited 40 mins for a pickup and the restaurant wasnt even busy on a Wednesday night. The so called chicken biryani was not a real biryani, the rice was mushy and had strong sweet coconut flavor instead of spices, other dishes that I ordered were also bad, not real indian food at all. Ive been to many Indian restaurants in Montreal and this is the worst food Ive ever tasted that really made me want to write this review.

Dont get me wrong, the food is excellent. The big problem is that everything takes too much time. Weve been there 2 times, and both the same. People are nice but overwhelmed, just too bad.

I suggest Chicken JhalFrezy. Very succulent and spicy. Butter chicken tastes european so only try if you want something not spicy.Service can be normal, slow or very slow depending on the number of people there and the waiters working. It is not often it is very slow. There was ambient music at some point which is nice. Decor is nice for a romantic dinner (not a lot of light).

Im very disappointed. Its the first time I bought food from there and ill never ever go back. The food didnt taste fresh at all. The naan bread was burnt and not properly cooked. I have had indian food before. Trust me I know what im talking about. Worst experience ever. I paid almost 50 bucks for 3 items. I was expecting something better than this. Theres a lots of indian restaurant on jean talon. They are less expensive and much tastier. The food tasted as if someone took the receipe online and tried to cook it at home. My preferred Indian restaurant in the area. Excellent food and friendly service. You may have to wait a while if its busy. They know my face, what I order, what I drink and have one of my daughters hand drawn pictures on their wall. They *really* know how to make you feel welcome. Theyve got excellent dishes for the meek (Korma/Kashmir chicken Tonka masala and butter chicken/shrimp), reasonably spicy dishes for those braver; chicken jal frezzi is my favorite dish there, but theyve got a variety of good spicy dishes with chicken, beef or lamb. My mom loves their sag aloo vegetarian dish, but the sag pander is a lovely cheese dish and they have a cauliflower one thats really nice too. Ive taken to ordering without a menu, but its worth exploring their variety. A nice selection of Indian beers (the darker taj Mahal us my fav) and dont forget deserts to round it out. The price is solidly in the appropriate range for the quality and service.Parking is a bit of a nuisance on sherbrooke, but if you dont mind a small walk, you can park on a residential side street a block away usually.Ive gone with just a few people, but its best with a large crowd so you can order a ton and share. Variety and doggy-bagged Indian breakfast are key!
