The tandoori mixed grill plater for 2 was delicious - succulent and tender ! Gr8 service. Relaxed and comfy atmosphere. Clean place. A wonderful dinner for 2. And so much food we had to do a “take home” bag.

Theres a lot to say;Starting from the ambiance, it was good as there were zero customers, except me. I was super hungry so I decided to try Masala Palace for the first time, which turned out to be a really bad choice. I ordered the so called Saag-Paneer thali, which contained daal(atleast 5 days old and without tadka!!!), mix veg, and the SAAG-PANEER which had meagre 4 peices of paneer in a thick yellow gravy of something I dont know, along with some green leaves ! Beyond pathetic. The only thing above average in this thali was the naan, but guess what, I was given only half of a naan, cut into another 2 halves ! Dont even get to the dessert, SEVAYIYAAN ! Got two spoons of it, chilled, atleast 8 days old with a huge piece of cinnamon stick in it !So much for 11$ !!!!

Omg Vintage Indian Restaurant that I found in this city, its almost the age of Indian independence, this restaurant is oldest and 1st Indian restaurant in the city of Montreal, due to pandemic guys its going to a very bad side. I will must say must try and visit once this vintage authentic Indian restaurant, I loved my 1st visit owner is also very nice, I am looking to visit again with my friends when the lockdown is over. Guys please please support this restaurant is in trouble. Order online, take out or do whatever you can to save this restaurant. 🙏

Paid 13.95 for butter chicken, only to receive about 5 pieces of chicken in a lake of sauce without any rice. How expensive can rice be to not include it at that price??

Br
Review №7

The price, for what you receive, is unfortunately far too steep. The naan was almost as hard as cardboard and the meals were missing the complexity Ive come to love from Indian food. It was perhaps even a little undercooked. The staff was nice enough.

Everyone needs to know how great Masala Palace is. They have finally reopened after the lockdown and I’m pretty sure I was there ordering takeout in the first 5 minutes! Their food is fantastic and I am obsessed with their madras chicken, that sauce is so flavorful and just teetering in the line of too spicy. Cannot say enough good things about this place, and they are always so nice (we only ever do takeout). We always get the tarka daal, vegetable curry, chana masala, prawn bhuna (the puri when they offered it before the lockdown), and of course that madras chicken! Their samosas are decent and I’m excited to try the new chaat samosa.

We went here three times already and always picked up a different 2 person menu. This was overall one of the best experiences we had with Indian food and we loved it every time. Staff seemed nice but well we life close by so we eat it at home. The portion was big enough for both of us to eat from it two days in a row.Big recommendation! The food we got (AA, BB, CC) was extremely good

Very bad experience. service was good, Thats why one star. Food was like putting the money in garbage. The chef over there even dont know how the dish is made. Nothing authentic, every is made in cream and sugar. No indian spice flavour. Cheese they use in dish they always deep fry, i dont know why. I think owner never tasted, what the chef cooks...........never ever go back.

The restaurant is a surprise, with a deceivingly simple entrance. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, the ambience was inviting and homely, which made me feel comfortable immediately. Usually I tend to stay away from Indian restaurant while traveling for work or pleasure, however, the food at this restaurant was an exception for my very indian palte. The food was homely comfort food for me, not over the top spicy or hot. It had the right amount of complexity of flavour, though a tad sweet for me. The samosa was almost as good as the one on the street corner of India or Bangladesh. They can think of other beer options and add a bit of diversity in the drink menu. This is a family run restaurant, where I had the chance to be entertained by the owner himself. Very keen to improve and serve customers. So, if someone on a fall or winter evening is looking for a no nonsense indian comfort food with good value for money, this is the place.

If you are really desperate for Indian food, its an ok place. However there are probably 1000 other Indian restaurants in the Montreal area that are better than this one. Their butter chicken has a heinz ketchup-y taste and their saag paneer is chunky and weird. The staff is nice, price is a bit expensive for what it is.

The experience was very intriguing!!Warmly greeted at entering the restaurant and wonderful service provided by them. They have a good set of appetizers to munch on and should not forget to mention their complimentary papadam, every bite gives out a fresh smell of cumin. The masala palace butter chicken was one of the best butter chicken I have ever tried. I would recommend to try the butter chicken with their naan, which was so savory to my palate.

Beware of their lunch scam! First off, the food is actually very good- naan is excellent. But if you go during lunch time, be careful: the menu says rice or naan. We said wed like naan, and assumed the implication was that we didnt want rice. They brought our food with rice on the plate, we didnt say anything, thinking it was included. We got the bill and were charged for 2 naans, and the owner explained that we should have said no rice. Come on! If it says rice or naan and you say naan, you shouldnt have to also say no rice! I overheard them speaking before and I think they had the same issue wiht a previous customer, so it seems this is a frequent occurance. So watch out!

This is the worst indian restaurant I have ever ordered from: too expensive, very small portions, tasteless (the butter chicken is just cream with a little tomato), hardly any spices, just bad bad bad. Even the desert was watery and tasteless. Oh and the vegetable rice had just a couple scraps of carrot in it, really insulting. Do not order there.

I went there out of curiosity because I live in the area. I ordered a Chicken Biryani as usual. Not sure if this was a special now or if it is all the time, but I got it with a little salad and a little soup for no more than $ 13 + tax.It was so good! The portion of Biryani was really generous and the rice was so good. I liked the soup less though, but it wasnt my basic order. The owner (it seems to me its him at the cash desk) was very welcoming and kind, easy to talk to.Honestly, I havent tasted all of the menu, but the service is good and the food is good! Im sure Im going back!
