Excellent place! We took just bar food, but Flathead was very juice and tasty. The dip plate was fantastic, herbs and cheese slices with caviar dip. The service was also great, so love this place and will come back again.

Got takeaway from their kiosk and totally disappointed. Should have known better! I ordered the rainbow burger which is a vegan and Gluten free burger option. Was meant to come with a black bean patty. Instead I got an oil drenched chunk of chewy mushroom - the change in ingredient wasnt communicated at any point by the staff. To add to that its a steep $16 for what could be a little cocktail burger

The menu offers a great selection of foods cocktails and wines. We selected a wide variety of foods and each were delicious and I’d say better than expected! Staff were helpful and attentive, the view is wonderful and brings with it the ocean breeze or gusts as it did today- staff happily closed the glass doors. The pizza had a generous serving of the buffalo mozzarella, the antipasto board had a great selection of foods and the mussels were tasty with a lovely sauce and wood fired bread.

Gosh, everything we loved about this place: food was amazing, fresh and tasty. We ordered freshly baked flat bread with some sort of dip then fish and chips. The veranda ocean view is overwhelming. And the great service as well. We didnt have to wait, it matters when you are as hungry as we were.

This place has the most amazing dining experience. Staff were hospitable and the views here are spectacular with views of the ocean and the ocean pool.We had the pasta and the avo crab entre and the sweet potato fries. All were amazing and beware of the serving size of the sweet potato! Its huge.For desert we had the affogato and the blueberry tart 🤤🤤.Would definitely come back to try other food on the menu.

I visited for an event, however, we did have a drink upstairs first.Service was good. The event food was great and service was good, a bit slow at times but good. Veiw was amazing! Overall a great experience. I will go back.

You come for the view, a wine or cocktail in one of the east coast of Australia’s best locations. It’s breezy and a glorious people watching spot. The food can be hit and miss but still pretty good. If you’re on a couple date ask for a bench seat right at the window and you feel like your are literally sitting over the water. Avoid Saturday afternoons as it can be loud and a bit rowdy.

Amazing place with great views of the ocean and a nice place to chill and relax. Great food. We personally tried many starters and one main to share amongst three people. All plates were equally good. Highly recommended.

We have been 4 or 5 times with different groups of people, and every single time has been brilliant! Food is amazing every time, cocktails are delicious, service is fantastic and views are stunning. We will be coming back again and again

The food is very nice however the customer service is really really bad. The manager is not customer oriented at all and we were not treated friendly whatsoever.We came with a child of 10 years and we really wanted to have a pizza, but we couldn’t get it at all because our child is under 18 and we couldn’t sit at a table where pizza would be served. So it’s the same venue, but different menus for two floors and if you come with a child you simply can’t order a pizza. How silly is that???? The manager wasn’t very nice to us at all and tried to get rid of us claiming that all the tables were fully booked months ago. But the venue was half empty all through the Friday night.

Hot drinks came out with one boiling hot and one barely warm and flavourless. A little crowded which is hard to avoid with their small venue. Chip sizes are generous.

The view is one in a million, the decor and ambience are really refreshing and breezy. I had the Buffalina pizza and I was very pleasantly surprised, it was so good! I also ordered the meatballs which were good and the rocket and pear salad which was abundant and fresh. The service was a bit slow but the staff was nice.

Love the views but have had mixed feelings after going into the restaurant with my 6 month old only to be told we couldnt enter because he was under 18 years of age. For some reason, I doubt he would try and sneak a cheeky beer. Havent been back since.

Awesome place. $10 pizza. More if you want fancy. Very busy place. Limited tables because of COVID but I bought take away and sat in pergola thingo and watch the ocean. It was my dogs birthday so he had an extra special day with extra walk and chicken mince birthday cake with candle and a tenny weeny bit of chicken off my pizza.

Consistently provides very bad coffee. I’m a local and always regret trying the coffee, it’s always scorched and I have confirmed this with other locals and friends. Everything else is nice and the view amazing.

An awesome location. The restaurant service staff are so nice and professional. The steak was exceptional, the duck was good, the spanner crab omelette was amazing. We had a fabulous lunch.

Really disappointed..Wanted to book for a group of 8 and they wont accomodate!! Couldnt even have 2 table of 4 near each other!! Extreme shame as great location and the chefs are amazing!!

Overpriced Italian with middling outcomes. Aggressive fine menu but not always with payoff, marred a bit by execution and a bit by choice. For instance my pasta was cooked well beyond al dente, the listed rigatoni was not rigatoni at all unless they cut it in half for styling, and the arancini a bit bland. The roast chicken was by far the star of the menu, flatbread good. Desserts also hit and miss, the mild and tart lemon meringue Panna Cotta was fine but the cannoli much less so.

Great food & excellent view but so over crowded and noisy it spoils the experience. Quiet a shock after covid spacing to be so jammed in like sardines, must have been 4 people per square metre! The wait staff were run off there feet & obviously not coping. Some them not in the same uniform, casual I guess, were almost rude. Not recommended, plenty of other restaurants to chose from at this price point.

Went here for breakfast and got the dragonfruit bowl. Though a little pricey was worth it cause it was massive. You could easily share between 2 people with a coffee and be satisfied. The view was amazing and its a great place to people watch while you enjoy breakfast and a coffee.

We ordered the prawn and chorizo pizza which was very lukewarm on delivery.Was not very impressed with the pizza, but the service was extremely polite and efficient.

With the new menu the food is now starting to match the view which is amazing.

Only had a pizza here this time but it was served exceptionally fast without any mistakes. The pizzas were delicious, especially the bbq chicken pizza. Good value for money as well.

Best to go there during day light, the best thing going for this place is the views. The meat dishers are very over priced for what you get. Average size piece of meat with a few pieces of vegetables. The meal was presented only covering 1/5th of the plate. Defiantly a place you need to get the entrees and dessert or go home still a bit hungry

Chilli prawn pizza was cold . Chicken pizza also cold. I am unwell today due to the under heated frozen pizza served up by these guys. I certainly WILL NOT be eating there again. I recommend getting Domino’s delivery and take your own wine , the spectacular view will be a lot better enjoyed without handing over your hard earned cash to these fake pretenders.

Friendly staff, great service, delicious food

Had dinner on Saturday night with another couple great venue great table at the window. The service was excellent attentive friendly and efficient, but sadly the food was appalling the gnocchi was like chewing rubber balls with a mushroom like gravy sauce that was not edible. The pasta dish sounded good on the menu but didnt deliver on flavour and the duck was disappointing. We had desserts which again sounded good but were dry and tasteless. I have spoken to a few people since they have all said the same thing good place, terrible food. Will not go back.

Stunning open air bar, with a glass panel barrier. Sit back and watch the surfers and dolphins catching waves. Staff are awesome and happy to go the extra mile to help you out.

This location overlooking the surf beach is sensational. We had pasta for our main and the cheese plate from the dessert menu, both were excellent.

Beautiful views and food but took over an hour for main course to arrive to our table of 4. Other tables had received their starters and mains before us. Apology finally given after chasing up our meals but no reason to explain delay.

Yah well maybe it was the staff shift that day or something, but our visit was a disaster. Walking in i could hear some staff members making jokes about how we looked physically. The service level was immature and childish. It appears to me whoever recruited them did not do it for their professional experience. Anyway. The food was terrible too. Came cold. It was a pizza. Was extremely watery I don’t know how, maybe wasn’t cooked well and the sauce a bit too much. Anyway, tasteless too. Another thing, bugs. Everywhere. On my clothes, was busy pushing them away from my face, the table. Unpleasant experience. Never again. They have a nice view and location maybe this is why they don’t give a thought for the other things like food, staff, and hygiene. Saw other restaurants on the opposite side, were crowded. Definitely going to them next time for the view. This place? I don’t think so. Will never recommend it.

Went to the southern end of the beach for one of my best mates wedding. Great afternoon had by all & very picturesque for photos 👍

Incredibly dissapointed!!I should have listened to the other reviews, but I thought it wouldnt be hard to get fish, chips and salad right. Paid $50 for two plates of batter. The fish was nonexistent, only a couple of millimetres thick and had been battered atleast twice, possibly three times, and then half cooked. The salad was just smooshy lettuce and cabbage, and the tartare sauce was mayonnaise. We couldnt eat much of it, as we both felt sick due to the oily battery taste. Just picked out the flakes of fish.. This place used to do amazing fish and chips! What a absolute waste of a view, for this below average restaurant. Yuck.

Very busy. Waited 20 minutes for a coffee. Waited over 45 minutes for breakfast on a Friday morning. Meals were good. Had corn fritters, eggs Benedict and kids pancakes.

Great venue, good food, normally ok for parking. The view is hard to beat.

Spectacular views. Extremely friendly happy staff. Great food and wine. Wonderful company. After the strange times of COVID-19 shutdown and now things are reopening, it was nice to have a memorable experience at Merewether surfhouse. Looking forward to visiting again.

Cafe downstairs gets no stars after serving CARDBOARD PROCESSED SLICED HAM, with the eggs benedict. Worst ever.Never will go there again. Wish I had taken a photo to show no presentation.Just because you have a good view does not mean you serve bad food.No offer of a glass when purchasing a drink, average coffee and ask for it otherwise you dont get it.
