We were up in Newcastle, specially Merewether for the weekend to check out the WSL surf comp. We were recommended to try out Convoy Commune for a coffee and took a short walk from our hotel and found this not far from the beach.In the beachside suburb, the decor fits perfectly with its beachy vibes and byron bay esque aesthetic. With its bright interior, natural timber finishes, rattan pendant lights and rattan mirror. I loved the look and was surprised to hear that the cafe is currently undergoing renovations as it looked pretty schmick already. Will be interesting to see what they do design wise.The cafe also had a retail space stocking the Huskee Cup, Good X Karma products as well as MAYDE tea and True Protein powders. You can grab any of this to go for yourselves or a gift.We were there for a coffee, which they make with Convoy Commune’s own signature blend using a blend of specialty beans from Brazil, Costa Rica and Ethiopia. An interesting flavour of malt and chocolate. We enjoyed the coffee.We didn’t have food on our visit but they have a range of fresh and healthy dishes including açai bowls, sandwiches, bacon and egg rolls, a rotating salad choice from the window and some mighty fine sounding smoothies.The cafe was extraordinarily busy given the surf event in addition to the neighbourhood locals and runners, but we appreciated being informed of wait time and they did super well in getting things out promptly.We look forward to seeing their renovations and visiting next time we’re in the area.

In a city full of cafés I can say for sure Convoy Commune is hidden gem.Super Charming and local small café.there you can find a simple but great menu and an amazing coffee.

Nestled on a relatively quiet corner considering its proximity to Merewether Beach. Two large glass entry doors offer ample sun light to bathe and soak the trendy modern cafe interior. Jason offers wonderful customer service and the coffee is one of the better coffees Ive had in the area!

Convoy is my new local spot! Im a judge-y coffee drinker and this is hands down some of the best. An awesome, chilled out atmosphere, with friendly people. Great spot to take my laptop, have a meal, and get some work done... Exactly what the area was lacking!

These guys are great, fantastic coffee. You could mistake the place for a model / influencer shoot. Every girl with her leopard print active wear, spends hours sipping on an almond latte after a long morning in front of the mirror.

Juices are next level! People and environment are just fab, best community! Had 3 iced coffees this morn because they were that scrumptious. Highly recommend. New fave chill spot

This is hands down the best coffee in Merewether! Helps that it’s always served with big smiles from some absolute legends too. Great spot to grab a caffeine hit on the way to the surf - stoked these guys are part of our community now!

This local has all the elements of a quality cafe, place to hang and drop in....prime location, relaxed atmosphere , quality coffee & tasty eats. The staff are experienced , providing great service & definitely contribute to the good vibes. Also importantly we can hang in the sun & grass for dogs to chill.
