Very much overhyped!! The rates are high, quantities are compromising. There are many places, which actually serve good food at a much cheaper rate. But yes, there is a history around this place. So, one should definitely visit once in a lifetime to witness that.As on April 2021, I ordered bhat, dal, note shak machheer matha diye, pabda machher jhal and aamer chatni. The pocket pinch was Rs. 220/-. I found it not satisfactory.
The food quantity was very less, the dishes are overpriced. taste was not satisfactory too.we ordered 2 plates of chicken curry, the price was 90 but the chicken pieces were only bones with no solid pieces.the ambience is ok but the charge is too high for a hotel of such level.
It has a seating capacity of 25-30, is clean and hygienic, service is prompt and behaviour is nice. Vegetarian food is of good quality, not spicy but tasty. Around half a dozen fish items were available when I visited along with chicken and mutton. So, it is worth a visit. By Kolkata standard this hotel is not cheap, but going by the quality of food on offer, it is not overpriced either.
Price was very high.Food taste was not so good.Quantity was also very less.
5 years ago I had visited this place n 2 days back I visit here....huge difference..it is now a simple hotel.with no variety of food.dont waste your time, dont go
Heard a lot about this hotel. But I did not like the hotel as their price and quality not up to the mark to me. There are no meal system. You have to pay individual items. Also quantity is less.
For tasty and yummy food must try.
Proper bengali restuarant
Nice place. But chicken curry was slight sweet.
This my 1st and last visit..not recommended
This place had always been favourite haunt of mine while frowning up in Kidderpore. Went back after 12 years and was very happy to find the place still there. The quality of the food is great and very well made. Absolutely authentic Bengali fare is served. However, the place has become very expensive. It wasnt this expensive before. But the food quality is, again, still very good.s
I have been going to this place from 1962, maybe once in two or three years, for some very personal reasons of yesteryear’s. Quality has been going down over the last five years. This year was the worst experience I ever had. Maybe the Management is finding it difficult to sustain the present high prices of raw materials and manpower.
This restaurant has its roots in pre-independent India. It still serves staple good old Bengali food at affordable rates and comfortable ambience. Young Bengal is conveniently located with the facility of home delivery.
One of the best place in Kolkata for having Bengali cuisine. It follows the famous Kolkata Pice Hotel rules. Monday closed. Avoid Saturdays since the food quality does not remain same. Best for Tuesday to Friday lunch hours. Fish items are excellent. Must try once if you love Bengali cuisine.
Service very good. All food good taste . Item type also good. overall its a very good hotel.
Great food at a reasonable rate. Good seating for a pice hotel and the food has less spicy thus homely.
Very poor disheartening experience. Very costly in comparison to the ambiance and quality of the food. Rude behavior . They even charge separately for the banana leaf they provide for sérving. Poor hospitality. Recommended not to visit.
A good hotel with nice staff
Service was very poor, pathetic. Though the hotel was not very crowded but I had to wait for atleast 20 mins to catch someone who took my order. At one point of time, I thought I would leave without having my lunch here.Quantity and taste wise foods were ordinary. I had more expectations from this hotel but overall I am very disappointed.
Loved the food . It provides variety of Bengali foods . You can have a good launch at 100 rupees per person. I will definitely visit again.
Love the place. But food is too much high pricing. Not worthy for pet pujo. Taste detoriates now a days.
Not so good compare to food price.zero star,if owners want can improve service.people only go as no alternative for lunch near by.
Overall satisfied. But the place lacks maintenance, bit untidy.
Poor food quality even worse than Street side stalls, highly expensive in respect to presentation and appearance. They charge separately even for the banana leaf they use for serving dishes. Poor ambiance and rude behavior. All over worst experience from a pre Independence restaurant. highly recommend not to visit this place.
Its a place near kidderpore more. Opposit to kidderpore ac market. The place is a bit hard to find. The price of the food is high compared to the quality of the food. Ambiance used to be good. The charge for everything except water.
A vintage bengali restaurant of old taste. A mediocre eating place for conventional bengali cuisine.
Good bengali food...price quite high
Great Food...rate is moderate but quality is very good and so hygenic. Owner need to moderate outer view so that more customer will attract
Authentic Bengali home made food... Homely atmosphere.... Just dig in.
Perfect place for authentic Bengali food but price are bit higher
Great experience .Seems like home made food
Very ancient pice hotel. Good for meals.dinner. traditional Bengali cuisine at reasonable price.
Very nice place for simple Bengali dishes I love it
A bit overhyped. Overpriced compared to quality and ambience.
Quality is OK. Like homemade. Quantity is low specially rice. Overpriced.
An excellent place offering bengali dishes. Can be considered as a heritage restaurant. A bit costly on the pocket as one will have to pay for everything even the kolapata.

Very expensive, they even charge for banana leaf ,how 1 papda fish, 1 plate rice and mango pickle could be Rs 160,and even taste is not better, I will get much more tastier food in many hotels at kolkata in Rs 60 at most
