A slightly unique experience. Pigeons are one of the main highlights πŸ•ŠοΈ. There are a lot of pigeons all over here. Earlier I used bring wheat and feed it to pigeons. They used to sit on my hands, head, shoulders, but now I dont know why they dont encourage it. Even not allowing to take any photographs of the place 😰. They are so strict, that they even scolded me πŸ˜–πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. Temple is so spacious. A conveniently large parking space is provided by the temple and is always crowded with people whenever I visit πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ. I think the best time to visit the palace is during early mornings. Dressing code is also there I guess. But when I visited no one really seemed to follow it. Trousers, jeans, lungi, pants, shirts are not allowed inside the temple. Dhoti and mundu (traditional wear) are to be worn as per temple rules. Coconut, oil, ghee, lemon garlands etc are available to purchase from the temple itself. And if lord Genesha finds you as lucky, you might get uniappams! πŸ€ͺ

Famous Ganapathy temple in Ernakulam. Good atmosphere and positive vibes without doubt. Due to covid darshan available from outside only. Darshan time morning 5.30 to 7.30(I saw it in the board). Car and bike parking available and it is fine with normal occasions. Two entrances are there. One from front and it is the normal one, from backside it is allowed but it is private road. If you going to write receipt (cheettu) for any prasad, it will take long time. The writer is taking lot of time to write your name and star (First I thought he was writing an essay). Overall good ambience and experience.

Calm place for worship.Edappalli Maha Ganapathy temple is a private temple of Edappalli swaroopam (Royal family). But, public can have darsan and offerings here. In the morning devotes can reach near the Sreekovil upto 7.30 am only. This is situated in the heart of the city. But the place is calm and free from disturbing noises. Surrounded by lot of trees, the atmosphere is greeny. Facade, murals in the front wall etc are very attractive and elegant. Appam prasadm is famous. But, you have to book for this offering in advance.

It was believed that the God Himself once appeared before the Edappally Swaroopam while performing the Ganapathy homam and accepted the offerings. This Shrine is referred to in the famous Aithihya Mala (Garland of Legends), the work of the famous author of Malayalam literature Kottarathil Sankunni.Pants and shirts are not allowed inside and you need to wear the traditional dress - mundu.Devotees are permitted inside the sanctuary in the morning from 5.00AM to 7.30AM and can have a closer view and can do the pradikshanam, but after 7.30AM, no one will be allowed inside as it is allotted for the visit of members from Edappally Royal family. During this time, devotees can have darshan from outside the sanctuary.Lot many vehicles, mostly directly from the showrooms, are brought here for pooja (vahana pooja). The main offerings here are coconuts (naalikeram udakkal), Ganapathy homam, unniyappam, udayasthamana pooja, but, except the first, make sure to do the bookings well in advance in order to have the same in a particular date. This is one of the must see temples in Kerala.
