I visited Amarillo on Thursday for the first time. The cocktails were great and atmosphere warm and ambient. Most the staff were really welcoming, although I didn’t have the best experience with one of the servers named Louie. I found him quite rude and unwelcoming. I felt I was inconveniencing him when I asked for a drink. Besides the rude server I think all the other staff were fantastic. I will definitely return but not on a Thursday..

Amarillo does all things well and evenly. It isn’t an obvious wine bar but when assessed on the breadth of grape-based beverages it trumps most others. Aperitifs may be a Manzanilla sherry from Sanlúcar de Barrameda or a tumbler of white port over ice from Porto. Proceed through to digestives and stickies like Pedro Ximenez stopping for an Austrian rose along the way. The wines are more continental than local and the food is a riff on Catalonian guerrilla cooking with most dishes small to shareable. Amarillo is a Melbourne bar at its best: small but highly curated, warm but professional, with a smart and sophisticated fit-out that’s ultimately warm and welcoming.

Just a classy, well-balanced bar. Happy hour is, actually, happy. The staff are great and always seem like theyre always in a good mood. That seems to reflect a really great set of owners/managers that make everyone feel at home.

If your looking for a non-binary experience, in non-binary Brunswick then Amarillo is where you go. You get to sit and enjoy their top rate coffee, whilst watching the Brunswick tram go past on Brunswick St. Everything that you have heard about Brunswick is true. Well worth the visit. Oh, and the staff were great.

Cozy bar/restaurant with mood lighting and timber accents. Good range of quality tapas, simple yet refined so you can taste the flavours. We especially liked the padron peppers and moorish pork. Fancy cocktails and friendly service. Nice little gem.

We visited tonight when Ella Mittas was in the kitchen cooking some special Greek meze. Great atmosphere and the staff made us feel real special. Tonight was a special chef pop up (food is normally Spanish tapas).

Great vibe, delicious food, good service and a great selection to just kick back and relax. With a relaxed vibe catering to meeting up and having a drink, its a great spot to watch the world pass by.The menu selection is great for sharing and caters to many different tastes. The gnocchi was delicious!If you are in the mood for a beer and a chat or a late night cocktail this little bar is well worth stopping in and saying hi.

We came in for a happy hour drink on Valentine’s day without reservations. The lovely waitress found us a good table, recommended and explained cocktails and entrees and made a start of the evening easy and beautiful.Thank you guys, we will come back for that lovely Negronis and to have a proper dinner.

Lovely layout, decor and perfect romantic lighting. Staff were delightful and the drinks list was delicious. I cant wait to go back!

Lovely atmosphere. Great service and attentive staff. Thank you to the lovely bar tender who accommodated my fiance with his food allergy and made us some amazing cocktails. I suggest the Mixed platter, and Paprika fries, delicious!!! Well be back again!

Service and ambiance were great. Drinks were spectacular, I had the Penicillin and loved it! Most of the food was pretty good but a few of the dishes were overly salty. Was not too loud on a Saturday night, which was very nice.

Great bar on Brunswick St with a wonderful old world vibe about it. Whats not old about it however is the food menu, imaginative dishes like the eel pate. Whod thought eel could taste this good?

Friendly staff, prompt service and a nice quaint style and most importantly, great quality coffee. Surprisingly cheap too. This is one of the better cafes in Melbourne, which is saying a lot.

This was a really nice lounge - like place to have a drink and chat with your mates. Unlike many of the other bars or similar in the area, this place had a very chill, relaxing vibe to it where the music isnt entirely too loud so you didnt have to shout to each other the whole night. In fact we think we might have been too loud :) The drinks were well made and the service was good too. Would return.

Beautiful wine bar with some great natural wines, yummy bar snacks and a RAD interior - 70s home style. Perfect low key local Fitzroy vibe.

Nice little bar on busy Brunswick St. Love the drinks and beer selection. Really good service highly recommended. Food is good but a bit pricey... give it a go if you are in Fitzroy.

Great little bar with amazing happy hour

The service was really good as was the Chai Latte. Lovely. Ordered the bagel with baked eel, pickles and horseradish sauce and was extremely disappointed. At first, I thought that they had neglected to put the eel on the bagel but it was explained to me that the eel came in the form of a pate. It wasnt even this- i received a warm bagel with a runny mayonnaise. Not nice to look at, no flavour and could only taste the pickles.

Amarillo does a solid house negroni and smokey negroni and has a good selection of other cocktails and wines. The paprika fries, mixed meats and cheeses go down perfectly when having a few drinks. The venue is nice, staff friendly, has table service and reasonably priced. Been here multiple times and highly recommended.

Interesting menu. Todays specials include reinforced cauliflower, sardines with ink, artichoke, almond (plus others) They do cocktails and also beer in a relaxed cosy atmosphere.

Low vibes. Friday night drinks and the music was too quiet. Overcharged 1 cocktail on PayPass and only realised later.

Cosy little bar in a prime location on Brunswick St. Bar staff are very knowledgeable and mix great drinks. Food is nice but very expensive and the sizes are small.
