I was pleasantly surprised by this clinic, I got the doctor I originally spoke to on the phone. I had a pretty traumatic experience getting my IUD inserted several years ago and of course was absolutely terrified to get it removed. The doctor was so incredibly understanding and walked me through the process before and while she was doing the removal. It was super simple and only took about 5 mins once I was done crying reliving the insertion process. I wont say Ill ever recommend getting an IUD, but Id highly recommend going here for all your IUD removal needs. Thank you for caring about your patients and being so kind.

This is hands down the best medical office I’ve ever been to. I’ve been going here for over 5 years and have always had great interactions with the staff.My GP Dr Yao is amazing and I have always felt like she really listens and really cares.Even if I have to see another Dr. I’ve always had thoughtful and thorough care. I’ve recommended this office to several friends who also have had great experiences.This office also helps train new doctors and I feel privileged to be able to work with the next generation of medical professionals.Also a shoutout to the other staff, they’re friendly, well trained, and really help make your first few moments in the office less stressful.The office is also in the same building as a pharmacy with great staff as well that deserve their own 5 star review

My family doctor is Dr. Hoffart, and the patient portal enables me to communicate with her incredibly well! She has always advocated for me, helped me along, and I literally trust her with my life! Other members of the team can also cover for her, as they are perfectly collaborative, and they have never failed to be compassionate, timely, and helpful. I am actually shocked at how great my Shifa healthcare experiences have been! But mostly, I am always amazed by my awesome doctor! I am truly grateful, and wouldnt go anywhere else, or send my family anywhere else. World class healthcare, right here. Thank you!

This clinic is great! I had such a positive experience here with Dr. Hoffart and her resident Dr. Faulkner. They were both personable, knowledgeable, and overall really kind and took their time with any questions or concerns that I had. I’ve honestly never felt so comfortable in a doctors office before. It can be so daunting walking into a new doctors office sometimes and I’m so relieved with this experience. I definitely recommend this clinic.

Dr.Hoffart takes care of myself and family, like no other. Her compassion & empathy blends well with her professionalism. The clinic is clean and front staff are friendly. Treat people the way you want to be treated and Wah-Lah= great service.

Dont come here unless you want to be humiliated for your health concerns. As a women its difficult enough to find doctors that take you seriously, for the sake of your mental health, skip this place.

I went in as a walk-in, I had the best experience. They got me in super quick, and really went above and beyond. My experience with Dr. Polley was fantastic, very understanding to my concerns and really did everything she could for me. I can’t express how happy I am with my walk-in experience here!

This clinic is great! My doctor is very knowledgeable and kind. It is easy to book an appointment online and the wait time is never long to get it. Sometimes even with an appointment it can be a wait, but that is expected in this profession. They are busy people, always looking out for others :)

Dr. Liu is the most amazing Doctor I have ever met. She is genuinely caring and she has a sharp memory. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and she is careful with how she prescribes. I admire how Doctor Liu searches for the most natural method of cure, before prescribing an unnatural solution. The office itself on the other hand, could use a little work in customer service. Front end staff is not super friendly and I have had some issues with their organization skills.

The person sitting at the front desk is so unprofessional. Very rude and just hang up the phone without saying nothing. Not customer oriented!!!

Great service here! Quick booking, they booked me in less than a week after I phoned and amazing and friendly staff. They made sure I was comfortable and knew what was happening during my whole procedure. Would definitely recommend them to a friend!

Called the office and ask if they are accepting new patients. The receptionist said yes they are....they have a female doctor accepting new patients. When I asked to book an appt, she said NO, she needs my full name first and the doctor will decide if she wants to see you...I then asked how can the doctor determine if she is going to see new patients by looking at their first and last name and then call me back if she likes my name? The receptionist said yes the doctor decides , whats your name? The receptionist was very rude, and asked me where am I from.... How can a DR decide who she sees based on a name and phone number and where Im from ???? This office should be immediately SHUT DOWN ... They should not be screening who they see based on first and last names... that is an unprofessional way of profiling, .... borderline racial profiling, if they are only booking certain names that seem suitable for this female doctor....

Dr Khan and Richard straught (I believe I spelt that wrong, its been a while) were very incompetent. They made you keep coming back and would string you along yet couldnt solve simple things. Dr. Polly was helpful.

I recently met with a new family doctor at this clinic after a few walk in appointments. The front down staff are friendly and efficient and any doctor I have seen here has been courteous and thorough. I recently brought my small daughter in for a sensitive matter and all of the staff that interacted with her made her feel so comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

Can I give less than one star? I went to this place for multiple tears in my meniscus.They referred me to a neurologist due to left leg weakness (even though this was a prior problem) before addressing my knee. The neurologist & my personal physician were surprised of the inappropriate referral. I called back as I had no response for a couple of days, called twice more & to date have NEVER hear back from this physician or his staff after 3 weeks. Definitely would not recommend Shifa Medical and doctor Khan, especially. Extraordinarily rude staff at the front desk too! Be careful.I ignored the bad reviews I saw on here before I went and I regret it. Shouldnt have gone to Shifa medical! There are so many clinics in the area. Just go to one of those.

Extremely frustrated with the walk-in system here. I called around 1:30pm inquiring about the walk-in schedule and was told Doctor start taking walk-in from 3:00pm. Arrived at 3:06pm and was told to expect 2 hours wait time since there’s two patients ahead of me and Doctor also have appointments to take care. I can understand and appreciate the heads up of the wait time but why is the Doctor taking appointments and at the same time walk-in? It is now 5:30pm been waiting for almost 2 1/2 hours. Not even one of the 2 patients ahead of me been called in.

The only clinic that we could find open on boxing day. The ladies at the reception were very nice. The doctor was great

Our family has been seeing Dr Hoffart for about 5 years now. She is an exceptional family dr and consistently goes above and beyond for us. I highly recommend her.I have read reviews stating the front end staff is rude, this has not been my experience at all. They are always friendly and have frequently helped me with my two young toddlers.I do find if you have an appointment later in the day, the doctors are behind schedule due to walk-ins. So I book my appointments early in the day and find the wait times are better.

Was seeing Dr Osman then she left. Then was referred to Hoffart. Cant get an appointment at a reasonable time during the day and have to wait for hours for an appointment if I walk in. Have had appointments cancelled just after I book them. Terribly unprofessional. I own my own paramedical practice and Shifa is a gong show.

Dr.Hoffart is a phenomenal doctor and I love going to the clinic. I trust her with mine, my baby, and my husbands needs and health. Will continue to recommend her and the clinic.

Usually the clinic is very good. Lately there have been excessive wait times for walk in patients. I was here on the 29th of Jan as a walk in and had to wait for two hours from 4pm-6pm. In this time there were about 5 people ahead of me and by the time 6pm came around, there were still 5 people ahead of me. I came in the next morning at 9 (when they open) only to find out that the doctor doesn’t show up till 10 and they don’t take walk ins even though their sign says they accept walk ins at 9.To be fair I understand the limitations of doctors to patients, but it’d be nice if they were upfront about how long it’s going to take and if they will take in walk ins so it saves you a 40 minute drive in the snow.

The clinic/ doctors just find any excuse to charge the patient. Dr Ho is incompetent, rude, unprofessional and so is staff.

The physician was very kind and attentive. I came in with the intention of getting a reference for a specialist but I was very pleased to see that she was able to help with most of my needs. In addition, the clinic found a specialist for me and scheduled an appointment for just four weeks out. The wait times are not as bad as most places but sometimes if its a weekend you may have to wait an hour on top of the scheduled appointment time but still it is better than most places.

These guys are extremely unprofessional. I had to wait for 20 minutes after even being scheduled for an appointment. I received a text from them that if I miss my appointment I will get charged $50. How about my time now? And the front desk ladies are extremely rude and they are part of the unprofessionalism as well. I spoke to them and asked them about manager’s email or phone number they gave me their own email address and a fake phone number. The manager name is Ali.Just a suggestion for you guys to only go there if you are literally dying otherwise there are much better doctors and clinics in the neighbourhood.

The staff we very accommodating to me as a new patient. I was able to see Dr. DeJager within 2 days as my family doctor is fully booked for a month. Very good staff. The doctor was very approachable and the staff are very friendly.

Just recently switched to this clinic and found a family doctor. I made 2 appointments here and both times waited over an hour to see a doctor. I understand that doctors are busy and sometimes you cant control if a patient takes more time than needed but if I made a appointment I shouldnt be waiting over an hour. Definitely not coming back.

All I can say is that the Clinic is very clean. I have seen Dr. Khan a couple times. she is very compassionate and caring. I never had any problems. I would recommend this clinic over any other clinic in South side.

Shifa is clean and in a good location. The doctors I have seen here have been good. There are a couple doctors here who do IUD insertion, which can be difficult to find. You can expect a long wait whether you come as a walk-in or you have an appointment.

Dr. Osman is the best Dr. that I have my entire life I just dont want to loss her where ever she goes.But, One the front staff is horrible, no manner and unprofessional for that position. She is asking a patient the reason of the visit while the patient is sitting on the waiting room in front on everybody out loud. She should know better about confidentiality.

Just changed doctors and I was shocked with how wonderful my first experience at Shifa was! Dr.Yao is compassionate, understanding and very knowledgeable! Staff was polite and friendly :) and I only waited about 15 minutes. Super impressed!

If you made an appointment, expect to wait an hour past your appointment time before they bring you in. The sign says walk ins welcome and I watched them turn away everyone who walked in. They said the doctor was too busy. There was one person in the waiting room the entire hour we were here. If you’re in the area, try Gateway Medical Clinic. Way shorter wait times and faster service all around.

Medical staff were unprofessional, treated as if I was interrupting their break time instead of actually assessing my medical concerns. I was initially seen by a nurse that continued to roll her eyes when I was further describing the symptoms Ive had for the past week. The staff doctor then came into the room and equally dismissed my concerns as if it wasnt a good enough reason to investigate or treat. Definitely seems like this clinic only cares about money and budget rather than patient care.Edit: I was writing on behalf of my younger sister, Chantelle, who went to the clinic recently... That reply was saltier than my initial post. Still unprofessional and inappropriate.

Dr Uzma Khan is my doctor. Has been since she was in the Kingsway area over a decade ago. From 2016-2018 I took a job 5 hours north, still gladly drove the 5 hours each way to see her. Ive cried in her presence dealing with my moms experiences with cancer and my own health concerns; she is always empathetic and takes real care in her work. Yes, sometimes you wait past your appointment time or a couple hours for walking in, but once you are in, she gives you her full attention. A quality doctor!The reception staff, its really hit or miss. Have had a few instances where I was disappointed/upset with their level of service and professionalism. Some people are just not cut out for the medical field, even if theyre just reception.

Dr Khan is great, but when I call too have my prescription refilled they want to charge me $25 before they fax off my prescription.Pretty freaking sad. Money over health

Hate it here. I only went because it was down the road from my work but I regret stepping foot inside. I waited over 30 mins for a signature on a doctor’s note and they only got it to me after that long because I was getting impatient and the receptionist finally got off her chair to follow up with the doctor. She came back two minutes later with no apology for the wait but thankfully she had the note. Why she couldn’t get up and get it from the doctor personally the first time I asked is beyond me. The first time I asked about the wait she looked at me like I came out of thin air and rudely asked “Can I HELP you??”. I get that the doctor had more patients but I waited 1 hour and 15 mins just to see her and then another 35 minutes just to get the signature. It takes two seconds. They just don’t care at this clinic, unfortunately.

I had a very poor experience at this clinic. I googled it and read they advertise ‘walk ins welcome”. They also have large signs at the front door stating “walk ins welcome”. I arrived at 8:50am as they open at 9:00am. I went in to an empty waiting room, spoke with the receptionist only to find that they don’t accept walk in’s until noon. I asked the question.., where is that posted?? I was told they don’t post it because they don’t know doctors schedules. How stupid is that??? I brought my son out in -24 weather to see a doctor and get some assistance! Had I known that they had limited hours for walk in’s I would have gladly taken him elsewhere. The receptionist went and spoke to the one doctor in the office, who only takes appointments, to see if she would see my son, she declined to help us stating she was fully booked. That is simply ridiculous, there wasn’t a car in the parking lot or one person in the waiting room. Don’t advertise walk ins welcome when quite obviously they are not. False advertising and very misleading. Poor customer service with absolutely no respect or regard for people’s time. There are three other medical clinics in a very close proximity to this center that actually offer “walk in’s and are true to their word and are committed to patient care. Don’t waste your time going to this medical clinic.In response to the comment from the owner..... It doesnt matter where the Doctor was when we went to the clinic. The point is, stop advertising as a walk in clinic when you are not prepared to offer one. If you have limitations as to when you can offer one then have the decency to post those hours so that people are aware and dont waste their valuable time.As far as the Doctor being with a client, that was not correct, the receptionist went down the hall for 2 minutes then came back and said No, she said she is fully booked, The Doctor wasnt even with a patient at that time and there was absolutely no one in that office. All the Doctors and staff are friendly, take you concerns seriously, and obviously care about your health. On one occasion I needed an drivers medical and one of the doctors who wasnt working, but had stopped by briefly, overheard I needed a medical. Knowing it would be quick, she took did the medical on her day off!

Dr Hanna Yu is very unprofessional. She not even know how to do breast exam.I am going to file a formal complaint against her.Please don’t go to this clinic, they just do test and ultra sound make money out of you, doctor in this clinic know nothing.

False advertising for a “walk ins welcome”Experienced a traumatic situation at work and wanted to go in and make sure everything was fine (I am a flight attendant and prepped a plane full of people for an emergency landing)Doctor on duty refused to take a walk in. My experience with Dr. Hoffart was excellent - she was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The clinic was clean, staff were nice and I was in and out of the clinic in about 30 minutes.

Worst clinic in Edmonton. I was a walk-in and the receptionist told me to wait for 2hours which I did. After 2 hours of waiting she is telling me that there are 5 more appointments and she is not sure when will they take me in. Unfortunately I got Dr. Asifa Riaz for the second time. The worst possible doctor you could ever go to. She honestly does not care and is not knowledgeable. Dont waste your time if you get her just simply ask for another doctor to help.Once I came in for severe back pain for a year at least. Im like I think this could be serious its better if I do a scan on my back so all she did of course is suggest massaging it and off you go. THIS time i came in for a lot of stomach pain and migraines on daily basis so of course all she did is tell me to take Tylenol and to stay hydrated as she kept repeating herself when i tell her its been going on for a while now and heading to the door to escort me out after a 2 minute appointment.

The Doctors here are great. However the office staff is HORRIBLE. I have had to call repeatedly (5+ times) to obtain referrals on MORE THAN ONE occasion, they do not follow up as they say they will regarding lab/imaging work, never know what is going on when you call for bookings/replying to messages, and once even called to instruct me to go to an referral appointment – THAT HAD BEEN FOR THE MONTH BEFORE.It is truly unfortunate that such great doctors are missing out/losing patients because of the abysmal office staff. I have been waiting since 2014 for these things to improve, and with the seemingly high office employee turnover, service remains terrible.

Really good walk in experience. I was scared of my weight being used as a scapegoat, but the doctor didnt even mention it. I genuinely felt like she paid attention to my medical history and provided me with exactly what I wanted going in. The receptionists are also really nice and organized.

Highly suggest, every doctor, staff and management member are very skilled and caring. Even in times where they are exceptionally busy, they have been really great in providing the best service possible.

Visited this on Sunday 4th. As I walk in patient, I was told that the waiting time is between 1.5 to 2 hours. The clinic has a nice layout and easily located, however, the so called receptionist/office assistant needs to be taught the basics of customer service and how to speak to people. She did really bad and looked overwhelmed while doing admin work. So after approximately an hour and thirty five minutes, I asked the so called receptionist how much longer do I need to wait, and said that the waiting time is now longer than two hours....I can see that in addition to the rude reception staff, the waiting time is one of the most pressing issues raised by Google reviewers. Yet, the management has done nothing to address these two issues. Anyone with a basic business knowledge would at least have more doctors available to reduce waiting time, and hire receptionists with some people skills, to stop bad reviews like mine from coming in!!!!!I will not be using this clinic again and I will certainly not recommend it to others.

Honestly, what the heck is the point of EVER BOOKING an appointment?? Yal have no regard for people’s time! Waiting an hour when you booked an appointment, just for the doctor to come into your room and say “I have another patient to see first” and then leave, is freaking stupid. Terrible service. I went in, it was clean, the staff at the front were very polite and the doctor I saw was Dr. Jacques de Jager and he was attentive, listened to me completely, he knew what he was talking about and made sure I was taken care of and made sure if I needed I could come in and follow up with him.

I had a great experience. My appointment was late but I booked at the last minute and the walk in’s were behind. Another doctor pitched in to help catch up. Dr Polly was fantastic, she took the time to discuss her diagnosis and give me options for treatment. The wait for my appointment was 45 mins but way less then had I gone to ER or medicenter.

Dr. Yao Ying is literally the best family doctor Ive seen so far. Very nice and approachable. Unlike many other family doctors, she takes the time to get to know you and doesnt give out unnecessary lab requisition or services that you dont need. Definitely a very good family doctor to have!

Would give this 0 stars if I could. Booked appointment for 11:30, never saw doctor until 12:30 but the clinic was completely empty. Doctor was not helpful whatsoever, rushed me out, and I was given no prescription for my strep throat. Would never recommend anyone to go to this clinic.

Update - do not go here. Dr is now refusing to see me because shes not around enough and I need to get a faxed prescription. Absolutely terrible.Dr Yao is without a doubt the worst doctor I have ever had to work with. She tells me to come in every month for new prescriptions and then disappears for weeks at a time. For the last 5 months Ive been left without access to my medications because shes never in the office when Im told shell be available, so Im on my meds for a month and then off for a week. Im appalled at how little she seems to care for her patients and I will not be returning to her. I would absolutely not recommend her or this office. Even when I do manage to make an appointment, Im made to wait an hour, and then she treats me like I have no idea what Im talking about.

Doctor was rude and condescending even though the patients were following a physicians direction. The doctors general attitude made the patient feel as if they were a bother and wasting the doctors time.Despite having family doctors and dental office, the building is not father friendly as there is no changing tables in the mens washroom. Had to change my newborn on the small sink counter top.

Dr. Khan is fantastic. I like her because she cares a lot for her patients.

Dr. Uzma Khan and Dr. Roni Kraut are absolutely amazing! They are lovely health care practitioners who truly take the time to listen to you, hear what you’re going through and are extremely kind, caring, and professional throughout the process. If I lived in Edmonton I would definetly make one of them my personal physician. I highly recommend them both!!

The receptionist was very rude. there was three of us waiting in line she asked who have an appointment the girl behind me did so she decided to talk to her first , then just looked at me and said you can come back in two hours. Did not ask my name or anything , i did what anyone would do and said well are you going to write my name at least , she took my name down at the end. But i felt very unwelcome there probably will not go back unless i dont have a choice. I only went there because the sign said wlkins are welcome very deceiving. Went in to see to doctor just to be told oh let waite two weeks and see if your symtomps get worse then we will do something about it. Just please if walkins are not welcome all you need to do is change the sign and everyone will make an appointment

I do not walk in. I make an appointment. My regular GP is here.Ive been waiting over an hour and theres no end in sight. This is common here.I regularly feel disrespected and rushed here.I take time off work - I book at their least busy times. Or the first appointment in the morning - and shes still an hour behind...only one way that happens. She is intentionally booking people when shes not going to be here yet. Yet, if Im an hour late for an appointment or make changes within a 24 hour window, they charge $50.

Extremely slow! Worst ever! Only been there twice, first time waited for 1 whole hour with an appointment, the reason given for the long wait was the doctor did not get a notice on her iPad when I was placed in the waiting room. Second time waited for 1.5 hours as a walkin with only 2 patients ahead of me. To the doctors at this clinic, if you are not capable of taking care of all the patients in a timely manner dont be greedy and stuff people into 15min time slots! Respect other peoples time!

Back in September I took both of. My kids a 3 yrs old and one yr old we were told the wait time will be an hour . We waited 3 hours, I had to come ask if we will ever be seen. Receptionist told me to keep waiting and it was no emergency. Mind you my one year old would occasionally have fits of coughing and would throw up. Didnt seem to have any impression on the staff there. I told my husband that we should go elsewhere.Today I made the mistake of giving them a second chance. Called in advance and was told to be there at 11:30. The moment I walk in am told no doctor would see me. I said I spoke with a receptionist and was asked to come at 11:30. They kept me waiting for 15 mins while they went in to ask if anyone would see me. The receptionist came back and asked why I wanted to see a doctor. I told her I had chest pain, have been throwing up, and a fever. I was coughing uncontrollably I could barely talk. She asked if I could come back tomorrow that the doctor would see me only if it was an emergency. I teared up and in my mind was how do you evaluate me if you dont even consult me. I was done. I WOULD NEVER recommend shift clinic to anyone. They are not compassionate , and are Cold and heartless. I left there soo disappointed. Have lived in Canada for 7years and lived in both China, germany. Have never ever felt this helpless. I usually dont do negative reviews but being to a medical institution and treated to poorly, I wouldnt keep quiet. If shifa were the only clinic functional in Canada I would rather die than go there again.

I started going to this clinic about a year ago and was originally really impressed. Very professional staff and they WERE quick.I have made 2 appointments in the last 4 months and have waited for well over an hour past my original appointment time. I kept getting told by the front desk staff 10 more mins after askinf 2-3 times when the Dr willl be by. I thought that by making an appointment I would not have to wait for an EXTRA hour to see my Dr.I think it would be VERY beneficial for them to tell you if they are running behind schedule. As I could at least show up for when the Dr. Will actually be seeing me.So if you are making an appointment here, make it for 30-60 mins before you will actually be there. At least you wont be sitting around waiting .

Horrible clinic, usually wait over an hour to see the doctor for only 5 minutes every time. The staff are clueless, confused and unhelpful. Ive seen Dr. Khan few times and has been rude and condescending every time. Will never go back there and not recommend to anyone.

Always waiting hours after my appointment time, great doctors but its so frustrating waiting so long after my appointment time everyone I come in.They need to stop over booking seriously.

My first appointment I had zero wait time, but this changed as time went on. Even with booking an appointment, I end up waiting 45+ minutes. I am not sure why the doctors are consistently off schedule but perhaps the allotted time for appointment needs to be reviewed. I don’t think myself or my family members will be coming back here.
