EN: Out of all the places in Bristol we chose to have our lunch here and we were pretty disappointed about the pizza. Even though they have a variety of doughs you can choose from ( with or without gluten, grain, wholegrain, sourghdough etc) the pizza was not great. We had the smokey one, the toppings were just slighting off the dough, the mozzarella was not great and had a weird texture as you were eating rubber and the sauce was all gooey and not very good quality. We had one shared pizza for two person and we didnt even finished it ( that says a lot)The waiting time was long ( 1h for one pizza) even though it was not that crowded; the prices reasonable; the serving was ok, the staff was friendly and polite. The espresso was good though ☕
Fantastic pizzas offered on a range of dough bases. All pizzas area reasonably priced at between £10-17. Their bases range from traditional sour dough to some quite unexpected doughs such as turmeric base and Kamut base (a slightly sweet and nutty buttery flavour and is ivory in colour).I tried two of their specials - Smokey and La Gina. While both excellent, the Gina was a type of pizza flavour and base I hadnt tried before and worth going for if in the area.Service was quick. We didnt book, but I think we were lucky to get a table at lunchtime. It did start to get really busy when we were seated.
Service was good, staff were friendly and food looked good. However, the wait for food was very long considering all that was ordered was a pizza and a lasagna. Like mentioned above, when the food came it looked good but wasnt great at all. The pizza was cooked and tasted alright but all the toppings were just falling off. The lasagna had no integrity to its structure, when cutting into it, it was completely mushy and overcooked. The taste of the cheeses on top overpowered the taste of the lasagna. The heat coming from the lasagna and its overall feel made it seem like the lasagna had just come out of a microwave and put on a different plate.
Very accommodating,Did not have a reservation on a busy evening and managed to get a table for us. The food is great you get a variety of choices for your pizza 🍕 “dough/base” we both just went for the (normal) sourdough base which was really tasty. Fast service and the pizzas were prepared fresh which was a really nice treat. For myself and my partner we had a homemade garlic pizza bread for starter (£5) and a homemade pizza each, one was pepperoni and the other was a meaty which had Italian sausage salami pepperoni and chorizo on it. The total bill including a 10% tip was a penny over £35. Which was a very fair price for a lovely meal out. I would definitely recommend this place!
We recently visited Dough as part of a Hen weekend. We had a wonderful visit to the restaurant a great experience on all levels. The pizzas were amazing, delicious and really unusual. The staff were so friendly, entertaining and informative about the food.I would recommend anyone coming to Bath to come here
Dough is a rare gem in Britain, the welcoming warm and friendly attitude of the staff the likes of which I havent experienced since I was a small boy travelling Europe. The dedication of the staff to the happiness of every customer. The impressive talent of the pizza chefs and the great food on offer for vegans and plant based alike while not expansive is so good youd be letting yourself down by not enjoying the experience of a meal at Dough. There are pizzarias and then there is Dough, a beautiful and heartwarming ode to traditional Italian food, culture and values, an evening out not to be missed! If youre lucky enough you may even be served by the inimitable Emanuelle.
Andrea was a very nice hostess today! Honest, friendly and professional! She gave us her opinion on all the food orders we made!Other than that, the waiting till the moment we ordered was a bit too long and to be honest the pizzas, although original thin crusted Italian could have been a little bit better!
We were greeted by smiles and welcoming faces. We could sit outdoors and indoors, due to the cold weather we sat indoors. Such a warm and modern atmosphere. The service was fast and the food was delicious! You could choose from a range of pizzas, all looking good and taste heavenly. Its a shame that its tucked away but that only makes it a secret location of food joy. Would recommend it to all pizza enthusiasts.
Food was lovely however rude waitress ruined our experience. She had an attitude since we arrived, she got our drinks order wrong and when we asked for what we ordered she told us we were wrong and we didn’t order those drinks. Shame as food was really nice but wouldn’t go back due to the way we were spoken to.
I had a 4 cheese pizza yesterday, Wednesday the 18th of August. For nearly £13 I think you could be a lot more generous with the cheese. It was very dry and had little taste.
Sensational! Pizza has always been my favourite food, and as Im lactose intolerant and have a gluten intolerance Ive tried many many different restaurants in search of a decent lactose free and gluten free pizza. Visited Dough at the weekend whilst visiting Bath and was utterly amazed. Best pizza Ive ever had, anywhere & anytime. Unbelievable. Good job I dont live locally, or Id end up the size of a house gorging on their amazing pizzas. Had chilli oil with it too, and even that was amazing ! The staff were wonderful, the place is super cool without being pretentious, and even the music selection was great. Forget even trying other places, nothing would beat the pizzas from here. Clearly, its a highly recommend from me!
Very disappointing. I arrived at 18.00, waitresses were very nice, took our order, drinks came instantly (⚠️bare in mind this day was 33C° there was air but it was like it wasnt there). Afterwards we were waiting and waiting and after 45 min we asked the waiter about our order, only to be told the order had not even gone through, at this point we shouldve left but I was hungry and couldnt be arsed to walk in the heat. After 1 HOUR 19.15, the pizza came, 5/10 pizza not too bad not too good but definitely not an hour wait long worth pizza. We asked for boxes and left. I wouldnt recommend unless you wanna wait for an hour.
Very friendly staff, serving delicious pizzas with very high quality toppings coming straight from Italy. The parmigiana and the nutella pizza were very tasty too. Highly recommended.
Very odd experience. Asked if they had a table to which the waitress replied I dont know where the chef is just sit in the corner She never returned to our table so I asked another waitress for the menu. When she came over she asked if wed been waiting long. So I replied yes and she asked how long(15 plus mins but I didnt tell her) so I said dont worry. She was polite and attentive. The food was disappointing (a very soggy pizza) and before we could finish the first waitress came over and plonked the bill down. We still hadnt finished when she returned with the card machine and said ready? Maybe it was a cultural thing as she was American. The second tall waitress with brunette long hair was excellent. If wed of just been served by her it would have been a more positive review.
Before the pandemic this was my favourite place, but now I don’t know what happened. Food quality dropped drastically! Pizza was extremely this, overcook and not as tasty as before. Although, the service remained as good as before.
Went there last night and I thought everything from the food menu to the decor was fantastic. The menu was laid out very clearly, they had a great different variety of dough and a selection of cheeses as an addon. Service was very friendly and efficient, prices were very reasonable. Drink selection was decent as well.
Place was fantastic for vegans/gluten free. Staff were so nice and the food was divine. Would go again and again.
Best pizza place ever! Also amazing choice for Gluten Free. We wish we lived closer so we could go more often.
Fantastic pizza with exciting dough options and really friendly staff. Nice selection of cocktails/spirits and a good atmosphere.
Lush lasagna and pizza the first time I went. Tried this restaurant a few weeks later with boyfriends parents but the lasagna portions came out much smaller than I remembered. The carbonara was also not that great (quite stodgy). The pizza was good though so its probably the safest thing to order next time.
Really great pizza and service.
Really interesting Dough selection, good Pizza offerings both unconventional and more classic. Lovely food, Could do with some more comfortable outdoor seating, but probably due to limited space.
Very dissapointing1st time back in quite a few years and was expecting the good pizzas I remembered from its early days.Ordered 2 specials, and the pizzas were soggy, luke warm, and not very nice tasting. Not bad enough to complain but bad enough that I wont go back and will not recomend this pizza restaurant to anyone I know.
Not your average pizza restaurant. Good portions for the price and excellent quality of food and service. Plenty of care and attention goes into making the food, with a range of unusual doughs available. The food is fresh and the ingredients are good. The owner/manager, a gentleman with glasses, is outstanding in his effort and attention to detail.I would wholeheartedly recommend visiting, and I will certainly be returning.
Excellent pizza here.Staff friendly and attentive.Roast potatoes on menu not very nice for me, expected to have crispy potatoes but what I had appeared to be boiled chopped new potatoes in olive oil then heated in oven, not crispy at all.Even Aunt Bessies better than these.Other than that I enjoyed the pizza.
The best pizza I have ever eaten. Great menu base ideas. Attentive service, delicious wine, vibrant urban location. Grazie mille.
Pretty good pizza and some appetizers, worth a stop for a nice lunch.
The pizza and service was exceptional. cordelia was wonderful and attentive. thank you!
Excellent all round! Food delicious (superb quality pizza bread/base & toppings), and the service being quick, efficient and with a smile - thank you, Sahara!Highly recommended!
We have eaten many pizzas in our lifetime, in UK and Italy. The pizza we enjoyed from this restaurant was absolute perfection in every way-crispy base, wonderful topping with lots of ingredients and flavour. We were given a warm welcome as soon as we walked in and they were able to add anchovies at my request, something which many other pizza providers have failed to do. Can’t wait to go back and we are already planning another trip to Bath just so we can experience more wonderful pizza.
Absolutely amazing gluten free pizza - one of the est
Really tasty pepperoni pizza, Parma ham warm sandwich (Lecce) and cocktails. Quick and friendly service.
Poor service, waitress forgot one of our orders and asked her several times as to how long it would be ... Had to ask another member of staff as it took to long to get a reply... Constantly told 5 minutes. Pasta was hard and very little flavor, we didnt have the pizza so maybe this is what its best for? One of the floor did try to rectify the issue in the end and as thoughtful as it was just to little to late. Presentation was good but that was about it.
Made my first stop for anniversary Dinner at dough today. the service was fantastic, staff were very polite and quick to serve. And the food was outstanding!!!After 12 months or more of no restaurants due to covid and what not.... this was no let down.
Absoulutley auwful pizza. The worse I have ever had. I paid nearly £18 for dry , hard with 3 prawns on it, looked like prepared earlier and served to us reheated. I would not reccommend
Poor service !We were there in a rather quiet evening during the week. The welcoming was great and the ambiance was good too. We sat down , few minutes later we ordered a bottle of Prosecco . All good until then so we thought we are going to have a great night, but i was wrong! We were waiting for more then 30 minutes for someone to take our order , and that’s because the waiters were too busy chatting at the bar. Finally we had our order taken. The pizza arrived relatively fast and although i can’t complain about the quality of ingredients both our pizzas were wrong! We were really hungry so we didn’t want to wait for another one. The waitress apologised for the mistake and said that will adjust this to the bill but obviously it didn’t happened and we had to mention about it. 10% service charge added on top of all of this? Service very poor , unprofessional not interested in guests at all.
Authentic Italian Pizza, great food, great service and decent prices. Worth booking in advance, it can get full, particularly in holiday season.
We always visit Dough pizza when we are in Bath! Great quality and the most friendly people!! Highly recommended!
Superb! Kingsmead Square could not have been more welcoming: super fast, friendly and fantastic pizza in a fresh, light and spacious restaurant. Highly recommend.
Took the plunge and tried the turmeric based pizza. Have to say we loved it. Great ingredients, interesting specials menu, speedy delivery. Radically delicious. Excellent to have such a great pizza option in Bath! Hope to pop in when youre open IRL again.
The best pizza I have ever had!!! They have a multitude of options. I had a vegan pizza and it was delicious!! My husband had a gluten free pizza and he said it was the nicest gluten-free base he has had in his life. We were both extremely happy with the food. The staff members were attentive and friendly. They answered any questions we had.You can also personalise your pizza from the base up. They have about 10 different doughs for you to choose from so even the fussiest of eaters can eat here.100% recommend!! We will be back!
Great pizza, friendly staff, a lovely place to eat!
The worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. Service was good but as a pizza restaurant that doesn’t add up to much.
The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Great food, amazing service. Gavino, Andrea and all the staff were very accomodating. Food was very authentic
The best authentic Italian pizza in Bath, very generous with their topping and perfect bases. The click and collect was easy, on time and had a bonus 20% off. Thank you!
Great place and very tasty Italian Pizza. Hi to Francesco from Marco and Chiara
The service was so quick and the staff were all lovely. For a place that is famous for its dough flavour choices there are some funny ones to choose from. Two people ordered the sea weed which is an extra 2 pound. The pizzas came, all superb! They were great, but when you tried the seaweed to the normal dough crust, minute difference in flavour but the colour was obviously green. Im presuming when the doughs are cooked it looses a lot of the original flavour, bravo for the effort. You do have to try this place because we all want to go back and try out the other flavours. Thank you for having us!
Fantastic food and service. Thoroughly recommended.
To be honest, we went with high expectation after reading all the good reviews...but it was an utter disappointment from the very beginning. We booked the table for 7:15 and dispite of the heavy rain, we tried to make it on time. When we arrived, there was no seat, which was understandable given the popularity of restaurants during this Eat Out to Help Out scheme. The rudeness started from outside as the the manager avoided acknowledging us while we waited and letting us know how long to wait for the table to be ready. When we finally got in, we ordered a pizza and FRITTO MISTO, according to the menu, it should be served on a seaweed bread boat, which echos the pictures I saw about this dish online from other reviews (shown below). We were not told at ordering that this would be any different from what is adertised on the menu. However, the dish arrived WITHOUT the breadboat... I enquired from the manager-looking person who brought the dish to us (A Rough looking man who hadnt bothered to wear a face mask like the others). He answered cutly that there was no such thing and walked away. We then asked another waitress, who explained that they had run out and it would be brought back next week. We decided to overlook the matter and carry on.On tasting the calamaris on the incomplete dish, we found that it was unbearably salty. We had to send it back with only one little piece tasted. When the dish returned now corrected, it had shrank with the prawns missing..... this was unbelievable disregard of customers. We do appreciate the waiter who served us for endeavouring to make up for all the damage caused by his managers rudeness and the kitchens incompetence. He offered to pack the re-cooked dish for us to take away for free. However, it was unacceptalbe to serve an incomplete dish without informing the customer thus taking customers for fools. By cutting out the key component of a main dish, it looks like starter-size, this was further downsized after sending it back for correcting the over-salty issue... We were not going to the restaurant for free meal to take away, we were going to experience an evening out. Unfortunately, it apears from recent reviews, this restaurants way of placating customer for their failing in the kitchen is to offer takeaways. It is a shame as it appears that they started and had been doing well. Unless there is improvement in attitude towards customers, there is no future for the place.
Good pizza but not usual combinations so if you want something less adventurous, this is not the place for you
Amazing vegan pizzas and lovely, attentive staff. Will definitely be back!
I am Italian and can easily state this was one of the best pizza I have ever had in my life! No pictures were taken because it was too good to stop eating! Dough was crisp and light, tasty and the toppings are abundant and high quality. I chatted with the owner Emilio and was so pleased with his service. Angelica made perfect pizza and I cant wait to recommend this place to everyone! I ordered A mortazza pizza and pizza dolceJust WOWI will come back to Bath just for this pizza. PURE. DELIGHT.
Brilliant little find! Best pizza I’ve had in the UK. There’s 8 choices of dough including seaweed and hemp options :) The ingredients are fresh and the balance between the base and toppings was perfect. Nothing worse than an overloaded pizza. If you fancy something different the beef carpaccio and cauliflower mouse were superb too.Very friendly team of servers! With the pudding if you have room - go for the Sorbetta 😊
Great food, lovely staff
Outstanding pizza! Great selection of flours used for different base options including a few different gluten-free options. Our server, Manuel, was great and offered advice on which flours work best with which pizzas. We only had a couple days in Bath and glad we chose to eat here! Thoroughly recommend.
Ate here post COVID lockdown with some friends. The service was a bit confused and the serving staff didn’t explain to us what we had to do - order via app opposed to through them. It would have been helpful for them to have spent less than a minute just telling us what we had to do.I had a calzone, which I found to be a bit underwhelming to be honest - it was not as tasty as I hoped, and whilst a calzone can be soggy, I felt this one had a lot of excess fluid inside. My friends had pizzas - apparently the Smoky is the best. If I came back I would stick to a normal pizza.
Great gluten-free base. Great dough in general living up to the name. Staff were super in accomodating when we wanted specific toppings. Great veggie options.
After ordering a takeaway for collection and still waiting for it after 45mins outside in the cold I am a little disappointed with the service and capability to be honest with the restaurant. New Kingsmead Square restaurant seems to be a let down.
We absolutely love coming to Dough, we found this little gem not too long ago and weve been so many times! The range of doughs is amazing, with seaweed being my favourite! All the waiters are so friendly and funny as well which adds to the beautiful ambiance of the small quaint little place! I rate this over the Dough in Bristol as it has way more character!! Will be visiting again as soon as lockdown is over!!!
This place offers the best gluten free pizza Ive had anywhere. I had a margarita on the purple maize crust and it was truly one of the best gluten free meals Ive had since I was diagnosed gluten intolerant 4 years ago. If youre celiac and visiting Bath, make this one of your stops! They have 4 different gluten free crusts. Ill definitely be back to try the others. Had to take an artsy pic to hide the fact I ate half the pizza already 😂 Sorry folks, it was that good.
We had a lovely meal at the Bath branch today. We had to book ahead because of Coronavirus but they had a table at the time that we wanted so that wasnt a problem. I chose Spaghetti Arrabiata, my husband had a Mediterranean pizza and my youngest son chose calzone. Unfortunately, my eldest son was a little disappointed with his purple corn base gluten-free Vegetariana pizza because it was quite bland. Overall we were very pleased with our meal and the service provided and would recommend this restaurant to others.
