Amazing place for lunch with an incredible view! We took a day trip to Bath and were not disappointed! The staff were super accommodating and friendly. We had three courses and each was delicious, they can even do the steak blue which shows the quality of their ingredients. My duck breasts plate came out fantastic too! Our puppy also had a fantastic time 🐢

Service was great and the outdoor seating had a spectacular view. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t quite up to standard. Came out luke warm and nothing really to write home about. Both the duck and lamb were overdone meaning they were tough and chewy to eat. Disappointing overall.Come here for the picturesque view and drinks, but maybe avoid the food unless you really are hungry.

I had a coffee meeting on a very busy sunny afternoon when many students and families were celebrating at the premises . The car park was full and the outside area on the balcony level and lower level were very busy with customers. We had a meeting in the back library area which was quiet. Staff seemed to cope reasonably well in spite of insufficient staff. This was reflected in the toilet areas which needed cleaning and rubbish removed. They tried their best and it will always be a lovely venue to visit.Photos taken previous day which was showery.

Beautiful place to eat and drink. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Has a large open space for outside dining with variable menus to suit all, top decking more choice, lower decking more suitable for families fresh pizzas looked amazing. Dog friendly and children welcome. We noticed a lovely hand made wooded play area for children for many hours of fun and to keep the children occupied whilst you take in the breathtaking views at the same time. Recommend and will return.

A chance find, but the H&H has the most spectacular view down to the outskirts of Bath, which can be enjoyed while supping local ale and treating yourself to some very high end pizza from the generous and immaculate garden. Onviously a bit of a place to be seen, and easy to understand why.

Stopped in to the garden after a day out in Bath. Beautiful garden with amazing view looking down over the valley. Large capacity with many many picnic tables on the decking and on the grass. The view from this wonderfully located is amazing, but the pub isnt just about the location. The building itself is a gorgeous, old building, tastefully decorated inside, but you will want to sit outside if the weather allows, to allow you to take in the view. Both terraces afford such views - the upper is to dine from the full pub menu, the lower for the outside bar and pizza oven. We sat at the lower and enjoyed really tasty pepperoni pizzas!

We had fabulous Sunday roast at the Hare & Hounds today, as we eat our way around Bath’s best roast dinners. This is a large pub on the top of a hill to the north of Bat, with wonderful views out over Charlcombe & Swainswick from their extensive patio eating area...and the sun was out today, making for a beautiful vista while guzzling though lunch. We had the β€œsharing roast” - combining chicken, beef and pork-belly on a big platter prepared for two. Served with the full monty of sides - roast potatoes, beans, kale, stuffing, carrots, gravy and more, it pushed every one of my taste buttons. I am not sure when I will need to eat again...definitely not today.Combine that with charming service, a good selection of beers and the beautiful location/view, and you have a 5-star experience.

This pub has a terrace with beautiful views over Bath. It is lovely and is the best point about the pub. Maybe I made a bad choice but the fish and chips was probably the greasiest battered fish I have ever eaten. I felt it was priced at restaurant level but quality was really poor. The loos were filthy but they did say they had staff shortages. I hate to give a poor review, I am only too aware it may have been a bad day, but honestly it was very poor when it could have been great if they stepped up to the natural advantage their position offers.

Came for breakfast, had a very nice time overall. Great atmosphere, with very friendly staff. Only issues I had were that the toast didn’t come buttered, which could definitely be fixed just by asking for some but still an extra step that could be avoided. I had also asked for a full english without mushrooms, which didn’t happen. But those are the only real issues I had, otherwise greatly enjoyed my meal. Would definitely come back again.

I came here with friends who are local and my wife. The four of us had a couple of drinks, starters and a main. When we arrived we asked if we could be seated outside. They were able to seat us on their terrace which was well covered and had a, really impressive view of Bath. The starters came and they were enjoyed by all, their 3 for Β£12 deal was well received. For mains we had the fish and chips, 2 burgers and a vegan burger. My wife is pregnant and asked for it well down, and the server remembered this and placed it with her without us reminding her.Really nice meals, all of us enjoyed. The service was brilliant, really attentive and we felt very looked after.Living far away, its a bit of a drive to get to here but in the future it woild be well worth the journey.

This pub has a beautiful view overlooking the valley. Unfortunately, the pizza I got was not exactly what I ordered. I paid for extra cheese and it didn’t come with any extra. The staff were very not accommodating, they argued there was extra cheese and we did not get a refund for the extra money paid. You also have to pay a tip in advice whilst ordering and at that point I didn’t know what the service would be like. Had I known, I wouldn’t have left a tip. Shame as it’s a lovely pub.

This is a great place to slip in for a mid morning coffee, lunch with nearest and dearest, a cheeky pint or something more substantial. Very, very disappointed with this pub, I booked a table 6 weeks in advance on the advice of bath tourist centre. I explained to the pub that it was a 50th birthday surprise, and arranged a table inside if it was raining or a table outside if it was a nice sunny day. I phoned 3 times in the run up and was assured and my mind pit to rest that we were going to be taken care of. Unfortunately that was not the case. Had to wait for a table which was inside on a very hot day, and I was told quite nasty there i nothing outside youll have to eat inside. I explained i had arranged a table 6 weeks previous. They could of so easily have reserved a table for our special occasion. Will not be eating there again.

I was so so excited to eat here after hearing about it from friends and seeing the view, but I was thoroughly disappointed. We arrived and sat down, the staff were good at taking us to our table and taking our drinks and food order. Our starter came on time and was good, however, after this things began to go downhill. After waiting for over an hour for our main we asked where the food was and the waitress told us that we were next. We waited another 10 minutes and the food was brought to us; however, it wasnt our food... they brought us another tables food. After this, we waited a further 20 minutes before I asked where the food was again. We were told that two more tables were ahead of us (even though wed been told this already). When the food finally came, the waiter spilt my food. Part of the food went on the floor. They took the plate back to the place that it was served from (I assumed so that they could fix it) and then proceeded not to touch it and just bring it straight back. We could see the kitchen from where we were sitting so we were able to see they hadnt touched it. When I asked whether they were going to do anything about it because they had dropped the food, the first waitress lied and told me they hadnt, even though wed seen it happen. The rest of the waiters then went on to suggest that only a little bit of food was dropped so it didnt matter (which was irrelevant). After waiting so long for our food we were told we could have a discount/ free dessert. When it came to paying the bill though, no discount was given. This was such a shame because the food was nice, but the service was terrible. If they were so busy food took an hour and 40 minutes to come, surely they should have let fewer people book tables rather than make everyone wait too long for food.

Waited 20mins for meal. I did not complain about meal because I would have been waiting another 20mins + in that time husband would have finished his meal. I thought lets try and enjoy, ordered sweet whichwas very nice. Couple of girls serving were too busy chatting to customers for at least 10mins about dogs/children/customers home in country etc instead of serving, its fine to be friendly but other customers waiting ages for drinks etc, couple next to us complained about there food not happy at all. This place was fully booked up quite a few weeks in advance. Just say I was disappointed.

Whatever the season, the views from the Hare & Hounds are always draw-dropping and stunning. The number of photographs taken of the valley and surrounding hills, must run into the hundreds of thousands by now.But there are some not often repeated moments when, after a heavy snowfall and then the sun is shining, the view takes on an enhanced meaning of spectacular.Wife and I were here this lunch time just for a beer (the place IS on the Cask Marque Ale Trail) and to take a few photos that we knew others would enjoy. To actually HAVE lunch here, early reservations are a requirement, the place is more than just popular. The galley has an ever increasing appreciation and reservations are made early from patrons coming from ever further afield. Not so for the beer however. The place is supposed to be, as already mentioned, on the Cask Marque Ale Trail. This is not something easily achieved. Out of some 40,200 pubs, only just over 8000 have been accredited as having a range of beers that are perfect in appearance, colour, taste and smell. As well as a Β£200+ fee, unannounced inspections of all the beers (usually a minimum of three) are conducted on two occasions before a Certificate of Accreditation is awarded. And this important Certificate is what we on trail need to scan with our Smartphones’ to review the beer and register our visit. In this respect than, the visit to the Hare & Hounds could have been better. There was only one ale for sale, Butcombe (the right side of average) but no certificate. The kitchen was doing well though, all tables reserved and the place filling up nicely.
