Found this little gem on an off chance, but lived everything that came from it. Vegan food that was absolutely tasty. Was a bit gutted that it was a cash only place, but it is literally next door to a cash machine. Highly recommended if youre in Bath. Theres food, then there is Chai Walla Street food. Brilliant.
Have heard so many good things about this place so decided to give it a go! Now I know what the hype is about… food was delicious! Tried all of the items on the menu but what really stood out was the samosa chaat and the onion bhaji wrap! The mango chutney that was used was sweet and fragrant, and complements the other components so well!
Such a tasty rap. Was bursting with flavours and definitely filled me up. Worth every penny.
Super tasty vegan indian street food. we only had the samosa and chat samosa because we were keeping space for dinner! the guys before us in the queue were having wraps which looked delicious!!! i would highly recommend. the guys are great too, good energy! :) yum yum yum yum yum
Visited Bath for the day with my partner and tried Chai Walla on a whim. Being veggie/vegan we find it hard to eat out sometimes, but these guys make excellent food! Everything is decently priced and would love to eat from here again next time we visit.
AMAZING!!! I had the £6 onion bahji wrap & samosa and it was incredible! So cheap for tonnes of food! Make the time to go definitely.
Yummy food and delicious chai at great value. Almost deserving of 5 stars, only I wish the guy serving hadnt used the same glove to handle food and money...
Food is lip smacking. The falafal wrap were just mind blowing. Specifically the falafals are too too tasty. Can eat up unlimited. The samosa chat was also good.
Fresh, authentic food. Great customer service. I would recommend whole heartedly.
Exactly what I was looking for, fast tasty food to go. Generous portions of fresh lovely food, well priced, smiles and friendly chat.
Excellent food, well and cheerfully cooked and served. Highly recommended.
Great food, excellent service. Had a falafel wrap and samosa 👌🏻, it was made reasonably quick.
Such nice guys ! Had the chaat, samosas and the falafel wrap - all fresh ingredients, lovely taste - (my stomach is very sensitive so I would have known later that night - but all was fine) ! And served with a smile ! Really good little place for a quick bite!
Had falafel wrap and masala chai - wrap was tasty and chai very refreshing - staff is friendlyhighly recommended for India street food
So delicious! Perfect portion size, very reasonably price, the staff were so friendly.I cant praise them enough, seriously so so so yummy
The chai was ok they had no lids or holders for the chai and unfortunately I had abit of walk to meet others the chai got cold very quickly.
Onion bhaji wrap - delicious & inexpensive lunch. The pulley system they’ve made for paying with cash really adds to the experience.
Great food, tasty, sweet and spicy. Pretty good value for money especially when you consider the location.Clearly has regulars so cant be bad.Not been to India but have had plenty of meals cooked by first and second generation Indian Brits and it compared well to themDefinitely recommend for a snack or lunch as a decent alternative to the ubiquitous chain food outlets
Very good very tasty ☕️
Great food and price, lovely service but could have had more taste/spice to it.
The food is amazing and Ive never seen anyone move so quick in a kitchen, massive queue served in hardly any time at all.
Very disappointing chai - doesn’t do justice to the name! Wrap was ok, although the overpowering taste is the sweet chutney. Takes only cash, despite current covid times.
Very good wraps it was fireee the staff was nicee and polite.
Absolutely delicious takeaway food, definitely get the samosa chaat!
Friends were going on about it I just had to try it. Oh boy did it exceed my expectations. Amazing wraps, GREAT value for it. Definitely add a samosa to the dea. I can vouch for the onion baji wrap but defo try the other choices on the menu.
Not the real chaiwala , theres one opening in bristol soon
If your expecting to get indian streetfood and some proper chai then dont get your hopes up, foods ok. But the chaat ended up being a soupy mess and the chai was bland.I thought this was another branch of chaiiwala but this was another place.
The food was great and quick and so fresh. He made it from scratch and fries it so nicely. The onion bhaji wrap with a samosa for only 6£ was a great deal. The wrap was nicely filled and samosa was savory. The whole menu is vegan and the falafel would have been a great option as well. There was a line and also only cash when we were there.
The food in absolutely fantastic - second to none! But please get a card machine. I do not carry cash, especially now due to the pandemic. The other day I ordered through Deliveroo and collected as it allowed me to pay with my card. The staff member was borderline rude to me, telling me that Deliveroo takes 30%. That may well be - if you had a card machine I wouldn’t have needed to do it!
The chai is terrible. Please dont think, this is how indian chai is made. The proportion of milk , water and masala is so so wrong... THIS IS NOT INDIAN CHAI
I am a regular at the Coventry road branch and I love coming across a girl named Sunna who works there whether it be on the phone when I place my order or when I go into the store because she is always is SO positive and friendly in the morning and her customer service skills are very rare :)Natasha is also someone I bump into quite often who is also very helpful so thank you to these girls at Chaiwalla Coventry road!
Ordered some samosa chat - was full of just chickpeas and not really a chatt (with no chutneys or shev). Also came with some sort of gravy in a chat.Got the pakora wrap too - The pakoras were over fried (burnt) .Had to throw away. The single samosa was nice though...Overall not a goo experience.
Best Customer Service. Food always comes hot and it doesn’t take long. Employees are polite and are always smiling.
We had the falafel wrap and the spicy lentil chaat. It was incredibly flavoured and something we will remember. The curry was one of the best in terms of flavour pay off I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot! Would definitely return and recommend. It would have been if it wasn’t cash only but there is a cash point just round the corner.
Great place and mario and olive was nice
So great! The food is delicious (we had bhaji roti and samosa chaat. Both delicious! Also the guys there are modern day heroes. The little kid before us ordered a wrap, asked how much, and the guy said Ill charge you £5 cause youre a kid. Awesome!Be aware - theyre cash only.
Amazing curry! Would defo recommend, very fast and friendly service, great for a quick and tasty bite! Cant count the amount of times Ive been!
This tiny place offers delicious Indian street food (all vegetarian) and authentic chai, at a great price.
Sorry guys, way off the mark. No sign of anything authentic Indian I’m afraid. Very disappointed. Pretentious rubbish.
Fantastic food as always !
Always delicious food. The samosas are fabulous. I cant bring myself to walk past this place without eating!
Was greeted by Faisil and received excellent customer service. Will defiantly be back.
Great food, very friendly service. Helped out by getting the milk in the morning and got a free cup of chia lol.Samosas and onion bhajia for breakfast sets you up for a great day.100% meat free, enjoy
The BEST food in bath! Niraj is a legend and Chaiwalla is the place I take visiting friends above all of the other very good places in Bath.
Sunna & Aisha M have both great customer service
I absolutely loved the onion bahji wrap and some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet.
Excellent food with a big range of options.
This is hipsters Indian food, not real Indian food. Had onion pagodas here. Were oily, soft and not good at all.
This place was fantastic! As someone who lives here, I will frequent this place! So many spice flavours without being too hot at all. The samosas were to die for and they do an amazing onion bhaji wrap. Currently £6 for an onion bhaji wrap and a samosa. £4 for gluten free curry and rice. Tiny place full of charm with lovely conversational staff. Not a long wait (although the queue will go out the door if it is more than two people! This is a prime example of some of the best street food in Britain!
Super-friendly team, smile and nice chat added to your falafel wrap free of charge
Come here every time I’m in bath and the place has never disappointed. Delicious food at a reasonable price served by the loveliest bloke around. Wraps are good options on the go but recommend the samosa chaat if you enjoy a bit of spice.
Without a doubt Chaiwalla is one of Baths hidden gems. The food is beyond fantastic, the service is always fast, friendly and generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. Cant fault the place.
Exceptional Samosa chaat... bring back home memories.. It was the best dish by far compared to the Falafel and Onion Bhaji.. Still a treat for those longing for a snack!!
Wonderful street food with an Indian twist. Small but utterly delightful range of food to take away - samosas and falafel particularly good! A real find and worth seeking out.
Absolutely loved their chai (so it lives up to the name) and samosas, served with delicious chutney! Enjoyed the samosa The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. Do keep in mind that they only accept cash though!
Only stopped in for some Indian street food snacks but they were delicious and the service was lovely. Will definitely be stopping by again when next in bath. Thank you!
Very friendly staff and great food at a great price! 😊
Super simple menu with absolutely amazing options (I tried the chaat and samosas and theyre heavenly). Really good service as well - highly recommend! 😊
Unbelievably delicious and authentic Indian street food! Really reasonably priced and fast and friendly service.
Staff really friendly and the samosas are 🤩
Truly delicious and authentic street food served by the friendliest of people.
Fab little gem we found wandering around Bath. Both falafel and bhaji were delicious, chutney and spices spot on. Freshly made. Perfect for a takeaway to have as a picnic.
Great and refreshing wrap, samosa is amazing! Good service 👍
Used to eat here most days the food was so good. Great portion, flavours and prices. Always playing good soulful music and friendly staff
Very good Indian food, even though I wish there was some options for meat eaters, the food is very tasty and delicious. They only take cash which is quite weird considering the current situation and the price is ok, but not particularly a great deal for what is provided.
The food was delicious. Good service from the staff.
Very glad we found this place! Friendly staff and delicious vegan food. You’ve got to try the mango lassi :)
Amazing food, always friendly service and reasonably priced for big portions. Love it!
Samosa chat was great, falafel wrap was good.
Nirajs food is the best in town! You simply wont try a better samosa, and his new mango chutney is worth buying too. Great food at a good price, and the service couldnt be friendlier.
Disappointing meal ,i dont know how they get 5 rating, got to knmow they beg for 5 star
Another delicious meal from Chaiwalla. Fabulous value. All homemade, absolutely delicious. Always a smile when served.
Stopped in Bath on the drive back to London almost exclusively to visit Chaiwalla. Was not disappointed. Samosa Chaat is a taste explosion.
First came here a couple of years ago on a visit to our favourite city... And the food is still just as delicious as it was then... We had the bhaji wrap with a samosa, they are the best Ive ever tasted! Highly recommended.
Best food for vegetarian people taste is very nice and price is reasonable :):):):):)
Onion Bhaji wrap was incredible!
Not the greatest food but clean and tasteful enough.
Great wraps, 100% recommend
Delicious food! Great portion size and price.
A tiny little place, serving feel-good street food.We thoroughly enjoyed our falafel wrap with a small criticism over the overall consistency of the meal. There seemed to be a lot of liquid leaving the wrap which leaked into the tin foil wrapper, making it rather difficult to eat and quite soggy.Value for money on point however.
Great place! Great idea, nice and quick easy street food. Cant fault..
Incredible! The vegan chai is very refreshing - dope work Niraj
Bloody brilliant. Great guys, and superb food!
Simply amazing fast food thats packed full of flavour!
