I have had a number of check-ups With Dr Swain for various conditions and have always found her to be thorough, direct and very professional. I have read some of the comments and find them hard to understand from my perspective. I was quite reluctant to visit after reading their reviews but visited anyways to see Dr Patel who specialises in removal of lumps....first time i went in gave name, and shortly after had a consultation and explained costs etc, went back following week for surgery, had lump removed in less than 30mins, a week later today i went in to remove stitches and left clinic within 10mins...receptionist were friendly and helpful, the nurse was friendly and the place looked clean. Happy with outcome and service recieved.

Waste of time using the online wait time tracker as it appears to be an understaffed clinic hence quieter often.Had made an online appointment on Bettr but as this was too late in the afternoon and with my dad becoming unwell fast. I took in my sick dad to this clinic. Went in for a quicker turn around. Was charged twice the normal fee due to consult time exceeding normal time which is fine but I personally dont use Local Drs anymore and my GP goes over 30 mins and I still pay the same fee which is slightly higher than Local Drs but has quality of care. Emailed Bettr and also let the male receptionist at Syliva park know about cancelling the Bettr appointment for that afternoon which he said he would do and process a refund. No refund and to make things worse. Having taken my dad to Auckland hospital in a serious condition, the Bettr team constantly hounded me in A&E for the appointment I had cancelled - did Local Drs not communicate this on their platform that the patient was sent to Auckland City Hospital as an urgent case. What a mess - seems like neither your receptionist nor the email I had sent was received. A very poor service as always. Good reason now for both my parents to move over to a better practice!Id stay away from Local Doctors - as cheap as they maybe, their wait times and services are horrible.

Came in with urgent need for assistance and was turned around with no help whatsoever or recommendations where to go. Dont take appointments but apparently dont take walk ins during the afternoon? How do people get to see a doctor here if you dont give appointments and dont accept walk ins? I dont drive and have an urgent need to see doctor and they just shrugged and said hospitals open, go there if its urgent. Rude and uncaring

Care is just not what it use to be. I need to change doctors. They are useless, rude, understaffed and they take forever.

Highly recommend the service by Dr. Patel,His diagnostic is to the point, not like other doctors who treat patients like subject and keep trying different medicines or scares patients with big medical terms.

Like most people reviewed, terrible service and unprofessional doctors, especially Dr. Sahar Zwain. Not sure how she got her registration, not ready to even look at patient, forget her touching the patient to understand any ailment.Dr. Patel is still better but needs improvement on his patient treatment.Luckily my wife and I tried their Glen Innes clinic recently, as enrolled patients can visit GI too. And doctors there are much more humane than in Sylvia Park.

ETHC Sylvia park need to train their receptionists .Both ladies at the receptionUnprofessional .I couldnt beleive them.You can tell from there faces they dont want to serve you ...sad though ..Please be considerate when you on front line especially at reception .PS...Dr w waidyasekara was great ..

Dr Sahar Zwain is the worst doctor I ever visited. I was seen by her a month ago and she doesnt even has any sense of respect and professionalism. She didnt even look at me when I was talking to her and she didnt check my condition. I was in pain on my lower back and she only prescribed me Paracetamol. After five minutes she told me that we were finished and I saw her to take his bag and leave the place. Then I realised that she was more worried about going to get lunch rather than help me. I dont even know how can mediocre professionals like her can work as a doctor. If you dont trust me, just look at the other bad reviews about her.

Not good service at all needs lot of improvements at reception and the wait time I was the first patient at 8.30am and I got to see the Dr at 9.30 am 1 hour wait for nothing its terrible

Got denied of service at 12pm saying they’re already close but on the website it says closes at 1pm. They said they don’t fo medical certificate on the weekends. Unprofessional work with the receptionist, if you’re closed at 12 THEN SAY IT ON THE SITE. What a joke.

Never coming back to this practice - in fact, Im thinking of re enrolling back to my former Drs.Came in a couple of days ago because I had 3 positive home pregnancy tests. Their ones came back negative and they made feel like I was going crazy just because THEIR tests were negative. I was told Im not pregnant and the ECP shouldve worked. Yes the ECP shouldve worked, but things do fail. I was in fact warned by the pharmacy that theres a high chance of failure due to being over 70kg.Asked for a blood test and was told when the results come back someone will call me. Blood test results came back 2 days ago and surprise, surprise my hCG levels at 17 indicated theres something there. Anything below 5 is a negative. Still no call back for next steps. What if Im having an ectopic pregnancy? Something would need to be done wouldnt it? Wouldnt I need an ultrasound to double check and rule out ectopic? Or to check if its still alive and Im not miscarrying? Or that theres in fact not a dead fetus there? Or having a chemical pregnancy? Or a missed miscarriage?Thankfully I know a Dr and they read the results for me and advised me to see another Dr to get sorted, which I have done. If it wasnt for this person I wouldve felt like I was going crazy.Once this appointment is done at another East Tamaki Healthcare practice, Im re enrolling back to my other Drs. There is no empathy here. They just dont seem to care. When you know your body and try to fight for what you know, you just get dismissed instantly because apparently someone thats never met you knows your body better than you do.

I had received excellent service from the time of calling the clinic to book an appointment . The gentleman who answered my call was very personable, understanding and compassionate. When I arrived at the clinic I found him to be very approachable , he was also very communicative to make sure I received everything I needed after my surgery .The Dr Vivek Patel also gave me excellent care at short notice and I was truly impressed with the service and care. The Dr was very efficient , quick and professional .Thank you , much appreciated .

First doctor I saw looked at me instead of my notes- and decided to guess my health issues by looking at me and asking if the appointment was about my _____. I was in for a mental health appointment and this made me so self conscious and anxious I requested a different doctor.The doctor I then saw was absolutely amazing- very fast yet thorough, listened to what I had to say and offered me new solutions too.

You would expect there be a doctor present at the clinic at all times. Went here at about 5.10pm on Friday 29th May 2020 only to be told that the doctor had left abit early for the day. The opening hours explicitly state that they are open till 5.30pm on weekdays. There were 3 people at the reception and no doctors.

Visited dr today as a casual and don’t like Dr Vivek Patel. He is cold and doesn’t seem to care about your health.

The doctors and staff work very hard and they are very professional and caring. Excellent minor surgical and other procedural treatment provided at very reasonable price with extreme patient satisfaction. People come from all over NZ and Australia to this clinic.Under the constrained working circumstances and conditions, with shortage of staff and large number of patients presenting to the clinic, the clinic has to stop taking more patients for the health and safety issues related to the staff and patients.But alternative care at other clinics is always offered.

Dr Sahar Zwain, worst treatment my daughter of 19 received, no bed side manners, she felt violated when she left, when she left the surgery, she was asked how it went she said awful only for the staffs reply to be everyone complains about her.......so why has her mannerism and empathy and bedside manners not improved....just a suggestion maybe watch Greys and learn something Doctor.

Made an appointment for 11:15am, got here 11am . I am still waiting at 12:18am . Havent been seen by a doctor or a nurse. After watching so many walk in after me & be seen before me , I asked what the wait time was & I was told to sit down. Seriously? Keeping a child occupied at the doctors is not easy. But why make an appointment if your gonna have to wait that long anyone . Switching doctors after this appointment.

So many times sylvia park clinic always turn patients away never ask if your ok they will just tell you straight up dont accept people anymore even its only 3pm and I only need my prescriptions specially diabetes medication.

If there was an option of giving zero stars, I would have happily done so. READ THE REVIEWS! They speak for themselves. Dr Zwain is one of the most incompetent excuses of a doctor, let alone a human, I have ever come across. As a new patient, I had brought my medical notes with me, and without reading them, she looked me up and down, and in five minutes concluded that there was basically nothing wrong with me, when I had a file of paperwork from various specialists over the years stating the various chronic conditions I have. Apparently if you look healthy on the outside, theres nothing wrong with you. Newsflash lady - there are thousands of illnesses that arent physically apparent, just by looking at someone. I was absolute appalled by her rudeness, lack of empathy, listening skills. She should not be allowed to practice if she cannot follow the code of ethics. As a doctor it is her duty to listen, read, and comprehend the information provided by the patient. Theres more to it, but I am at a loss as to where to start. In a nutshell; AVOID SEEING THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS!

If I could give 0 star. The doctor I seen she is useless. I had an infection she’s didn’t even look and just asked me same things what the nurse asked and that’s it. Literally seen me for 2 minutes. Poor service. They need better all round staff.

I went there a couple of days ago the receptionist that took my details down was friendly. The nurse that took my weight height and blood pressure was also friendly and professional and then it all went down hill I saw dr S Zwain who in my book is the worst doctor there she is cold in the way she treats patients she does not listen prescribes unnecessary medications and blood test I had on a previous visit to not be seen by her and frankly am dismayed that she is still there. Dr Vivek Patel is far better do deal with and is friendly and listens and only prescribes medication and test that are needed . I have been going to this practice for over 13 years now I have seen good nurses and drs over those years sadly some of them have left now. Please please get rid of Dr S Zwain she is incompetent cold to deal with and does not listen to what the patient has to say

There are some serious concerns at this clinic in regards to performance, conduct and competency standards when dealing with patients.I have been to this clinic a few times and it appears their is a lack of communication, people skills and cultural competency. This is because when you arrive at reception, the level of friendliness and customer service is poor. The receptionist doesnt have a smile or friendly introduction like a simple how are you? how can I help? accompanied by a welcoming smile. Its more like a stare with no communication that asserts the question what are you here for? without appropriately asking the patient. In addition, the consultation with the doctor doesnt even ask How you are?. The doctor wont even look you in the eye like a human being and constantly stares at the computer while asking what can I do?. This in itself is something that can be difficult for patients to prove or complain about as it is subtlely rude and a discrete unwilligness to actually discuss the patients health issues in a neutral and respectful way that informs the patient accordingly. Thus the GPs behaviour can be seen as an abuse of power given such poor people skills and disrespect for patients.Patients have the right to be treated with respect and treated with reasonable care and skill while recieving well coordinated services. However with the lack of communication and unwillingness behaviour to help in a respectful and informative manner its is far from that.I find many of these reviews including mine convey similarities in complaints, that is that the patients rights at this clinic are not being met in terms of service delivery and how patients are being treated as a result of poor communication and conduct.For example patients rights inlcude Service providers must listen to you and give you clear information that you can understand..You must feel comfortable...Treatments must be fully explained to you.How on earth is this going to happen if communication is poor and the way doctors conduct themselves conveys a behaviour that appears to be an unwillingness to engage or help a client right?. That can make anyone uncomfortable, aggitated and feel unheard. In addition, it poses a high risk of misinformation that could be detrimental on a patients health.Communication, conduct has everything to do with meeting the professional standards that public health services and GPs need to comply with in ensuring patient rights are met.I empathize with many of the people here in their reviews who have experienced their rights being violated in such a subtle and discrete way.Their are many vulnerable and sick patients who come to this clinic expecting good service, respect, and to be well informed. This clinic needs to assess their service delivery and staff conduct and competency skills as it can affect people who are sick and seeking help.

Dreadful. Dr would not listen to me and kept telling me that because my ankle looked fine there was nothing wrong with it. Told me to come and see him at another practice. Receptionist friendly but incompetent and struggled to generate a receipt or understand questions about payment.Avoid at all costs. I wish I had seen reviews before going.

I dont understand how they can have people in customer service who is so rude, i may probably been going to them since 9 years and they still ask for details. And passport copy. Its just waste of time better to go somewhere else where they keep patients detail saved. NEVER GOING BACK TO THEM. If i can give a negative star i would definitely give this clinic a -10!. They are rude! And doesn’t give proper instruction!!!! We were n the clinic at 8:15am. Was told we can go out and come back at 9am. We came back before 9. Waited for 2hours and was told! We should have informed them that we are back! But No one told us to inform them when we are back!! they think we can read their minds and policies!!! And blamed us for not knowing it!

Saw Dr Wenda Cui today, he was friendly and competent. He normally works at the Glen Innes clinic. The wait time was about 45 mins, which is pretty good as a walk-in patient. Dr Vivek Patel has cut out a number of skin issues for me (great job thanks), and I stay at this practice for my future surgical needs. Great value for money, and mostly good Doctors. (If you do not like the manner of one of them, try a different one next time). Dr David Chee is awesome, but Glen Innes seems to have longer wait times than Sylvia Park. I have been using East Tamaki Healthcare since around 2001, it works for me and my budget. I never wait more than an hour, because I ask what the wait time is and then switch the time I go, or the practice I go to, to ensure minimum stress. The reviews here indicate the frustration of some patients (totally understand), but the happy customers do not tend to review a healthcare practice. Hence, the current 1.5 star rating is not a true reflection of the practice.

Wonder why so many 1 stars here..I only hope their management care about this people voice and listen to these comments. My family had same issue of 2.5hrs waiting even existing patients. I cant imagine how hard it can be waiting for 2.5hr with a 2 year old baby for multiple times.Please sort out your problem before these people complains getting your clinic closed down as Im sure there would be someone taking it further with some policies around gp licenses so have you guys punished for having rude receptionists and offering bad services. Went on a Saturday morning. Terribly busy. Natasha on the front desk and Dr. Vivek Patel as the only doctor were just superb. About 13 patients seen in an hour or so and Dr. Vivek was quick yes but diagnosed me correctly and gave effective ear drops. Very Thankful.

Slow as a snail service! Middle of the day on a Friday and only one doctor on!

This place does not even deserve 1 star. The most useless doctors ever to be present. I went to them twice in 3 weeks and both doctors just spent 5 mins with me and give me anti biotics and sent me home. One time , i sat there almost 3 hours, because both the doctors decided to go to lunch at the same time, not using their common sense and having one present while the other is away. The receptionists arent the nicest either, quite rude no matter how nicely you speak to them. A few of them have selective hearing as well, when you ask them something they will ignore you and do something on the computer. i was only going there because it was close to home, but honestly speaking i would rather spend more money and hopefully find a better doctor that will actually listen to what i say and not just give me medications that i dont need. Its shocking, reading all these reviews and seeing that this place is still active, i would have expected it to be closed down a long time ago. This place should be shut down.

Although the wait was always long, i understood that the doctors were busy and for that I patiently waited. But for the care that i recieved - I think - was not enough. In most cases, I would only see the doctor for 5 minutes and always left feeling unsatisfied, like i wasnt properly heard/listened to.

Ignore review by Vivek Patel, hes a doctor at the practice. Today I was told there would be a wait as only one doctor was on hand. Thats fine. What Im not happy about is the doctor ignoring the cue, not calling out names and slyly gesturing the next patient. So many people were seen before me. When I spoke to the receptionist I finally got my scripts without seeing a doctor over an hour later. Spoke to another receptionist who said she would ask the doctor for my scripts without being seen. She went on lunchbreak without speaking to the doctor. Terrible management here.

Most of your staff cant speak proper English and dont understand you, neither can the doctors.

This place doesnt even deserve 1 star. I went there for an ear flush and was made to wait 2 HOURS just to get my ears checked whether they require a cleaning or not. When it was my turn, my ears were checked for 30 SECONDS(!!!) and the doctor said a flushing wasnt required. Not only was 2 hours of my life wasted but I also came home slightly sick(even the receptionist was sick like what the hell). I would never recommend this place to anyone, ever. Literally the worst service Ive ever experienced and its not even close. Youre better off finding and enrolling to another healthcare clinic. Worst excuse of a clinic this is. Please dont ever visit this branch, you might just save a life.

My son was less than 2 years old, when daycare told us he was having temperature & coz this place was nearest we went to see doctor. The nurse saw us after a while & waited to see doctor. He at 4.45pm told us to go & cant see us. As we were the last one. Even the receptionist told him my son had temperature & nurse has seen him. His answer was no, so receptionist called dawson & we were seeing as arrived to dawson. All Dr V Patel cares for us $$$$ but a person or a child. Shame on him for not keeping up with his oath. Have never been to this place again. The receptionist was more understanding and apologetic. DOES NOT DESERVE ANY STAR.

I was worry to have a surgery in this place, but actually I was positively sorprise. First the receptionist is giving and excellent service I dont know her name unfortunately but it was a lovel, the same the rest of the staff. I can recommend the place for small surgeries of lump. Dr. Vivek is really good. The nurse on the weekend it wasnt that good, but not bad either.

I rang up on Monday morning to book a appointment but was told that they dont do booking but it should be ok I a couple of hours. I have visited this place a few times and several of these times concerned my broken ribs, meaning of course I was in extreme pain. The shortest time I waited was 1/half hours. I saw many people who arrived after get seen first. The gentleman behind the desk was rude. And the doctor usually would only prescribed me weak painkillers even though I could barely stand up without passing out. I went on this Monday and the wait was well over 2.5 hours again, dozens of people went before me. I had th flu and had missed a week of work. Same doctor would give a medical certificate for the next 3 days which was pointless as Ive got those days rostered of anyway and am going back to work on Thursday. F**king hopeless

Stupid Sign Up - NO SERVICESecond day in a row I wasnt even seen by a DrI am fortunate that I am hardly ever sick however ive just returned frum holiday in Fiji and despite wearing lots of insect repellant and spending lots of time indoors Ive been badly bitten & attacked by every flying & biting insect in fiji. Ive had the chills, high fever, joint pain, headache, pain behind the eyes, rash, constant itching.Ive tried many over the counter medicines as well as natural alternative therapies to try sort this out and avoid the drs.So imagine my horror when on the 2nd day of driving here all the way from the airport Im greeted with a stupid sign basically saying 1 doctor on, long wait times.........Go elsewhere.Long story short people dont come here unless you are prepared to waste time & petrol.There is no service here, is it any wonder when people present directly to the hospitals when you receive this abundant lack of no treatment from the medical clinics!Honestly sort it out people where in the summer months where illnesses are less than the winter months.

I am a visitor to the area and I called the centre. They told me that they were not taking bookings this week, but that I could walk in. After walking 20 minutes to get there arriving at 3:30pm the receptionist told me they were no longer accepting walk ins that day

But you should try taking your UNDER 13 who is not registered at East Tamaki heathcare and than see.... YOU WILL NOT GET ANY FREE CONSULTATION if East Tamakiheathcare will not receive Funding from the Ministry..Ever wondered... how did East Tamaki heathcare became the largest heathcare provider in South Auckland... it is the Money from TAX PAYERS... Very useless Health Care in New Zealand, I called them if I can book appointment and they said No Appointments just walk in only, then when I visit them they asked if I have an appointment because there no walk in only for appointment. What is your problem East tamaki healthcare? you wasted my time you useless piece of trash!

Ive been to this practice twice and both times I saw Dr Vivek Patel and was very disappointed . The first time I went with my one year old baby as she had rushes all over her body. After waiting for ever we finally walked into the room and he just didnt bother even looking at us, his eyes were on the monitor and even when I spoke with him he just wouldnt show eye contact even not looking properly at my childs rushes, finally he asked few questions and said Ill prescribe three kinds of medicine. When I went to get her medicine he only wrote one medicine so I had to go back again and again with a sick baby. I found him very rude and unprofessional. The second time I went there I had to Waite for 40min to be seen, he told me to lay down on the bed and then he got a phone call and he answered it and just blabbing about his personal stuff.... what kind of doctor answer personal phone calls while seeing a patient? No wonder there is such long waiting time.

Didn’t realise how bad this clinic was until I tried a different place around the corner. Treat yourself and visit Mt Wellington Family Health Centre instead.

I arrived at 8:01am and wasnt seen til 940. Then my consultation was interrupted because an elderly gentleman collapsed in the waiting room - he was told to be there at 830 and had been waiting then.Healthcare-wise, my initial diagnosis 3 days prior was incorrect (and late, and rushed). I can assume this led my symptoms to develop further and potentially more seriously than they needed to. I wont be coming back!

The female doctor that treated me had her back faced away when I went into the room. She didnt seem to care much about my health and was really rude. Worst place ever.

The time on website says open till 05:30pm, went there at 04:30pm and the staff at the counter said we not taking anymore booking as we busy and I couldn’t see any patients out there so really don’t understand what’s going on.Asked the guy at the counter is there any clinic which will be open and he asked me where I live so I told him Mount Roskill and then told me there is one on stoddard road, when I went there they said they don’t have any doctors available so again poor service.Really didn’t understood why are even open if they don’t want to help patients.

We took our daughter for a check up, actually we just needed a perscription for traveling. We enterd the room and the doctor was staring at the computer, he completely ignored us, it looked like someone has forced him to work there. For a moment I thought we were in some kind of a third world countrie.

I HATE this place ! Horible staff esp the receptionist. Waited for hours and hours even made an booking and still did not even get seen at that time. Another thing is other patients came if way after i was and got seen straight away. Now i am not trying tonbe racist or anything but the receptionist looked indian or fijian and the patients that came in way after me were same culture. They spoke to each other same langauge and got to see a doctor straight away ??? Unfair. Ive switch GPs now and would recomend no one to join this pathetic place !

Going here is just wasting your time you freaking wait 2 to3 hours here just to get checked by a nurse and another hour for a doctor god this place is trash never coming here again I recommend the Mount Wellington family health centre penrose its literally opporsite countdown go to it search it up it will save you a fortune

Not recommended this Sylvia park clinic. People in Reception & most of the doctors are really rude for patients. So disappointed.

The worst experience i have ever had.. The receptionist don’t know how to talk with the patient..and the way of their speaking is very rude..Just for signing a form i have to f***** wait for 20 mins..

I liken this place to a cattle truck. It’s a numbers game with little to no care of duty to patients. I was mortified by the lack of knowledge, humanity, conduct of care or respect shown by the “doctor”.

Dont ever consider going to any East Tamaki Healthcare. They have terrible service and dont allow for appointments. Worst doctors in the country.

Its sucks how you have to wait almost 2 hours only to see a doctor for 15 or less minutes .... I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone
