Great value for money. The roast ham & dessert bar was really good. Great customer service by dining staff.

Food is well cooked, the ham is juicy and not too salty, beef goulash has a decent amount of tomato sauce, and good variety of carbs. A good variety of desserts also. There could be a wider variety of main dishes though, adn there were no cooked veggie options. Overall was well worth the price of $27.5 for a lunc buffet.

Best all you can eat breakfast. Has everything from eggs to different types of bread and cereals to hot food and cut up food. Worth the price. Highly recommend.

Went here for lunch, the food was really nice. I ate the house down. The only issue is that they didnt have a wheel barrow to wheel me out of the restaurant afterwards.

Our waitress was amazing. She accommodated our needs and was always on hand if we were needing something. Even took our family pic. We were so surprised with the small Birthday cake plate for my son. Totally loved it!! The food was top quality. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. The couple beside us, we thought we were loud for them and apologized on the way out but they said it was fine and hoped we had enjoyed our night. Was a beautiful night there. We will be recommending to all.

Food was very tasty. Price was very good. Was a bit confused about where to go for the food line - didnt want to cut in front of anyone but there seemed to be no set start point.It was busy but not too packed that you couldnt move. The 90 minutes they give is ample time to have a really good feast. Good place for a big crowd - we had a party of 14. Would go there again :-)

The atmosphere and staff are what makes this dining experience reasonable. The food however, could be so much better. Because of the volume of customers that pass through this restaurant, I had hopes of fresh tasty food but was met with a bland, budget, mass produced filled menu. I get that catering to the masses must be an intense undertaking but nz has so much to offer, surely with a bit of effort the menu could be substantially improved. Ill pass next time

Went for dinner last night and was very underwhelmed! Not a lot of choice, I would have thought a buffet would have Roast beef or pork, but all it had was chicken, ham and a thick pizza! The peas looked ancient and the kumara was still hard! The seafood section had mussels which were nice, and then tiny shrimp and fake crab salad that was dosed in a hot sauce! I don’t think I’ll be going back! 🤨

One of the best places to take family on Sunday because of the atmosphere. Friendly staff, yummy food on buffet. Eat as much as you want...highly recommend A+++

We had our 6 months in marriage lunch out in city. Food is so yum and really good. Not too cheap but not too expensive. Price just right and worth it. Dinner has more food options. But haven’t tried it and would like to come on dinner.

Great place for dinner. Had a group of 15 for a graduation. We all had appetites. Pro tip would be to reserve before 8pm. Great atmosphere.Only downside is when making reservations online, when going to pay, you must pay altogether or pay by cash....inconvenient and crowded.Staff are pleasant and attentive. When I booked online, you had the option of letting them know the occasion. I advised a dual graduation and birthday.They had a personalised slice of cake with congratulations on it for the graduate and signed birthday cards. Was extremely grateful.

I took my family (5) to visit Auckland in Jan 2020. We thought the buffet price would be over $60 since the Skycity hotel is pricey when we stayed here. Unexpectedly, the lunch buffet is only $25/p and $12/child, which is much less than the average 5-stars buffet in Australia.The hot meal and cold dishes are great, most interesting, the desserts and fresh milk are one of the best, they all taste much better than other buffet. Highly recommend!

We were a group of about 55 people who went for lunch, great front of house staff.I was very disappointed in the overall buffet. Food was very bland and a limited assortment of foods, whats interesting is that they have 4 different chicken dishes, not with much difference. The salads was very poor. They also often run very low or out of food for the diners.I personally on 3 occasions asked staff to bring out food that had totally run out of - small crumbed fish and chips, tarter sauce and then desserts was about 90% empty when we went to get something to eat. Very disappointed that there was no ice cream, even the children at the table behind us complained about that.Only good thing is the table staff who took our drinks orders were great and friendly, place is very clean and tidy and overall great table service.When a table is reset for next customers, a thorough clean is done on the tables.I had a Soda drink for $5, fill as many times you want, value for money.Its also extremely expensive for your car parking, even with the validating of your parking ticket at the front desk, works out $16 for 2 hrs and 5 min of parking.Very disappointed overall, wont reccomend it and I will definitely not be going back there for a meal.My reccomendation to Supervising staff is, make sure you have sufficient food out for diners to eat at all times, it very disappointing that we have to tell your staff to bring out food from the kitchen.

Me & my family came in for my nieces birthday on the 05/08/2021 & daam i gotta say that will be my first and last time will be going there, went to most food trays they were empty and when i asked if there was more chips or fried rice coming worker seems angry and said no we have to wait? So my first round just ate prawns and rice that was burnt 🤦‍♀️ most cooked food we ate was really salty. Food options and all i was very dissapointed about but the girl that helped us was very lovely and made us feel comfortable. I think her name was Denise? She was very helpful and lovely.

Cant complain for a $39pp buffet menu,,, good salad selection and hot food. Additional breads and soup table, and wide variety of dessert. Only down side is the 1.5hr turnover, which as a slow eater is quite a tough feat, and if its a busy day youll prob find yourself waiting in line for about 15min anyway... so i think the queuing system can definitely be improved to make things more efficient

Fortuna provides a great buffet dinner with lots of variety. Its ideal for groups of 8 - 20 who want a fixed price deal. Just be aware of the time slot, as when your time is up, they really want you to move on.

Been to countless buffet but this was the worst. I’m very disappointed. Firstly they had a front desk way out the front with no one there. Secondly food wasn’t as good as advertised. It’s only food that will fill u up couldn’t compare to the advertising( Maybe breaching the Fair Trading Act) U will even have to pay for the drinks(5$ unlimited refill) but this should be included. 👎👎👎.The only good thing was the deserts lots of choice.A bad experience will not come again. 👎👎👎

Loved the lunch buffet they serve here. So many dishes in main course, salad and desert. The water and tea/coffee is included in the buffet. Any other drinks is extra. The food was delicious and great experience. It is worth it to pay 27 dollars for one person. You can get a car park discount as well.

Not a happy customer at all!! Will not recommend. Stay away. We were a group of 17 booked way in advance. It was 2 birthdays with the one being a 81st. We expected to have the whole family at one table which was totally possible as there was lot of room available. I feel with such a big group you should be allowed half an hour longer as its a birthday celebration as well as family catch-up. After your hour and a half you are told to leave! Then we were told that ONE person has to cover the whole bill! You have paypoints/EFTPOS machines!!! Why can each couple and family not pay by visa for themselves??? Everyone ended up having to go and draw cash so we can pay it all as one bill. Everyone was super annoyed by this and you can be assured that none of us will return nor recommend! To top it we were overcharged by $100!!! We asked to re calculate and happy we did. Not even an apology for their mistake! Stay away! The food was not worth the hassle! Zero stars would be more accurate!!!

Very Average Food, The selection of food wasnt big either. The food was bland & tasteless. Paid $40 for Dinner & $16 for Parking after it got validated by restaurant staff for 2.5 hours.There are so many places better than this to dine in. Will not be DINING again.

Nice variety meals options from entrees, mains, desserts and also hot drinks such as coffee and hot chocolate. Youre welcome to pay extra for soft drinks. You must reserve the seats and commonly people come with the group seating. Nice atmosphere for special occasions such as Birthdays. Great customer service experience 👍👌👍

Great food, not as many options as I thought but still pretty good though, wouldve been nice to have parking free if your dining at a restaurant. Just an opinion. But yeah was great night, quite busy and food was replenished with fresh stuff so it was good. Sushi was not the best Ive tasted, but nice to see as an option. Oh and I love the soft serve machine , that was awesome.

Went in to Fortuna buffet & it was our first time there in ages. Food was great & the decor has improved. A very nice experience.Only 4 stars as its a shame you dont get free parking with a meal, you just receive discounted parking ($10) by validating your parking ticket.

Pretty good tasty food for lunch def good for the price. Pork ribs were delicious. Salads average. Paying one bill should be stipulated when booking bit annoying after dining. But other than that it was worth the cost and mum enjoyed her birthday there

The fried rice was dried up from overheating! The chips, chicken nuggets, garlic bread was so hard! The corn tasted like it was reheated, the curry was too salty! The menu was something that u could buy from a chinese takeaway & even that would have had more flavour and taste to it! Its overpriced! Would NOT recommend this place to have lunch in.

Hi had the chance to be there for breakfast and we were very disappointed with the food and wish it was as good asYears ago. The sausage were hard and cold. The coffee terrible and if this is what our tourist are getting from the sky city restaurant in nz this is terrible. Im embarrassed for us,wish we had chef that can cook hashbrowns that werent burnt and there was no food toBe cooked fresh like omelets, pancakes, eggs Benedict, etc.Very unhappy with what there is to offer now shame on you sky city hotel. It shows how much you have been cutting corners. But the costs have still high.

Not too impressed. Went for lunch, the line layout is ridiculous. You line up from two ends and meet in the middle, I believe u have the same food either end? too many bain Maries were empty, no rush in filling them up, literally had to overlap the oncoming line to get the food your end was out of. For the price and all u can eat, u shouldnt have to rush to get the last chicken leg. Scraping the last bit of any of the meat dishes was disappointing.

We had booked two weeks prior yet had to wait half an hour to be seated and were then told that we only had an hour to eat. Food was a lot better than my last visit but wasnt particularly keen on the Pacific Island food (Which I usually enjoy homemade) namely the chop suey and palusami. Thoroughly enjoyed the soup however 😊

Went to this venue probably 3 years ago and was very nice. todays experience was very disappointing. there is currently a lack of choice and the food was below average.

Dined at Fortuna last night VERY disappointed we had to go and find wait staff to take our drinks order and apart from the meat dishes in the bain maires all other hot food was either lyke warm or cold wont goback definitely not cave for money

I have always enjoyed Fortuna Buffet. The only drawback here is that its always fully booked at all times. You need to make your reservations atleast 10 days prior to be very precise. They have got varieties and the food is fresh. They might just need to focus on refilling when they know its the particular item that is being devoured. Certainly recommended. Most disappointing buffet I have ever been to. I would have expected more being located in the skycity .Food was yuck , not enough selection , oysters were dry and tasted rotten . Will not be wasting my time and money coming back here again

Read reviews had mixed thoughts service was great but food very average. Biggest complaint not enough selection. 3 big groups last booking time frame 8.15pm not a great selection. Felt like we got the short end of the straw. 80 people spent about $2,800 and there were 2 other groups. Some enjoyed others knew better. Yeah had better for cheaper at other places.

Variety of food however not as tasty as I thought it would be. The dessert were quiet plain in taste. For the amount of money we paid for 24 people I dont think it was worth our money.

Great price. Poorly planned service.Went for the buffet breakfast on Mothers day with a few family mothers.The food wasnt replenished quickly/regularly enough, so it was a let down for not only my crowd, but so many other guests. The self serve drink dispenser for fizzies was also conveniently out of order. While I was there for 40min, they ran out of (and were slow to replenish) bacon, scrambled eggs, waffles, hash browns, tomatoes. And the whipped cream was runny. The juice also regularly ran low, and drinking glasses were scarce so we found ourselves getting drinks of water with the small coffee cups.Many attendees had pre-booked, so the foot traffic wouldnt have been a major surprise.While I didnt complain directly to the front desk, this was handled by three other complainants who echoed the same sentiments.What a shame for my first time visiting.

Very poor experience today. Soup and hot meals were lukewarm at best, sauces were almost run out and not replaces. Deserts were ok but no ice cream as machine was not working. Table service non existent and our drinks arrived during dessert.

Honestly not worth it, the selection of food is quite small for a buffet and all the food has this same specific taste (and it isnt a good one) and generally tastes weird and like it was thrown together. Although the price is cheaper than some other buffets in Auckland, it would be better to just buy a meal somewhere nicer and actually enjoy it.

Dont go here. Signage for food is bad. Chicken had Ham signage and on the night me and partner went our tables + 3 other tables ate ham thinking it was chicken and when we reported it there was no remorse all they said was ops we will change it going on my religion i have never eaten pork since I was born and yet such a big restaraunt can mess this up when asking for a refund all they gave was a $10 and told us thatd all. Rubbish management would rather spend a bit more and go to the cordis eight restaraunt

Great food specially the lamb however theres not enough selection perhaps they could add more cuisine to offer. Overall, we had a lovely night.

Pretty average, dishes are really meh, sushi was hard. Decors a bit tired, too many customers dressed rough in Vfone Warriors t shirts etc.

Nice atmosphere staff friendly although we were given a ticket with a table number but not taken to be seated??? The food was nice and fresh and quality good. It took a while to get our soft drink glasses (not hard to get as you fill the glasses with whatever drinks you want yourself. Five dollars seems a bit much for a soft drink. Finally desserts were nice and coffee is included with the buffet cost.

Staff were nice and the food was okay until i went home and vomited again, either because some hygiene breach or food was not prepared properly. the food made me sick almost immediately afterwards.

Attended Christmas Lunch with my workplace for the second time. Last year 2019’s food was pretty average and therefore we were not too keen to attend this year 2020. But to my surprise the food was great, a good selection of seafood. A variety of mains to choose from and dessert didn’t just have slices that you didn’t know how long was out on display for but fresh cheesecakes, trifles and pavlovas. Service & staff are very accommodating. Thank you and hope to return again in the near future.

Good place to go on a budget very wide range of food to choose from, bar is located inside the restaurant or waiters can fetch drinks for you. I found the only let down was the deserts as they taste very bland and kind of ruins the whole meal other then that if your looking for a fair priced night out Fortuna is definitely a place to check out.

The food was very delicious when we visited a week ago, so definitely a treat. Normally I would walk out very disappointed but not this time. The fish curry was lovely.

I had lunches and dinners here before but tried their breakfast for the first time this weekend. It was fantastic! The range of food available for breakfast was quite incredible. Hot and cold stuff all well served and presented. Will return again.

Went for birthday dinner 11/06/2021. Hot food great however very disappointed with the oysters, ( Not fresh) if you a chef, you should know what a fresh oysters taste like😡, we paid $$$ to have a good meal.

Very friendly helpful staff. There were stains on the floor from food spillages which I found a bit off putting. Not the great selection I remember from the past, the food was well cooked and tasty but nothing to write home about. Great for the kids they loved the drinks machine and range of desserts.

Im all about the dessert. Oreo cheesecake, Much Moore vanilla ice cream pottles, caramel slice and coffee.

We all had a great dining experience, besides my 1 friend who wanted more chicken options but other than that it was packed that night, we were seated at our tables on time . Firstly I am not Angela Guptill but her mother Patricia Guptill.I attended this restaurant noon yesterday. Staff helpful and pleasant.Food uninspiring. Very little in seasonal vegetables. Frozen peas presented as the hot green vegetable. Not always suitable and difficult to eat. We could be in the 1950s. As for the muscelin lettuce. It is incredibly difficult to eat with stalky bits catching the back of the throat. Too bad if someone has false teeth. There are many other varieties of lettuce. No soup but the variety labelled was the same as last year. Hey Chef, use your imagination.

Not a good place for a vegetarian/vegan, as a vegetarian I had the choice of pizza, garlic bread and 1 type of pasta only. Asked the chef if they could make any one vegetarian dish, to which they simply said that just have whats there. The cleanliness is not up to the mark, but the place setting is good for the buck.

We went there as part of a Mum/Daughter weekend celebration, if you like seafood its a dream, and I loved the oysters many times over. It’s geared towards the Island/ Asian diet more with a lot of noodle and Asian style dishes. Dessert was a different story, plenty of variety and pretty delicious dishes. It’s a busy restaurant even in Covid times so obviously we’ll loved by all.

The food and service was excellent and really nice atmosphere. The staff are pro with their service especially their manager who’s name is Melissa I believe, personally took care of our dietary requirements.

Hadnt been to Fortuna in almost 10 years... Can honestly say its turned into the new valentines restaurant since that chain of buffet restaurants is slowly being phased out. Its good for a budget buffet. Dont expect alot and youll have a good experience. Staff are super friendly and service was amazing. They cleared our plates promptly. Wouldnt go back for a special occasion, but maybe on a random day in 10 yrs time.
