Definitely worth the visit! We ordered butter chicken and it was delicious. Weve tried many butter chicken restaurants around NZ, and this is probably the best butter chicken Ive tasted.P.s if you cant handle spicy, get mild. I got medium and it seemed hot to me but still sooo good!

Was here on Sunday for lunch. Had their lunch offering which consisted of a veg curry, naan and plain rice. It was pretty filling. Food and service at the restaurant was very good. The restroom was clean. There were not a lot of customers at the time I was there, but the few who were there seemed to enjoy their meal.

It has been a long time since my wife and I had lunch at Tulsi but it was as good as we remembered in the past. It wasnt busy, waitress was very polite, calm and efficient - chef who brought the food out was cheerful and nice - portions were a good size - everything was tasty and pretty good value for money - all in all a good place to go for a tasty curry for lunch

We totally enjoyed our lunch on the run. Our meals were yummy, and along with the Naan bread and rice, was more than ample for the two of us. We were warmly greeted on arrival and were seated and served quickly. Our waiter was extremely efficient and overall, was a very pleasant dining experience. The reviews are mixed for this restaurant so I guess we got lucky and caught them on a good day.

Nobody finished their curry it was that bad. There was also a small plate of rice not nearly enough for 3x grown men (everybody got 3 table spoons of rice) you should be generous with your rice as the curry is almost $20 each. It was really over priced for what we were given and didnt have a very good experience.

If you are after a tasty and authentic Indian style curry then look elsewhere. The curries on offer here are surprisingly bland and flavourless, you are probably better off buying a jar of Pataks and making it yourself at home... It will certainly be a lot cheaper!

I came in with a couple of friends for a quick lunch and catch up. Overall not a great experience. The place had no atmosphere, there was no music and it was really dark. Our server was rude and argumentative. Portion sizes, especially seeing as our server told us the rice and naan were complimentary so all we were paying for was the curry itself, were very very small.Really sad because this was my friends go-to restaurant and weve all been really put off. Will not be returning.

Does not taste like real curry but if youre ravenous or looking for something quick and affordable for lunch while youre enjoying an outdoors event nearby then their takeaways could be acceptable as a convenient and practical tradeoff. We found the service respectful but we were not dining inside their premise so cannot vouch for that. (The public is getting quite savvy as discerning diners, what with globalised travel and international cuisine exposure so higher expectations of cuisine authenticity will likely be encountered. And that is a good thing for the industry.)

The seat coverings were torn and the tables were tacky to touch. The waiter was rude and terrible, it was clear we were not good enough in his view to eat at the restaurant as he ripped the menu out of our hands before we even finished our sentences for our order. The food was bad, real bad, my husbands curry dish tasted bitterly burnt, mine was lukewarm at best and tasted like leftover from days ago. Neither dishes nor the small bowl of rice (to share) were warmed through properly. The naan bread was bitter and tasted like it was made with a load of baking soda. Definitely never going back again.

Friendliness - Booked a voucher online, turned up on a sunday night - very quiet, with seats a plenty. I told them I had a voucher and they said next please book a table.Service - We sat down and waited a very long time to order as there was only one person on the floor and he was talking to someone at the counter for a long time. He didnt offer us to get drinks first but gave us water.Food- There was a bug in the steamed rice.Prawn masala - prawns still had the tails on which is a little messy having to pull them off as they are in a curry. Very sweet dish.Chicken tikka masala was great, garlic naan was great, nil complaints to those.More rice would be appreciated rather than one bowl to share between two peopleCleanliness - There were flies that kept bothering around the table.Would not dine here again sadly. Maybe Id get take away next time.

This was by far the worst ever Indian we have had. We eat Indian food often and know what a good curry is and enjoy the variations from different regions. Firstly the naan bread was like rubber and inedible. Both our mains had the same underlying flavour which was not normal there was a total lack of Indian spice flavour. When we mentioned this to the waiter he said do you mean European spices! Rather insulting to someone who loves Indian food and who has enjoyed cooking it for many years. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant.

I loved it, the Curry was super delicious and the Garlic naan are amazing. I went 5 times to this place and keep going back. I absolutely adore their food.I did not put the last star cause I actually think that its not enough, when you see you dish coming youll find a tiny bowl with more sauce than chicken. and they should have other deal with prawns and not only the vege/chicken Tulsi Special. Id love to be able to eat something else than chicken for a reasonable price.

Used to love this place so much and ate here quite often last year. The staff used to be so friendly and the food used to be really good too but I went yesterday and Ive decided never to go back again. The portion sizes have halved, the taste is completely gone. Out of my entire meal, all I enjoyed was the lemon lime and bitters drink. I order Malai Kofta and Garlic naan, and the drink. Everytime before this visit, they would let me upgrade my naan without charge if I cancelled the rice and the waiter refused to do so this time or even to check with a superior if it was a thing. They charged us a dollar for a tiny little plastic container for takeaway of leftovers, which has never happened before, and the container was clearly not even worth more than 20 cents. While paying for my meal at the counter, I offered some friendly feedback on how I felt that restaurant had changed since the last time Id been there and the waiter became absolutely defensive and started arguing about how their rice and naan is complementary and the meal price was only for the curry and the containers are so expensive and how their food is cheaper than elsewhere. I honestly disagree because the the tiny little dish that cost me 9 dollars wasnt even worth it. Next time, Im just gonna take a walk further along cuba and pick a different restaurant. I just told him that Im just trying to give constructive feedback and whether he takes it and improves his restaurant or not is up to him cuz like I said, Im never going back there again.

Our first dish was not authentic what so ever & had no flavour at all, we then had a back & forth ‘conversation’ with the waiter as he tried to argue it’s because we asked for ‘mild’...this should never affect the flavour of an Indian dish to the point it has no flavour at all, then he finally agreed to serve us the same dish with more flavour, 10 minutes later a completely different dish came out purposefully made 5x spicer that we couldn’t even eat it....(my partner is a spice lover so that’s saying soemthing)We then went to pay with a different person serving us and the original waiter walked up and started laughing...hmmmWe should have read the reviews before going..!Only reason I’m giving 2 star is because Malai Kofta was good and the price is cheap at lunch.Other than that I would not recommend.

Have eaten here many times due to close proximity and cheap prices. The butter chicken is usually pretty good though the quality is inconsistent. If youre ordering take aways, ensure you check your order before you leave. There have only been two occasions out of the 20 or so times Ive visited where there hasnt been a mistake. Usually its missing naan bread, the wrong naan bread or a different level of spice than requested.
