We stayed at the guest house and had our dinner and breakfasts here on both days. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, a lovely little rooftop restaurant and the host is very accommodating to diner requests/preferences. The food is very reasonably priced. HighlyRecommended!

Ginger Cafe is a lovely cozy restaurant on top of Shiva Guest House (where I stayed also) with a view on the Ganga (you can sit inside on comfy chairs or even outside), freshly prepared varieties of food and very nice management.It was great coming here again and again.

Shiva Guesthouse was the best place Ive stayed in India. The owners of the place are the most friendly people who care a lot about their guests having a good time. You can ask them anything and will always get honest answers and advice. The room was clean, the water was warm, the location is great - nothing to to complain about at all. Highly recommend!

I had the most amazing experience at Shiva Guest House in May. I stayed there for 3 nights with 2 of my girlfriends. 3 girls travelling India alone for the first time, but the owner Shiv and his family made us feel completely at home and safe. They showed us around and helped us orient our way so that we could have the most productive trip with the 3 days we had. The location is stunning, step away from the ghat. The rooftop patio overlooks the entire city and the river ganga. Overall, this is one of the best hostel facilities Ive stayed at, in a great location that shows you the true Varanasi experience. would definitely recommend it.

Absolutely the best place to stay in varanasi! Extremely clean, great food, lots of hot water, excellent fan and AC, warm kind family run guest house. Shiva is very knowledgeable about the area and will do anything he can to help. We booked 2 nights, however on arriving we booked a further 5 nights as we just felt so at home! The location is perfect. Moon took us for the sunrise boat trip and looked after us very well. If youre looking for somewhere to stay look no further ... and book!!!

Best location, just 5 minutes walking to the main ghat. Very clean. Dorm or private rooms. Hot shower!!! Owners are super polite and helpfull. They have a rooftop restaurant with amazing food at a very good price. Highly recommended!

Terrible place! The rooms are very different and dirty, not at all how its shown in their pictures. It is inside a small and filthy lane, and the vicinity is extremely non hygienic. One should avoid such a place. On top of that, they have dirty food being cooked on the floor that they serve you. It can bring you severe diseases. As a wellwisher I request all of you, please stay safe and avoid Shiva Guest House.Thank you for considering my honest opinion and review for a safer stay at Varanasi.

Beautiful place

Quite an ugly place, but its Varanasi / India... Dont expect to find somewhere really nice.The owner and his family are very nice people.Wifi is very slow and doesnt work sometimes.Doors dont close well, and get stuck...Both rooms had no toilet paper, and we had to go down 4 floors to ask for it.

Pokoje jsou ciste a v hezkem indickem stylu, stejne jako cely guest house. Paradne horka sprcha bez problemu. Majitele i personal jsou vstricni a mili, v cemkoliv napomocni. Kdykoliv se ubytuji znovu.Shiva guest house is great place to stay if you are in Varanasi. Location is 2 minutes walk to Ganga river and you have also great view from roof top terace to Ganga in one side and roofs of Varanasi on the other side. Rooms are very clean, nice, in indian style with the best hot shower in India we met. You can have a delicius breakfast or lunch, dinner in Shiva roof top restaurant as well. Perfect place to stay and everything is near from here. Stuff is realy nice and helpfull. I definitely recommend and Id like to come back. Thank you and see you.

Location is good but hostel extremely hard to find! Room was very basic but clean (bathroom too). Absolutely no atmosphere, staff not so friendly.

Not bad people but very strange, they got angry the first night because i returned after 11 pm because they said were concerned. Next day i had to go because the miscommunication continued.Im not saying it wouldnt suit anyone buy definitely didnt suit me.The location though is next to the river, very close to the main Ghat

The owner is kind. The guest house was safe and secure. Its a 2-minute walk from the Ganges river, so its easy to see the main Ghats evening Puja. There are various shops and cafes nearby. The rooms are clean and clean, cute decor. The view from the roof was wonderful morning and night and I was moved.You can dine in the scenic restaurant, and the chai and curry are delicious.

I stayed at Dmitry Rs 300 for 3 nights.In the room, there are 2 double beds forcibly placed in a very narrow place, and the shower and toilet are right next to it, but the water pressure in the shower is very low and it is quite delicate.The only salvation is that the Ganga Vue & Asahi & Sunset from the roof are beautiful.There is Wifi, but it does not connect in a dormitory.

A warm welcome, an interesting geographical position and a well kept inn. The rooms are a bit small and difficult to access for those of the 3rd floor but the prices are good! Beware of monkeys on the terrace

Nothing was alright. Booked room did not get, afterwards no discount, water not adjustable, either glowing hot or freezing cold. Fully ripped off. Not recommendable.

It is difficult to understand the place, but it will tell you if you ask Indians. The hotel has a nice view from the roof and you can feel the atmosphere of India. But wifi is not so good

The room was super clean, spacious, decorated and comfortable. It has everything you need and more. The location is unbeatable. The very rich restaurant and Shiva and his brother are excellent hosts, very reliable, agile, and helpful, they helped us with everything we need. (I recommend hiring the taxi that Shiva offers to take them directly to the hotel since it is not very easy to find it if it is the first time in Varanasi)

The owner family is kind to everyone. It is a big negative that the connection of Wi-Fi is bad. It is important to note that the nearby free Wi-Fi restaurant is not well connected.
