The property gives you a real good experience of a palace. The food was delicious but the choice is limited. Lake side view is open for the guest but they dont even serve a cup of tea or coffee, that was unexpected. The restaurant view is awesome however I did not get a feel and experience of a Taj. This was like typical 3 star restaurant. Furnishing, crockery was no way a match to a palace hotel. I could not believe that the Menu card was a laminated sheet like a dhaba. My suit room with a lake view and the lake side pool area for a perfect relaxing evening

There has been no property of Taj which has disappointed us in anyway. Taj Fateh Prakash at Udaipur has been our fresh experience for 3 nights. This place is spell bound when it comes to reviews! Be it location, food, rooms, amenities, hygienic condition, amenities, staff, bar service, everything is top notch. This experience was beyond tajness! Our stay initially was of 2 days which we extended it for 1 more night and hence we enjoyed the grandeur of two different rooms. The views from both the rooms were out of the world. If you love sunsets then you will be locked in here forever. Food at sun set terrace was extraordinarily delicious. Our all special requirements were taken care off in the best possible way. In drinks menu, they can improve a little more with additional items.Room service and amenities, you have everything right in front of you. The house keeping staff leaves you with no complaints at all. Plus the house keeping staffing are great photographers too! You have all the right poses and spots covered when you are around them. A thank you word is underestimated for the staff at Fateh Prakash.Duty Managers - Mr Ravi and Mr Rahul. They both are more than managers. An instant connection with them made our stay irreplaceable. They surprised us with all the correct things :-)House keeping - Bhanvar Bhai, Kishan Singh and Dinesh. They are so kind and hard working. Their way of greeting is to be missed by us. Sun Set Terrace Restaurant - Chef Prakash, Supervisor Surendar, Lal Singh, Kalu Sinh, Naval bhai and Ramesh bhai. Thank you so much for all the love through food. You fed us with so much care, love and comfort. All the complimentary desserts were out of the world. We already miss you all so much. Hope we can visit this property pretty soon.

Its an honor to stay at heritage property at taj fateh prakash. As usual tajness was overloaded all services are at its best. Specially thanks to Kalu Singh and Lal Singh and Balu Singh at f and b always there to help you they made my stay memorable. Reception check in was its best love to visit again thank u once again. The staff in the restaurant and spa are awesome - they make you feel special. My feedback on house keeping staff is mixed. We were offered dirty linen. Those manning the reception need training on dealing with guests. Despite requesting to process check out 3 times, they were not ready with the bill. The approavh to the hotel is confusing with road repair work. Dont go by google map ask the locals. Would be nice if the hotel could proactively share instructions around approach roads not closed. Overall, a mixed experience..

Taj is Taj. Known for its service thats a given . This place is right inside city palace so you are actually living in a palace . This was early run by the HRM group and was taken over by Taj in early 2020. I repeat you are actually living in a palace. We stayed at the luxury suit and the view was breathtaking. A must visit for everyone.

We had booked the property for one day just after our wedding. We had the best experience. The ambience of the room was amazing. Cant emphasize enough of the good food. Its the best good I have had. We planned the stay for my 6 month marriage anniversary and Mr. Rahul Paliwal arranged a special welcome for us with an anniversary cake. Excellent service and efforts of him and the entire staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay an amazing one. The view from the hotel and the room is amazing. All safety and hygiene protocols were followed. Food was also excellent. You will get all kinds of cuisines as well as popular local dishes too. Enjoyed every bit of our stay and looking forward to visiting again with the entire family.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay an amazing one. I ordered something which used to be in their menu a year ago and they did all they can to specially prepare it for us. They also offered an upgrade on request as I needed some additional space to work. We didn’t move but they opened a few rooms to assist me. They really make your palace stay a brilliant one. We are planning to visit other palace properties in Taj inventory later this year! Keep up the good work team Taj.Tips and Recommendation: You may visit the restaurant for a great view during sunset.Palace front rooms are amazing. However, being a palace property felt you need to see the rooms to understand whats actually good for you, an upgraded category of room doesn’t-really mean you feel more space due to the architecture and design.

This place has no service in order. Not the Taj quality that we are expecting when we are paying so muchl. They messed up our rooms during check ins and were unapologetic about the same. Food is below average and they are using plastic chairs in their restaurant!! Service is extremely slow, property is small and it’s better you save your money and go somewhere else.

Lovely experience. The view from the hotel is amazing and equally amazing is the history of the place. Staff is very courteous. We had kids of 3 years of age and could manage without any problem.Highly recommended

Never stay at this property, if you are at a age, where you have walking or knee problems or if you are senior citizen. Decent Rooms are far from elevator and ups down with atleast 15-20 stairs to reach to room, makes your experience bad. Visiting restaurant for 3 meals makes 60-80 stairs to climb daily. I visited with my parents age of 80 and it was unpleasant experience.

Writing this review even before checking out. From the smooth check in until my stay for 3 days, everything was impeccable.Esp. The lobby staff Rahul who gave us 2 room options to choose from. Had a wonderful stay for my birthday celebration. One of the most memorable experience ever in Udaipur. Location is mesmerizing with stunning view of lake pichola, surrounded by Aravali hills. Scenic beauty out side of room balcony at its best when you wake up with glass of coffee and end up a tired day with glass of alcohol.Property is well maintained and not leaving a single pinch of being Royal. Pool was not allowed because of Govt. Restriction.Sun set restaurant gives you wonderful scenic view of surrounding where you can spend memories with great food. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options to choose from. Restaurant team along with Chef loves your feedback about food 😄.On duty team - Mr. Rahul Paliwal, Mr. Ravi and Darban Mr. Bharat are very courteous and helpful.A surprise Cake and flowers decoration arranged in room while Mr. Rahul came to know from my 6 yrs old kids about my birthday. - This is purely delighted and best hospitality experience. 😄Cherry on top was, we had complimentary access for short transportation to City palace and boat ride point by electric vehicle - they call as Bagghi.Overall wonderful and soothing memories, nothing else.P.S. : Dont rely on Google maps to reach here as it shows shortest possible way, which can be turned into old city road, congested and denied for cars. Fateh Prkash is a old place , part of Main city place of Udaipur . A 400 years old Palace which is the Residence of Royal family of Mewar ( Udaipur) till date.Presently run by Taj gropu of hotels which is the strongest luxury hotel chain today.Extraordinary view , ultimate luxury , Excellent food, great service ( Tajness : Taj hospitality ).The ambience in ultimate , the royal palace , the Pichola lake m view of the city and lake palace.Probably this is one of best hotel in Udaipur , worth visiting.

Had a wonderful two days stay here in Aug this year. Wonderful property, forms a part of the famous city Palace and the view of Lake Pichola from the rooms is majestic( all the rooms have the view). The interiors have been done up really well after the property was taken up by Taj. The furniture, the architecture all speaks great of the Tajness. The dinner at the Sunset Roof Palace was wonderful. The staff is very polite and helpful. Would specially like to thank Mr Deepak for all his help and his knowledge about the place he shared with us. Service is prompt and food yummy. One of my best stays with Taj and it will always hold a special place in my heart specially cz of the view the rooms provide. A must place if u r planning a trip to Udaipur.

The property is absolutely astounding with breathtaking views of the lake. Staff assisted with a smooth check-in and even offered a complimentary room upgrade to accommodate our family and ensure the utmost luxurious experience for us. The property is an absolute wonder with views and access to the city palace which is a marvel of the olden era; not to mention the rooms have a palatial vibe and setup giving one the sense of being in a royal ambience. Taj Fateh Prakash is definately worth a try for those who loves heritage feels and great luxury.I gave 4/5 star, one star less because the room was half the size shown in the picture. We booked Grand Luxury suite with Bathtub Jacuzzi & Sit Out. We got Sitout and Bathtub Jacuzzi but room was pretty small than what they show in pictures. Also the sitout area is not private, it is shared with 3 other rooms, so don’t expect full privacy.Things we loved :1. Staff, food, service and room quality everthing is top-notch, what you expect from Taj Level.2. You will get splendid view of Lake Pichola and Taj Lake Palace.3. One major benefit of staying here is that you get City Palace, Convention center, Crystal meuseum, Shiw niwas palace etc on a walking distance. Also the hotel provides free cart service to pick up and drop you off around the Palace.4. Security is polite enough to even wash your car.Things to note before you choose this hotel :1. The hotel is a part of city palace itself so whenever you wanna go out to Udaipur city or come back, you have to go through market traffic and city palace crowd.2. The king and their family lives on top of the palace so there is 24*7 security on the premise which is definitely good but sometimes you will feel irritated as everytime you come back they ask to show booking receipt or room key.3. Not enough parking space. Therefore no valet as well.4. The hotel food is splendid and high quality. But I would suggest that if you have already tasted Taj Food, then don’t waste 5000 Rs per day on Taj Buffet. Udaipur manek chowk and local market is nearby. If you love to explore, You can go and try local cuisines. There are many rooftop cafes nearby which are worth a try.All in all, this is a great resort for a explorer, business traveller, family and people who love heritage. But definitely not the place for people looking for full privacy.

The fifty rupee ticket gets you access to the region where Fateh Prakash Palace Hotel, Jag Mandir Island, Crystal Gallery & Durbar Hall & The Sunset Terrace Restaurant are located. The Crystal Gallery has one of the most stunning collection of objects made of crystal including crystal chairs but entry is an expensive affair at 500 Rupees and photography isn’t allowed inside. If one is not overtly concerned about the no photo rule, then a visit to the Crystal Gallery and the Durbar Hall can be combined.

One of the best heritage hotels earlier managed by HRH group is now managed by Taj and while the rooms and views are breathtaking; service standards have dropped. Post pandemic the front desk experience at most of the Taj properties has deteriorated where the staff is less courteous and not willing to even listen at times. The restaurant was unable to manage breakfast crowd however people like Lalsinghji and surendar ji continue to hold high standards of service one would expect from a palace property. HRH group managed the hotel way better than Taj is doing and if Taj quickly doesnt pickup on their differential treatment to guest specially by the front desk team, they will no longer remain best brand. Being a taj member for long, the post pandemic experience is disappointing but truly appreciate their housekeeping and restaurant staff who continue provide unmatched service.

Not living upto standards of Taj , property looks run down & is under maintenance. Most of the time it reminds you as if u staying near an under construction property !! Pathetic staff service , ask for toiletries or room service , things will get delivered after 20/25 minutes . Staff is rude and doesn’t know how to treat a guest ! Though property has good view overlooking Lake , but not worth the money for the kind of service they offer ! Definitely not the Taj we know !!

A Relaxing stay..!! Visited with family for 3 nights . The location on the banks of beautiful Lake Pichola is awesome. You get great and relaxing view of Taj Lake Palace and boats from restaurants and rooms. The hotel location as part of the city Palace complex is the best you can find in Udaipur. The markets and city Palace are just a golf cart away. The highlight of the hotel is ofcourse the exceptional hospitality of the Taj staff with each and everyone from housekeeping staff to Senior management all taking pains to Ensure a comfortable stay. Finally the food was sumptuous with Chef even preparing us an awesome Rajisthani meal. Throughly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable place with Heritage feel.

I had been to this hotel on 29th August.A really good property.Good rooms with great architecture.Great location besides the Pichola lake.A nice experience of a heritage property.The thing which was lacking was the Covid safety measures which are very much necessary and important which was very deficient in this hotel.We opted for a Taj property just as we were very much worried about the hygiene measures of other hotels.We had been to Taj Aravalli few weeks back and there they took great care for Covid safety and that made us go back again to the Taj property.But this was not a good experience of Taj in terms of Coronavirus safety measures.These was not expected from a Taj property.1. Many of the staff members were wearing their masks below their nose.2. No staff member was wearing a face shield which they used to do atleast in Taj Aravalli 2 weeks back. Atleast the food serving staff is supposed to wear a face shield as while eating the guests are naturally without masks.3. There was no social distancing followed in the restaurant where there were almost every table occupied with very less distance between the tables.4. In the breakfast they kept a Buffet, where people had to self serve from the vessels which could be a huge source of infection spread.Would really appreciate if a good hotel brand such as Taj would maintain the best standards of safety and hygiene and does not dissapoint in terms of safety when I visit any Taj property again.

Hospitality is the best in class. One just enjoys the stay tension free. The view from the room is awesome. Only one point, it would be worthwhile to explain the guests how to reach as almost full Udaipur is under maintenance.

The hospitality and service we received was extraordinary. The stay was up to the mark. High level of sanitisation is maintained. Food is extraordinary. The rooms are spacious and have all the amenities you need. You really feel royal while your stay here. Highly recommended. Value for money for sure.

Visited the crystal museum of Taj fateh palace. The entry fee is 700rs which is exorbitant. It has only a hall and crystal gallery. Worth watching but not worth the ticket fee.

Earlier a HRH group property, fateh prakash palace is now a taj property. The palace hotel is located just opposite Pichola lake. Its connected to the museum and city palace as this is a part of the palace as whole. There is crystal gallery in fateh prakash palace which you can see by buying the entry tickets. It houses the best crystal collections of the Maharaja. Amazing location and view.

Probably The Most Opulent and Beautifully Maintained Hotel/Palace in Udaipur with magnificent views from the Lakeside Rooms and the Panoramic Restaurant. Great Service and Guest Treatment . The Poolside Area will simply blow you away with its beautiful views especially in the evenings. Loved it!!

Taj fateh prakash provides sub standard rooms as compared to counterpart hotels like shivniwas and jagatniwas. Yes, its Taj group, but the room quality and food is below other hotels.They also value money over customers. We got our reservation confirmed after a lot of difficulties and begging them for confirmation as their customer service doesnt care.I would clearly recommend people choosing shivniwas and jagat Niwas over Taj because they provide better palace and royal experience in much reasonable price. Food is better in those hotels too!

My wife and I had an exceptional stay at this property.We had booked one of their suites for a one-week workcation. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a much better suite, where spectacular views of Lake Pichola, the Lake Palace and the Jag Mandir awaited us.The room was spacious, beautiful, clean and comfortable. The private jacuzzi in the room, the Sunset Terrace restaurant (which serves excellent food and overlooks the lake) and the Jiva Spa were fantastic bonuses. What really sets this property apart, though, is the quality of service. During our stay, no request was too much for the wonderful staff at this property.There are many luxury properties to choose from in Udaipur. However, for its unparalleled service, competitive prices and excellent location, we will go back here the next time we are in Udaipur.
