Thane railway station

According to me this station is very bad because No Cleaning, the plase is full of water,And waiting room is also not good like Delhi only one small room.The light wiring of the station is also filled with rain water. Due to which short circuit of the light can also happen.look at last image this is ticket office Thane.

Thane station is huge local train and outstation going train station with 8-9 platforms adjacent to each other which can be crossed via walking over bridges constructed in the station. The station has many private and government stalls for fast food, magazines, etc. The size of station may be around 1 km long with platform of half km long & half km wide. Announcements for trains are done in marathi basically & there are digital boards for same in all platforms. Platform 1 is for cst, 7-9 for navi mumbai routes, 2-5 for cst, vadala, dombivali routes. 4/7 is for outstation trains dedicated. Bad part is too much crowd that travel & rush to enter trains in peaks hours (office) make it all sweaty, tiresome, risky. Bus system is connected as well. Overall i rate it 4/5.

Thane Station has been improving its facilities since last 7-8 years and thats why, I love it.First it was SATI to improve Bus traffic, then sky walk, then multiple exit FOBs to exit the station easily plus AC Toilets.The station is always upgrading its facilities.All in all, although there are many things to improve but it still is one of the best in terms of facilities.

Announcement system is OK. Platform roofs leak in rainy season. Stray dogs & beggars roam on platform. Nobody seems to check journey-ticket / platform-ticket at entry/exit of the platform. Metal/bomb detectors are absent/ not in use at entry/exit of Railway Station.

A very busy station and yet no hygenie is maintained.. Very less security as compared to western railway! Beggars and dogs roam freely on platform no 1. Zero security for ladies insipte of repetative complaints.The railway helpline number 182 is ineffective for adhering to the commuters grievances.

One of the major railway junctions located on the central line...thane junction connects central and harbour line together...every mail/express takes a halt on thane railway station and navigates further..this place is heavily crowded at peak hours..public dont have space to walk on smaller bridges..all essential amenities are not provided here...thane railway station connects to you to the lifeline of thanekars which is their bus service...three middle bridges of the thane railway station directly connect you to the local bus station which is located above station..you can find a lot of food options outside thane station but dont expect something quality stuff on the stations...life here is really tuff for the train commuters at peak hours because they need to travel in extreme rush situations,this becomes a more challenging task at the time of monsoons...a lot of efforts are being taken to keep the city clean,make sure you wont dump anything on the streets or anywhere else except the dustbins😊

PLEASE BEWARE, Especially THANE Station has reported such Issues in Bulk. A lot of my friends has been theft by PickPocketors, especially while trying to get-inside train RUSH. They JumpOut ur phone/wallet from your pants while you are completely focused to get inside the train. It gets bounce off if you wearing even loose or tight jeans. They push it out from bottom to make it fall / jump out from your pocket. This happens like super quick. STAY ALERT.
