Good friendly staff, will open the door to welcome you. A small area to dine. Can seem congested, especially given the crowds expected here on weekends. Food was good, but can be on the pricey end when compared to similar outlets in the area. However, with the high price comes good serving quantity. One Fried Rice dish can be easily between 2 people. Walls are soundproofed as well, given the constant bustle outside.

Went to this wonderful Anjappar in Syed Alwi Road with my family for dinner and got to say I had the best fine dining experience. The ambience and the hospitality made me feel home. The place was very clean well kept as it is very important to during this pandemic to have a peace of mind.We ordered Madurai mutton thosai, Moroccon Chicken fry, Chicken fried rice, mutton nalli Kari and Dory fish cubes. The food was fantastic and I was just amazed by the brilliance of the Dory fish cubes. It literally melts in your mouth ! Highly recommend this place ! The service was amazing and the price is a great deal for the quality of the food and serving style you get. I will definitely recommend this place and will come back here for more amazing evenings with great food !

Went to Anjappar in Syed Alwi Road on Good Friday with my family and got to say I got the best experience! The place was so packed and we managed to get a place because of the super kind staff there. Had the best food and got to say I loved the ambience and the staff there. Special mention to the Indian lady in the counter who took the extra effort to come down to us and patiently explain the dishes. My kids have been keep pestering me to bring them back to the aunty shop which is the Anjappar just to see the lady. Just want to recommend this place to anyone who is looking for the best service and food 💯👍

Foods are tasty. Specially the sea fish that they offer is better than other neighborhoods. Place is very noisy.

Customer service was terrible. I was waiting too long to get a menu. Even though it was not crowded at all. The staff was didnt even care to get the order. I had to call them several times to get the menu and then gave the order. Extremely disappointed. Food taste was average. Not worth for money spent there.

Had bamboo chicken briyani which comes with hard boil eggs yoghurt raita.papadam.Wash down with ethnic black indian tea.Food is extremely good and filling.Superb staffs who come to you and ask how is the food and do we need any top ups.well trained staffs and friendly.

Mutton biriyani and mutton soup is good. Anjappar deep fried chicken is very dry.. dont go for it if you are already thirsty 😉I recommend a visit there.

Scrumptious food, great customer service and very friendly / helpful staff. 5 stars aren’t enough to justify the overall experience for the team at Anjappar, Syed Alwi Rd. I don’t usually write restaurant reviews but a place like this warrants several of these testaments.

While on s short 2 week visit to Singapore i decide to head out to Little India to try out some of the names on Syed Alwi road. I hit Anjappar given their fame for chettinad spicy recipes. Being alone I didnt have the appetite for a curry and rice and bread items. So i went for plain Chicken biriyani. It came out in 10 minutes and the crowd was just starting to come in as it was just 12:30 only. The biriyani was prepared in Pulav rice as opposed to my expectation of basmati rice. It was more like Ghee and Pulav rice mix with chicken and boiled egg inside. The chicken was well cooked and succulent and soft. But the rice was a disappointment. It was not just medium spicy and there was raita and the chettinad gravy in a small rasa bowl.May be the biriyani recipe is unique and other curries might be better but my first trial was not a great taste experience.To be fair, I was very hungry so i finished it. There were too many waiters and I could see at least 3 of them running to serve same table and passing items like laborers passing bricks at a construction site, may be because the crowd was light. They were mostly talking to each other in lively manner and playing around.Lighting and overall ambiance appear good and there was not smoke or smell panning out of the kitchen. There is the glass window where you could see the tandoori items. I didnt have to wait to get seating may be i was too early.In one short line I would say the taste did not stand up to the name, may be next time I would try some other curry items. But for SGD 14.12 the biriyani was not worth it.

I am not sure whether is it a one off thing. The person in counter is only interested in using his handphone. He is not interested in taking food order from myself. Fortunately (12jun2021), there are many other restaurants to appease my hunger. So i left without the shop and he continued to use handphone. Lol.

Consisting the food they served the price is just too much. I feel that their service quality need to drastically improve as well as their behaviour.

Good for chettinad food.

Too yummy South Indian food. Eating here felt like as if we were eating in India itself(taste-wise). We went for dinner on a weekend without making any reservation and we could get a table as soon as we got there. I would definitely love to go and eat there again. Downsides- wash basin for customers to wash their hands was dirty and coconut paan sold at the billing counter was not good and spoilt the flavour of food.

Had a great lunch experience with Anjappar today, first time at this outlet, Syed Alwi road, service was fantastic, Mr. Rajan made sure of that. He made us feel very welcome. Had a regular set meal with mutton varuval ...special for the day. Steamed rice was awesome, best ever I had ... was informed as pulangarasi, need to experience it. Will be a regular customer after today, well done to team at Anjappar , syed alwi road. 😀👏👏

After heavy load of shopping st Mustafa one is bound to be hungry and if you cone from South of India you can not resist trying out one of the several Indian Restaurants including a plenty of South Indian Chain of Restaurants. Chettinad food is one of the speciality of Tamilnadu, using variety of spices giving it a peculiar taste savoured in Chettibad Region of Tamilnadu. Anjappar serves good chettinad food in Singapore. The food is good only thing I did not like was the presentation. Price was also not much compared to Singapore standards...

Food quality is bad. Utappam not cooked well. Bad chutnies. Meals also not good. No taste. We were disappointed with food.

Nice place for a traditional south Indian meal. The prices are reasonable and the service is good. This area has so many Indian restaurants on the same stretch but this place still manages to keeps its customer base.

Anjappar (Syed Alwi) provides fantastic South Indian food that will make you always want to come back for more. The service is excellent and the staff are all very friendly. They are very good with their recommendation. The mutton chop is really out of this world. My family and I love to come here for our dining. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

I came here many times to Anjappar Singapore and it’s close to 5 years. So, all these years I have got a wonderful service and the food served is quite satisfying.I prefer you all to visit once here and try all the varieties (mix of both veg and non-veg). It’s the taste of chettinaad.I give 5 stars for the food and also for the ambience.

Preordered for 12pm but received food at 1.45pm.I cant even get thru both phone lines to enquire. If cant cope with delivery orders on festive seasons, then should not accept pre orders or have the courtesy to call customers and inform.Horrible first experience and service.

Been to Anjappar Syed Alwi road there the staff force us to write a review. I showed my mobile and said i will write review but staff is choosing 5 stars and telling me to write my review as like i am ignorant that he chose star rating. Very unethical and i believe most of the reviews are forced reviews.Food is good but forcing people to giving 5 stars is poor strategy to improve their brand value. I hate such practice. I want to give 0 star but google dont have it so giving 1 star.

Very Poor Service.The workers are unfriendly and busy walking up and down. No eye contact given nor greeting you. Food was too expensive. A cup of tea costs about $4 dollars which is a ridiculous price. Overpriced and bad hospitality. Have to sit and wait long for the waiter to serve you. An outlet of one of the best South Indian cuisine restaurant chains in the world. Serves amazing food. Situated in one of the most bustling areas of Singapore - Little India. Its a great idea to shop till you drop in Mustafa Super Mart and then dine at Anjappar which is situated at stones throw. Do not forget to try chapati here. Its amazing - very soft and delicious. Chicken items are particularly better in taste than the veg items. Nonetheless, vegetarians can also enjoy a sumptuous meal here.
