Arya Bhavan is located diagonally across from Mustafa Center and is a popular South Indian vegetarian restaurant. I went there for dinner with family and friends, and it was a lovely experience. You can actually see and feel the freshness of the food which is because they do not use MSG or artificial flavors and they dont reuse the cooking oil. The service was extremely good and although we went at a popular time, the staff ensured that all customers got proper attention and they answered questions on the menu. I will plan to revisit and recommend the place to those who like the South Indian cuisine.

A Prominent Veggie restaurant in Little India @ Verdun Rd. They provide decent and authentic amount of menu! Everything tastes sooo good with them. My altime favorite would be Kothu Paratha, Ghee Pongal, coconut Poli and finally the rose milk. You can also try their corn dosai, Millets dosai...The customer service will be very professional and you feel like home! Their food is too good even you can have on a regular basis. But before Covid-19 their menu list was about 4 pages but right now they have reduced to 2 page which is the only sad thing to note.

My honest feedback:Veg meals was really good but expensive 12$. I list here what are the veg meals dishes which I liked sambar- excellent, aviyaal-good,poriyaal-Good,kerra kutu-good, butter milk - excellent.Things they need to improve.I gave only 4 becoz the sambar quantity gave is very very small cup and I need to call them 3 times to get sambar its bit annoying.Poodi saathaam salty.Rasam not goodPuli khozmbu too much thick and not so good.Overall summary far better than other veg meals in Singapore especially maduras villas newly opened in Singapore total waste.

Amazing South Indian food, beautifully presented! Did not expect to enjoy this half as much as I did ... even ended up ordering Raagi Dosa. They were served with a sprinkling of fried cashews and curry leaves. The coconut chutney, red chutney and sambar were all equally tasty and we had a hard time choosing our favourites.

7/10Ill be coming here again for their range of dosas.I have never had many types of dosa before, so this was an interesting experience.I chose the buckwheat (Raghi) dosa which tasted great, especially with the nuts sprinkled on top which was different to the ingredients Im used to with this dish. The malala tea was lacking in flavor, but I find thats typically the way at south indian restaurants. I heard the coffee is good though. The staff were friendly and the service was not slow. The place was clean and had an ok ambience and vibe, more of a canteen feel than a restaurant, but still pleasant nonetheless. The value was ok, at $6 its more than I usually pay for dosa, but the ingredients and fact that it was a different type to the most common ones are probably the reason for that.Worth a visit if youre interested in south indian cuisine and want to explore the different varieties of dosa from that part of the world.

I used eat tiffin items here and it is one of the best placr for all such dishes. This time we tried the rice meal and it was one of the best. For $12+ you get a huge variety of dishes. The serving of meals was a bit slow...but worth waiting. For time being they allow only two person per table for dine in. The restaurant is clean and the manager is focused on customers. There are ample parking around the place. You can also park inside Mustafa Center.

Would compare it to having food at a close friends house. Its a place where an authentic South Indian thali is served with warmth which does make ones taste buds dance away to glory!Be there during the regular lunch time to savour the thali as it is not available after a certain time (please check their website). I was lucky to visit it at noon and to my delight, ate till my heart and tummy was full! 👍

Very very tasty South Indian VEGETARIAN food. I had thali meals and son had mini Sambar idly. Definitely worth every penny. Clean place, bright, they follow social distancing properly, I am definitely coming back again and again.Just out of curiosity I looked at the negative reviews out there.Almost all those comments about food not being tasty are about North Indian items. One must be stupid to go to Nagercoil Arya Bhavan and order North Indian. Guys, you didnt pay attention in your Geography class? Nagercoil is at the southern tip of India. Please eat South Indian dishes in this restaurant. Many have commented on bad service. The serving staff could be a bit more welcoming, and occasionally smile at customers, but then I personally dont bother about these things. The place is small and many staff are there cris-crossing the place, so I am sure just lifting your hand and calling for a staff, and being polite and thanking them after service, would get a service that you can adjust with. I actually got a pretty good service from a gentleman there. On the whole a fantastic place to have delicious South Indian vegetarian food. The picture shows my thali lunch, all items are unlimited, chapati was soft, dal was tasty, all side dishes were amazing.Hope to come here often.

Food was okay. Sambar was good. However, noticed a service charge of 10% appearing in the bill for takeaway! When queried, the boss replied it was for the cutleries & boxes - still not right to reflect as service charge. Very misleading and incorrect. One of the highest charges for such takeaways I noticed in tekka area. Customers may wish to scrutinize their bills before paying.

I was here for a snack before my shopping at Mustafa! I ordered the cashew dosa, plain idlli and onion uttapam. They are served with a small bowl of curry and also the usual pickles, mint, coconut and chilli sauce. The restaurant also serve free drinking water (chilled and room temperature). Service is good, staff are attentive and friendly). The seat are also roomy and comfortable. I must say my cashew dosa is very good. Its crispy and ver flavourful, the cashew gave the texture extra crunch as well. I will certainly visit again!

One of the latest Vegetarian Indian restaurant in Singapore. The location is excellent in centre of little India, next to Mustafa shopping centre. This had mainly South Indian food option and few North Indian dishes too. We tried the Meals which was very good, a very typical Tamil style meals, lots of side dishes. We also tried Chapati and a paneer dish, which was OK.. overall a very clean place and welcome add to vegetarians in Singapore.

Our order: paneer kadai, gobi manchurian, garlic naan and butter naan. As per others review we too found loads of oil in paneer kadai. Gobi manchurian was less oli comparatively but it had too much fried onion. Naan were not properly baked. Kadai paneer had huge pieces of capsicum. Overall taste was okish. This being bad part..good things were low rates compared to other restaurants. This may b because it started only few months back. They serve 4 types of chutneys default. Those were better thn sabji we ordered.

I had the dosa and veg meals on separate visits to this restaurant. The meals stand somewhere between good and great. But they get full marks for the variety in their meals. Sambar, dal, ram, vathakozhambu and curd. Veggies included spinach daal, bittergourd, avial and a couple of other items. Papadam and vattal are also unlimited which is very welcome. The payasam was poor on some days. Buttermilk is also served with the meals. The dosas I tried were the ragi and wheat dosas; they were tasty. The dosas were large accompanied by a very small amount of sambar.Overall, the food is somewhere between good and great. The staff are extremely polite and friendly.

Singapore is not short of Tamil fast food or tiffin as they call it. However, this place is a gem which can be easily missed among the other big names. In my opinion, this trumps Komala, A2B and all others. The tastiest tamil fare and great quantity as well.If you are used to eating this cuisine, you are likely to agree. If you are trying out first time, do so. This gives a real peek into the tastes of Tamil cuisine as originated from India.

Review №52

Food quite ordinary. Taste and quality of food not consistent across days. Haphazard order management and tardy indifferent staff. i have been there thrice and found Levels of hygeine quite substandard. Many items shown on menu are not available. Basic services like availability of tissues , cleaniness of washbasin etc quite substandard.I am a south indian vegetarian foodie who relishes his pongals and dosas and idlys. I am always on lookout for good south indian vegetarian food joints. Off late i had been visiting MTR which i found to offer delicious authentic kannada vegetarian food. No doubt on the quality and taste at MTR, however their sambars are sweeter and i have tasted most items on thrir menu. After a point i yearned for authentic tamilnadu vegetarian taste. I decided to visit Arya Bhavan. I visited there with my family on a saturday at noon around 11.30. I requested for a few vada/pongal items but the staff mentioned it was not there. I was a bit surprised how  vada items are not available during peak eating hours. The sambar that came initially was  tasty and we ordered another item. However now the sambhar was very watery. It is likely they mixed water to increase volume. Not sure but the sambhar was not so great . The next portions of sambhar reminded me of sambhar that i used to eat at north indian shops in new delhi. We left with mixed feelings and my daughter said she wouldnt like to come here again. However i gave benefit of doubt and visited again today (saturday 11.30 am). Again most vada items and pongal items not there. One would expect items on the menu, esp basic south indian vada and pongal items to be available during prime hours of a weekend. Else, they should be removed from menu or need to clearly mention on display what is available and what is not so that people can decide if they want to go in. Again i found the sambhar quite ordinary. Also the portions of chutneys were quite small. Another thing i observed was that their glasses and spoons were not very clean. I could see unclean patches in glasses. Saw few customers across me cleaning the glssses with tissues. I also saw the serving staff cleaning the spoons right at the washbasin. Actually my expectations of cleanliness are quite basic given that i frequently eat street food in India. But i would think this being a proper mid price resturant, the standards of cleanliness would be better. What shocked me most was when a staff after cleaning a table simply unfurled the cloth in a quick action as they walked past my table. I could feel a small splash  on my face and food. I would think this was an honest mistake but i would ecpect staff to be more careful. Also i found washbasin quite unclean and no tissues to dry hands. I experienced the same during my previous visit with family. I was fairly dissapointed with the service and quality of food however i didnt want to create a scene. So I gave a general feedback on keeping food items on the menu available while i was paying at counter. I said that other  vegetarian resturants like MTR are able to ensure quality service and availability of items. My feedback was an earnest one with their best intetests in my mind. However, the person at the counter was quite rude and unwilling to listen. I hope Arya bhavan management can take this feedback and act on it

I visited this with several friends and on all the occasions the quality and the taste has been excellent ....especially the dosa items and of course the famous vegetarian South Indian Thali. the range of items in the Thali served is a dozen ... impressive and they take care of you very well like for instance in this case the gentleman served us with hot ghee on rice which is perfect combination for the podis. I love that awesome and sambar but Im not a fan of some of the other dishes like korma because they somehow dont mix well with south Indian cuisine especially the ones with garlic and too much onion gravy. My friend really liked the spinach curry and of course their rasam is quite a treat. Keep it up. The service levels could be improved but it could be because of the current covid situation that there are less workers. I hope like many other restaurants they start paying attention to the food quality and the healthy meals by serving options like brown rice and also a little bit less oil....if feasible....if there is one thing which they have to really focus on and improve it should be the coffee....it is not good... it is very milky and doesnt have good aroma like any South Indian coffee restaurant should have.

Both the set-meal and a-la-carte items were awesome. Since, they dont accept tour-groups, they do not cut corners- as a result, the quality of their food ingredients remain of top-quality.You can safely try any of the items on the menu:my favorites were the millet-thosai of the day, mini-idli set (only in the evenings) and paneer-biryani (very tasty- even though I am not a huge fan of paneer!)
