Average taste and very bad attitude, my son uttapam had a big piece of tile which almost broke his tooth. (Kitchen is partly under renovation), but instead of apology the waiter n cashier shamelessly offered a discount of 30rs to round up to nearest hundred. Even service was pathetically slow. Please avoid unless dying of hunger, but search for rubbles before every bite. Wonder how they r running since 70s

Dont get carried away by the name of the restaurant. First of all not even single person I saw was from Madras. Secondly its a ok shop for those who have not tasted South Indian food that much. Otherwise the taste is not that good to say a must visit spot. Otherwise staffs and. Service are good despite the food taste.

Very poor food, pathetic , we ordered rava masoor dosa cost Rs. 200/-, served rava dosa like rehri patri standard hardly costing 30-40 rupees, very much disappointed

Menu had all South Indian dishes as expected. On taste I would say they were far behind the authentic taste. Idlis were served cold. Sambhar was hot and nice and multiple servings served. Paneer uthapa was very thick and tasteless.

Have been visiting this place from last 4 years but recently they have changed tha furniture and serving plates and the change is disappointing ... The ambience of the place has gone down drastically and it feels like a cheap place due to the lackluster interior.. Also the plates in which the food is served reminds me of my hostel plates..

This is one of the worst restaurants Ive been in my life. The whole place is 30 years old with pathetic cloth sofa that never been cleaned for ages. Smells of rancid butter. Idly was not cooked. On the top of all these abuses, food was so very expensive and we (me and Amma) both got food poisoning. Please avoid by all means.

Being a southindian i can proudly recommend this place. The food may not taste exactly the same, but is very tasty. We had the Special Paneer masala cheese dosa (Rs.185) which was really good. Next we had the mushroom cheese noodles (Rs155) which was good too. I would recommend you to try different dishes and ask the waiters for their specialty. Prices are reasonable and i recommend this place to tourists and travelers alike.

A very renowned purely vegetarian restaurant beside the ghats and taxi stand in Rishikesh established in the 60s serving a lot of variety like sandwiches, pastas, beverages, appetizers and north and south Indian main courses as well as Thalis. Hygienic and Clean. Prices are little bit high but you will get a maintained quality. A must visit place.

Looking for a great place to have South Indian cuisine in Rishikesh? This is the place then. Its got a very cozy interior and the ambience makes you feel at ease. The decor is pleasant and the food is great. I found the staff quite courteous. Try idlis, dosas here and can vouch for South Indian cuisine although they do serve Chinese as well but thats avoidable unless you are up for the challenge! All in all a great place to have decent South Indian cuisine when you are in Rishikesh.

Place for tasty south Indian food.

The location of the resturant is easily accessible and there service is ok too. If you are worried about the cleanliness and hygiene then please dont visit here (you really dont like). Seating area is small but sufficient. The quality of food will vary based upon the type of food item. The dosa is ok but Veg thali is not at all ok when you are paying INR 135. In short abit expensive when you will compare price and quality of the food.

The price is quite high... There are shops in many other local streets that sells better Dosas ( but not south Indian meals ) at a lesser cost than this hotel..As its in the tourists road, to ram jula it has an competitive edge to other restaurants, as its being in the prime location..
