I booked live free hostel for 4 days seeing so many positive reviews online, but after reaching, I found it to be a worst place- with a list of reasons below. And The person at reception asks or (read forces) you to give a positive review online for 20% discount in exchange on the bill.Its a bit overpriced for the place as there is no proper maintenance. I would always suggest to go to Zostel 2.0, which is a lot more clean, fun and lively.live free hostel is full of Unprofessional people. Very rude people, who have no manners to speak to women. No Cleanliness at all; unhygienic place. On top of that i found 2-3 bedbugs in my bed sheets. This is unacceptable.Rooms were small. Cage like, no ventilation. Very slow Wi-Fi. My mobile data was faster than their wifi.Open circuits found inside my bed bunk. Which were very close to me. Now this can be fatal. Chances of getting electrocuted while you are on vacation, isnt certainly good experience.Failed to give us what I had booked online. I had booked 4 seater ALL FEMALE DORM, for 4 days, after one night the staff says I will have to shift to MIXED DORM ( male - female in same form room which is 8 seater with only 1 washroom)Even after online paid booking for 24-27th ie.the person at the reception said that I have to vacate as the booking is only for a day. I had to change hotel at 9 pm. Searching a hotel at 8 pm( 70% tapovan closes by 8-8:30pm) was not I planned of. Imagine female searching for accommodation in middle of night and that too in a new area.Washrooms are utter mess. The water comes back from the sink. So taking a bath has absolutely no point😂.Mess/ Cafe is also pathetic of this hostel. They served aloo ka paratha on the first day( not complimentary, I paid for it) and the potatoes in it had gone rancid, plus sticky thread like substance coming out of it. Reception or staff are so rude that they dont hear any complaints about them.I Wont recommend at all. Not a single positive point as I had a whole lot of horrible experience with live free hostel.I wont go here next time. And I dont recommend this place. I gave one star, as there is no scope of negative stars. it shouldnt even operate under such conditions

LIVE-FREE yes you wanna live free this is the place!! The people the vibes the stay is so freaking amazing!!! They have live music on every Saturday. The food at the cafe is really really goood. I had heard a lot abut this hostel but never got the feeling of booking it as I didnt get the confidence staying far from Rishikesh. But while returning back from trek, i decided to book it and we booked 2 rooms as dorm was not available. Rooms were spacious with clean washroom. I got the rooms for less than a thousand bucks. Every floor has the open space where one can relax and enjoy the view with cool breeze. Cafe cum common area at basement is another place to chill and relax urself. One gets books, board games, music instruments and a pool table to spend your time. While relaxing, you can try out the delicacies of cafe. Food is quite delicious and so are the beverages. On weekends, they had live music by local singers from Rishikesh performing and evry1 at the hostel enjoyed the same. They have a common washing machine too which one can use for nominal charges per bucket.We found Freya there, dog owned by caretaker and she was very cute and friendly. One wud definitely enjoy her company. Girls who came with us, extended their stay at live free as they were also enjoying the vibes of the hostel. Its budget friendly, good vibes, good food and located in the heart of Rishikesh, near to Beatles cafe.

This place is very near to Lakshman Jula and have a lot of restaurants and shops near by.The staff are very helpful and maintain the place very well.The hostel has laundry service, hot water 24/7. I stayed here for one day. It has very good, neat & clean room. Its Deluxe Thali, which I opted for Lunch was cooked deliciously.

The hostel is quite big. The have clean rooms to offer and the service is nice as well. Hot water available all the time and they do some barbeque is requested at night. The staff is friendly and helpful just as needed. Also the rates are quite nominal.

Really feels like home here!! Staff has been beyond helpful especially during the COVID situation. Beautiful property with a ton of common area spaces, clean rooms, and a cafe on sight. Live Free has the best location between Tapovan and Laxman Jhula. Would not stay anywhere else when I come to Rishikesh.

Situated at a walkable distance from Laxman jhula, this place offers budget accommodation. The bunk beds were nicely maintained with super clean washrooms (having all basic amenities) .They also have a common siiting area at every floor where you can just have mind-blowing views and chit-chat with other travellers. They also have a cafe, where they have games like pool, carrom and collection of books.Also, the staff is super friendly. You got to meet many other travellers, both foreigners and Indians, and can interact with meHighly recommendable stay. 😊😊

By far the Best hostel I have come across in India in the last few years of my travel, I say this because the dorms have awesome beds, the dorms are Spacious unlike the congested dorms rooms most witness, has a cool outdoor area, a big terrace facing the river and its clean. The hostel has a open kitchen and the wash machine is open for use for its residents. Most of all the Staff is superb, and proactive. Best wishes to Arpan(the owner), Shubam, Sumit and Karan(the next big chef in the making). Not to forget the hostel is situated just a few mins walk from Assi Ghat.PS: Thanks for dropping me to the train station in the middle of the night, triple seat, hahaha.

I had a great experience living at this hostel. Its located at a 5 minute walk from Laxman Jhula and was a perfect location for me. The in-house cafe has amazing food at reasonable prices. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. I lived in a female dorm first, which was very nice. The 8-bed mixed dorm was a little cramped, but each bed had curtains so I liked that. Its a lovely hostel but not as peaceful because there was construction going on at the time of my visit and you can hear a lot of noises from the road and the surroundings.

A great place for backpackers, the ambience, food and everything in this hostel is good. They have different events organised by the management and they provide you with special packages for water sports and other sight seeing in Rishikesh and other nearby cities. Truly loved staying at this hostel.Rooms are very cleaned and the service is also good.Would love to stay here again whenever I am at Rishikesh.

Amazing food and stay

I went for Chopta Chandrashila trek with them and boy was it the best trip of my life! Amazingly planned trek and great company to enjoy the trek with.

This was my first experience in a hostel. They have different sizes of dorms and private room. Parking space is for around 2-4 cars. Mostly this hostel has a 85-90% occupancy depending upon the season. Price wise its very cheap even the canteen food is very much economical. The cafe/lounge area has some board games snooker table and an L.C.D with painted walls and cushion seats. Overall 4 stars for the new experience.

One of the best hostels I have been too. The atmosphere here is so lovely that you can spend the whole day here without doing anything. Autos are available nearby so you can easily reach Lakshman jhula , Triveni ghat etc. So much of common space that you can sit anywhere and work.The only turn off was that in our room, gyeser didnt work properly even after getting fixed.

Its a descent property. Well maintained. Visited here to meet a friend and got a really good feedback from.him. You will get all kind of rooms (private, sharing basis). Wifi is available and owner is very cooperative. Nice option for solo travelers.

Best hostel expierence I had in India. Really friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and have lockers and they have a good cafe on the mainfloor. Options in local food and western food. They give as well free dinner every tuesday but even free chai daily (5:30pm). There is as well a laundry service available. The hostel is near many interresting places like waterfalls, the holy ganga, ...

It was amazing stay, i enjoyed a lot with all travellers. Meeting all new buddies sharing our stories and their too.I traveled in full too winter, so its too cold and hostel doesnt have heaters in rooms (ac are not required).one star less: gyser was not worked in my four sharing room.At last, hostel has good staff, good environment, good location, best for solo travelers.

Live free hostel is one of the best place I have ever stayed and located in every prime place near to Laxman jula with all the best cafeteria of Rishikesh. the hostel is a Vibe is such that you start feeling the vacation as soon as you check in. they have very nice facilities like hiring vehicles, trekking, yoga classes and their cafeteria is very good, their food is very tasty too. The room rents are priced very economically. The staffs are always helping and friendly. They accept cards, Mobile payments.
