Its a nice little property. The ocean is near by.The buildings at the front seem to be restored heritage kind. Not entirely sure about the building at the back. The Non A/C is a good clean options for transiting travel from the point of view of cost.There was a bit of a confusing attitude that was strange, bordering on indifference... But on further enquiry I figured this comes from the place being frequented by the hare Krishna lot of foreigners. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I usually hop around hotels after staying for 2 nights. Buy my family loved it so much I stayed there for rest of my vacation canceling all other hotels.You can walk in to the kitchen and get foods customized.The front lawn is too spacious and the pool will be cleaned every hour all the time despite no one is using. If you have kids or toddlers this is heaven.The owner is very very lineant. He will take care of your every needs.Pro tip - WiFi is 30 mbps which is rare in Puri

Staff behaviour was not good, too much mosquitoes, even the toilet do not have a flash and only tissues are available in an Indian toilet without any tap. Only the good things are it have regular cleaning and restaurant foods are fresh.

This place is just perfect, there is a lot of privacy and even though its facing a quite traffic road is peaceful. the rooms are clean and very well maintained, also the swimming pool is very clean and the garden is meticulously looked after. The owner is a very nice person, he is helpful and he is a rich source of information regarding Puri and Surrounding. Staff is polite and prompt. Food is good and clean. We really enjoyed out stay here and well surely come back.

A little oasis in the middle of a dusty, busy street.We had a room near the side road, so it was quite noisy quite late at night. Dogs barking early in morning.The staff were good, they ran up & down to our balcony with our breakfast, dinner.Food was ok, we had lobster on Christmas Day. Very nice.Had the room cleaned when we asked.Could perhaps do with new, white sheets.Food is also good in restaurant directlyacross the road.

A classic little hotel in a great location, friends had recommended Hotel Gandhara for which Im grateful. Set on a beautifully landscaped private property the hotel features a main building with a small restaurant. Just to the rear is a beautifully kept garden area with a large swimming pool in front of a 4 story building which houses the guest rooms. I loved this place!

A nice hotel where we chose to stay for a good price in one of their backpacker rooms, clean and fine. There are significantly more expensive and probably quieter rooms as well. Here is a small pool that is shaded perfectly by a fine tree. Food in the restaurant tastes good.

I stayed here for 2 nights which was the last stop of our week long trip from Chennai.Overall experience was great and fabulous. Rooms are spacious. Clean. Cozy. Comfortable. Equipped with mini bar. High floor with great view. Breakfast was good .Manager & staff are very good & kind Service was superb. Well recommend to all really love this property...

Initially booked 2 nights, then arrived at property and instantly chose to stay a week. Spoke to several other guests with exactly the same story. Cannot say enough good things about staff and facilities. One tiny nitpick, fairly limited selection in reastraunt, but about ten restaurants in a stones throw so no problem.

We had a nice stay at Gandhara for 3 days. Friendly staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. Good atmosphere in the garden. Close to beach . The rooms are clean and comfortable and the garden is Very beautiful.I will definetly recommend this hotel.

It has a swimming pool, which they try to keep clean but you will find cigarette buts in the water!!! The rooms are not worth their price. Because of severe power off, you wont get air-conditioning from generator. You do not get enough television channels to watch and the channels dont appear in many rooms. My guests (families with kids) were not allowed inside the hotel, beyond the reception area because of security reasons! The working staff is fine. However the manager and his team of receptionists are very rude. If you happen to break a napkin plate, they will charge you Rs. 180/-. Those two stars are because of those boys who work there day and night giving room service with smile on their face. There are better hotels in Puri with value for money.

Its nice place to stay. The complimentary breakfast was good. They have a swimming pool which is very neat and clean. Hospitality of the ppl are very welcoming.The price of the beer is more than the MRP. I would only suggestion to the owner that not so sell ove priced beer for which they can end up in lot of trouble.Its very close to the railway station.. if u have less luggage then u can have walk , will hardly take 15-20 min. Its close to beach, 5 min walk and 5 min drive from golden beach and the night market. Lots of nearby places to eat.If u want a descent place to stay close to beach and away from crowd then u should consider this place.

I spent seven nights at the Hotel Gandhara while on a recent trip to the Puri-Konark-Bhubeneswar triangle and have to say was impressed far beyond my expectations. Recommended to me by a veteran travel writer/expert on this particular region of India, the Hotel Gandhara delivered on all levels: service, cleanliness, as an oasis from the street front fray, the peaceful atmosphere, wonderful aesthetics and in their top shelf cooking staff. Owner Mr. Slomi runs a tight ship and it shows; its never uptight, always relaxed but always well organized and professionally run.Near the end of my stay I began reading through the TripAdvisor reviews on the hotel again just to review other perspectives and several of them mentioned the quality of the hotels lunches/dinners. Id only had breakfast there before heading out the door to sightsee everyday (I strongly recommend their Indian Breakfast; delicious, filling and energizing enough to keep one going past lunch time if needed) but on my last night decided to try the grilled fresh tuna they mentioned having on hand. The dinner and the fresh salad it came with was perfectly prepared and absolutely ~Sumptuous~...Before I gave the green light on my order the nice gentleman who had brought me my breakfast every morning (and who had astutely recommended the addition of some sugar to the curd portion of the Indian Breakfast; something that made me a true convert to that particular item) also mentioned a beef special they had on hand that night. Im not a red meat eater but the intoxicating smell of his creation was enough to sincerely make me reconsider the notion. Needless to say, although there are other decent food options nearby, I wished I hadnt waited until my last night to sample their post-breakfast fare; it was easily the best food I had during my stay in Puri. I cant say enough about this aspect of this hotel; great kitchen staff who are both very personable and highly skilled at their craft.I also booked a day tour to Konark, Dhauligiri, Bhubaneswar and the Udayagiri Caves through a very nice lady (Bijayalaxmi) with the hotels tour agency that they have on site which went splendidly. The driver they hired (Tapon) while having limited English skills was both an excellent and safe driver. Once he got the rundown on the details of what I wanted to see from the owner Mr. Slomi he was always sure to check in during our tour to make sure that all the stops Id asked about were being taken on the itinerary.In my travels around Puri I looked at other options for accommodation that Id considered and am thankful I ended up where I did. There are a few other spots that are probably worth considering but returning to the Gandhara is a no brainer for me when my travels bring me back through this part of India.

Excellent place if you want to spent some quality time with your family or friends in solititude and peace.The hotel is very basic but it is very clean and neat. Great home cooked food. 2 minutes from beach and 15 mins from the station.

One of the best hotels in India with reasonable prices!Simple but very clean rooms(very important in India). Some of rooms are air-conditioned(they are considered as Deluxe). Free WiFi.Unexpectedly good pool inside the hotel. Good kitchen: you can order breakfast and dinner, and food is tasty(especially seafood).5 min walk to the ocean beach. Lots of markets and cafes around hotel.15 min on richshaw to Jagannath temple.

This place really deserves four stars, its clean and the rooms are a good size but its checkout service needs work.You have to checkout at 9am - no exceptions.I was exhausted and getting up at 8am, when on holiday, is a touch irritating.I was one of only two guests in the hotel - giving me an extra 2hrs wouldve been no big whoop for them but meant the world to me.My train wasnt until 10.30pm so I had a lot of time to kill. I asked if I could hang about; they werent keen. I could sit on the chairs and use the restaurant but I could not use the pool or the WiFi. I felt the internet restriction was really churlish.I ended up hanging out in the Honey Bee Bakery pretty much all day, as at least I felt welcome there and not a burden.

Gorgeous, clean and efficient service oriented experience. Having started in Hotel Gandhara Puri, we quickly realized how spoiled we had become there, when we travelled to Bhubaneswar. We took several tours(Gandhara Travels), ate in the restaurants, and spent every available minute in the mind blowing pool - wow! Concierge desk, reliable airport transfers, and helpful staff at door to assist in street transportation made us feel completely at ease. My highest score possible in every category - and at a reasonable price.

Loved it!A warm, cozy place, with a touch of quaint, in the middle of an extremely crowded, touristy location in Puri. Far better than the others in that location. The staff & the manager are extremely hospitable. The massage guy is good.USPs if youre traveling with kids:1. Open spaces for children to run around2. Theres a kitchen you could walk right into & get the food customized as required. I had them make soup, boiled veggies etc for my boys3. Extremely hygienic both the food served & the place4. Swimming pool thats cleaned almost through the day even when nobody seems to be using it. We visited in winters / December else my boys would have loved lazing in the pool given the soaring temp levels of PuriA tank with Piranha & the friendly pet dog Limca also double up as other options that could keep children occupied.What could have been better:1. Room (43 / ground floor) was a little too congested for a family of 42. We were on a road trip from Hyderabad to Puri & ours is a Tata safari. With a better parking area, our experience could have been a tad better

This hotel is situated at C. T. Road of Puri. If you wish to avoid the crowd at Golden Beach and want to spend some days at peaceful environment, then this is the best place you can get at Puri. The beach here is very quiet in day time (we even found one woman in bikini!) and totally un-manned after 7:30 in evening. Just take an auto and spend some hours at Golden Beach in the evening.The location is great. All the staffs are quiet and hard-working. Online booking process is very easy. It took only five minutes to book a room. They have free wi-fi access. They have restaurant also. But we only tried the breakfasts here.
