Bhagwati temple is a very old temple in Goa. Its located at Pedne-Goa (Pernem). Its in the heart of Pedne city. Bhagwati is actually a Gram Daiwat of Pedne city. Many people believe her as their Kul-Devata. The temple is very huge and built in a Goan style. It has a very big hall, lobby and a open ground around it. Its almost 2 kms away from Mumbai-Goa highway and 5 kms away from Pedne railway station. There are shops near the mandir for the offerings and Pooja material. There are hotels nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Local buses and autorickshaws are available here to commute at various places like Mapuca, Panaji, Sawantwadi. There is very limited lodging facility if anyone wants to stay here. Its a very small town but well-known since the British/Portuguese era. One can find many signs of British and Portuguese architecture over here. There are many other temples, churches around here.

Earlier the temple was in bad shape. Now appearance and cleanliness of the temple is improving.

Its a simple , huge and beautiful Devi Bhagwati Parmeshwari temple surrounded by the busy streets of Pernem .In spite of the hustle bustle around you will find peace in the temple premises you will enjoy gazing at the colourful statues and paintings on the inside of the temple wall which tells about Devi Bhagwati Parmeshwari and other mythological characters .This temple is a blend of medieval Konkni and Portuguese style with two gigantic elephants at the main entrance which is my favourite part .
