Vijay is an amaxing teacher, I learn so much from this cours! All the others teachers are also very prefetional and we learnded so much. The philosophy and metrology were my favorits. If you want to deepen your knowledge in yoga and become a teacher this is the place!

This was the most magnificent TTC experience in india everyone such a great team and Vijay a great teacher & great personality I definitely felt comfortable to ask any questions also the living conditions were just excellent and the food great! I practiced yoga with Vijay in Goa and I was so impressed by his teaching that I followed him up to Dharamsala. After some time attending his classes I decided to do his teacher training course. The teacher training was Amazing and my friend and I, who did it together, both felt that Vijay shared all his knowledge, time and energy with us without reservation.The course was wonderful and I was given lots of opportunity to teach at the weekends during the couse and as soon as I finished the course I was ready to teach and felt very confident in my knowledge and teaching ability.Vijay is a great teacher and a very inspiring yogi with a beautiful and elegant yoga practice.

Highly recommend it! Great adjustments and you get a lot of attention. Located on a chill rooftop. 2019 Ashtanga starts at 8.15 and Hatha at 08.30. Afternoon classes as well.

I feel lucky that Vijay has traveled all the way from India giving me and others who have never been able to go to India an opportunity to study with him. His knowledge on this practice is vast and you always leave class knowing something you didnt know coming in. I highly recommend studying with him if you have the opportunity, especially if youre wanting to deepen your yoga practice and knowledge!

Good teachers, professional staff

I did my 200 h teacher training in 2017. I cannot recommend the school for several reasons. maybe I just had bad luck as 3 days after I started 2 very good teachers left, because Vijay (the owner) strangled one of them (grabbed him by the throat, 4 other people cam to help) This great teacher then left with his girlfriend who was also teaching at the time. Vijay then taught almost all classes, and most of this time was lost time for me as I didnt understand him well (both linguistically and in relation to content) and I never received meaningful answers to my questions. Organization of the whole course was a desaster. The daily classes plan served nothing as everything was changed all the time. It was not clear if we will ever have anatomy classes, our philosophy teacher changed 3 times. The owner represented - to me - the opposite of what is yoga (see Yamas and Niyamas for example), he is very sexist (touching girls ass all the time, asking one student if she would shower in his place and more), aggressive (he really slapped one of the students, I couldnt believe it, he threatened his teacher, was were rude when touching students), greedy (he doesnt pay some of his teachers, he expects all people around him to serve his interests for free)no truthfulness (lying almost every day), respect (he didnt show up to the early morning Pranayama classes at 5.30 having the whole course sit and wait, maybe I learned a lot because of what I do NOT want to be this way, but I was in tears quite often during the month and wished I had studied in a more professional school, maybe things are better if you do not have classes with Vijay, but anyways I would recommend paying a bit more and go to a serious school

Namaste everbody,I did my TTC 200 hours Hatha yoga here in this school in Feb 2018. If you are looking for a spiritual yoga experience I cannot recommand this school. All in all I enjoyed my time here as I met great people. The practise with praba and amudan ( wrong spelling, I know) was really great. We had some organisation problems during the course as we didnt have proper anatomy classes and the communication with the organiseres was really hard at times. If you are coming for drop in classes it is an amazing place to practise. Beautiful roof top location, very close to the beach. When considering doing a TTC here you should know that arambol beach is a very busy place to be in. The beach is full of poeple, its noisy day and night and its a well-known party place in goa. I would have choosen a more quiet place for my ttc if it wasnt my first time in india.All the best :)

I have not had the opportunity to train with Vijay in India but we are fortunate to have him visiting us here in Lompoc, California. He is an amazing teacher with an unsurpassed knowledge of ashtanga yoga. Working with him is truly amazing. Highly recommended!

I had the opportunity to do the TTC here in Jan 2017 and Im so grateful for it. Vijay and his team have a strong message to teach, I still miss the practice with him, Aravind and Sandy. The assistants give amazing adjustments. It is a serious and autenthic School I will suggest to everyone. I have also been back to Vijay in Dharamsala as well and I cant wait to have time to meet him and his team again!Dont hesitate and go practise there! :-)

I love uniersal yoga center. Vijay is an awesome teacher.You can practice strongly deeply and get a lot of ajastment in class.And also evening hata class with Aravind is nice.They are amazing and so professional.

After an intensive month of teacher training at the Universal Yoga Centre in Dharamsala, I would highly recommend learning yoga with UYC. Vijay and Aravind are excellent teachers and provide a professional, friendly and encouraging environment in which to learn yoga. The YTT-200 course is well structured with a good balance of theory and practice. Morning pranayama and ashtanga classes bring an invigorating start to the day, followed by insightful theoretical classes and self-study time early afternoon. The special classes are particularly challenging, with practice focusing on back bending, hip openings, transitions and inverted postures. The day often winds down with hatha class and chanting, providing relaxation and calm into the early evening. The assistant team are very helpful and give great adjustments to correct alignment and deep into the postures. Overall the teacher training helped to strengthen my practice and I’m extremely grateful to Vijay, Aravind and the assistant team for sharing their skills with me. UYC provides a great combination of beautiful locations, excellent teaching and the opportunity to meet and learn with other dedicated and friendly fellow yogis. UYC is an excellent yoga school and their teacher training course is well worth all the challenges it brings.
