Awesome locality. Stay out of the world inside the estate. Very friendly staffs. You can have a great walk inside the estate. Bbq and camp fire available on request. Beware of leaches.. Food is very costly. Plan accordingly

Good place to enjoy with friends and family.Food was okay.Note: Be extra careful when taking kids to such hoemstay ,we were able to see snake in the dining area ,centipede on the bed where me and my baby was sleeping and frog in the bathroom.

Amberina is many nice things. A classic planters bungalow in the folds of a tea estate. A quite, easy and lazy place with a pool. A well curated garden cottage with pretty colourful flowers.The cuisine is a clean, tasty and healthy mix of meat, vegetables and carbohydrates. One senses distinct Malabari influence given Devalas proximity to North Kerala. In between meals, you can laze, swim or walk around. The chirpy garden will keep birders happy. Light play in the verendah/lounge is a photographers delight.The staff are friendly, keep the place tidy and clean, and generally leave you alone.Make your bookings, and while there try and read about Devalas history of gold mining and its geography as South Indias Cheerapunji. And about Gudalurs other designation as the Nilgiri Wayanad.Amberina is a lifestyle, not a busy pandering property. Do everyone a favour- dont go expecting or demanding a hotel and resort type atmosphere and service.

One of the best home stays we have ever been. Tucked in a beautiful coffee estate, this place is amazing. There is a swimming pool with flowing water from the forest. This is near the elephant corridor and wild elephants come by the pool at night. The whole place has the rustic charm. The food is ammmaaaaazing! Try to take the whole place to yourselves. The caretakers are so friendly and we get to hear all the stories about elephants and the wild animals around. Very kid friendly and its such beautiful place to just relax and have a quality time with family and friends. You can go around for the small treks but they insist that you always go with one of the staff since there is presence of the wild animals. This is an awesome place. Must visit! Cant wait to come back again!!

Weather awesome even during peak summer, Can spot Peacocks2) The manager Vinod is Very Helpful Very Good Service by Babu3 Cetain things to improve, 1) cost of food is definitely Expensive , tasty though4 Theres a problem of frequent power cuts, the owners need to address theseOtherwise we had a Very Good time. A Mind blowing place to stay with family.We were a group of 13ppl and it was enjoyment to the core..A separate swimming and scenic locality.Food and Hospitality was too good..Manager Babu was very friendly and helpful throughout the stay..Must Visit Place..

Loved the place. Quiet and serene. There was a nice aroma around the place which made the stay more pleasant.It is more than 100 years old estate built during British era.There are 4 bedrooms with attached bathrooms(with bathtubs). Plenty of space to walk around and if you are lucky you may see a leopard or a pair of peacocks roaming around.Food is good but the prices are on the higher side. You need to plan and order in advance for the food.Enjoy!

An enjoyable and utterly delightful stay at Amberina. The entire place and the rooms imbibe a unique old world charm that is appealing to the senses. Waking up to bird and animal calls. Peacock calls. Reading under a canopy of lush greenery. The food was amazing and the service warm and welcoming. A charming pool to relax. Strolling on the hill side with curious and interesting curves and bends, ups and down, amidst a lovely tea estate. Perfectly pleasant weather on the cooler side even in April.

Amazing place for away from the hustles of daily life. British era bungalow divided into 3 double occupancy room amidst 100 acres of tea plantation. Leisure at its best. Very courteous staff and fresh home made food make it a must stay. The location is amazing to say the least.

Calm, peaceful and Natural Place to get rid of usual works. They use natural water for pool. We stay with our toddler, he enjoyed very well. We enjoyed every moment spent there.

This is one of those places that will urge you to relax. More than having places to see around it, you would pretty much try to absorb in everything that is built around this rustic countryside.Great host, great food and perfect setting for a weekend getaway. Nothing more to ask for !
