If you are visiting boat house dont forget to visit this thread garden, really this is great work we can see so many hand made flowers which looks like real flowers made with thread but when I visited they didnt allowed cameras nd mobile cameras dont know why but any way we enjoyed we had very different experience

We are going in December 2018. This small place was fantastic. What skill! The flowers look real. Really amazing to see the display.Each flower, stem and grass in this garden is made by hand weaving silk threads on canvas or frames. Many of the flowers are so realistic that from a slight distance it’s impossible to find out that’s artificial!

This is located just opposite the lake. They have created an entire small forest ecosystem using just threads on canvas. You will find various types of plants and bushes which look extremely realistic and made just with thread.There is also a sales counter from where you can buy these flowers and plants made from thread or you can just touch and feel the demo pieces kept to feel the work. All in all it is a pretty amazing place to see what wonders can be made just with threads.

Wonderful exhibition of an amazing feat. It took 12 years for 26 people to make all of this by hand. No machines were used. The flowers and other exhibits look great.

This place is a waste of time! Its amazing what work they have done there. But you just walk through a corridor and there are things made up of thread all over. You dont see anything from close. Its a recently made private place, nothing great about it. Great work by the people who have made it though!

It’s a very small place. 15-20 mins view. You may directly walk-in after Ooty lake view and boat ride. You don’t need to move the vehicle from lake parking. 12 years of hard work is clearly seen. You will be amazed for sure !!

One of those rare instances of human persistence, devotion and painstaking labor. This is a hidden gem in Ooty and I definitely recommend checking this place out and definitely help spread the word. It goes on to show how if someone puts all of his energy and time into doing something, chances are that person will accomplish it and with great results. The detail with thread and the overall thread work will leave anyone amazed and stunned with awe.

This is an artificial garden which have various types of flowers and plants made of thread. These skillfully hand-made flowers look like real once. Tremendous efforts are taken by artist for this.Its actually an excellent piece of artwork, however some people, specially youngsters will find it boring and not worth watching for the entry fee they pay for.But frankly, the entry fees is not much as that much is must for the artist to survive. So its okay to go n watch.

Thread Garden... first thread garden in the world was promoted by Antony Joseph.... Every flower and plant are made by threads. Which look very beautiful and attractive.Besides this a live plant nursery of ornaments are present...which is beautiful that we feel satisfy the investment of 20 rupees as entering fee.When you visit Ooty you must visit it, it is almost 1.3km away from Ooty bus or railway station (in front of boat house)

Dam..Those flowers are awesome. Dont how they made it.. but they r cool.. they said, they created all those thread flowers are made by 10000 sq feet threads in 12yrs. Those who created this are Super cool. A difficult work to do this..Superb..

Thread garden is right opposite to Ooty lake and is unique in concept, but the beauty of the work is lost due to poor maintenance. The effort made by the people behind it is definitely commendable but failure on the part of the authorities to maintain cleanliness and proper lighting mars the entire experience.

Thread garden is situated just opposite of Ooty Lake & is a small shed like place, however, the importance of this place / or USP of this place is it is made by around 50 girls for over a period of 12 years with around 70 million metre thread all in a continuous shape of threads & grass. For the lover of art & nature, it is a must watch. Just opposite they also have a small flower garden to see.

Complete garden made with theards. 6crores of theads. Complete hand work including some painting inside. We can buy pieces of flowers but it is little costly. Work is really awesome.

Amazing work Worth the time and money

Great art work done by our sisters. The flowers are the exact replica of the natural flowers. I cannot imagine the time and efforts taken by them to finish their work of art. A must visit place in Ooty.

This place is a mind boggling piece of art. I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of effort that must have been invested in it. The presentation can be a lot better to complement the amount of detail put into the display pieces. Still, at the cheap entrance price, I cant really complain.

Nice place to enjoy the thread art where artificial flowers , creepers were made using different shades of thread.It is made so near to perfection that flowers seems real.A volunteer gives a brief introduction about the art.Entry ticket is INR 20 for adults , also charges for clicking photos through mobile camera apply.Samples of the thread art were shown at the exit.You can also by these arts where the starting price is INR 700 If you wish too.

This is the most important thing to visit. Master piece for thread and embroidery design making. This place has created many record such as limca book of record, Asian book of record. This took 12 years to complete.

We should support such innovative work. But the entrance fee is not worthy. The place is dark to see details. Also buying is costly.

The constrained space did not do justice to the amount of time and labour involved in creating it. It would have been great to see the flowers in a bigger, landscaped area where people could walk about and appreciate it. Better lighting would be a big plus. Also, it would have been nice to have a variety of products at the sales counter. It would make for a great memento, though not sure how financially viable it is

Long standing wish to see this place came true. I would call this place India s pride.Though the flowers are handmade using silk thread - so the name thread garden. The flowers look close to natural foowers.

The entry should have been free, as there was nothing much to see.

It is one of the underrated places in Ooty - showcasing flowers which are actually made up of threads and wood. The use of thread is so creatively done that one cannot distinguish it from a real flower.It is located just opposite the Ooty Lake and can be covered in 10-15 minutes (as it has just a small place). A good place to bring kids and showcase them this creativity. It is said that it is only one such unique exhibition/museum in the whole world.One thing I disliked was the separate charges for entry and photography. They should have allowed some mobile photography, to be included in the main ticket charges.

All the flowers and plants in this artificial garden is hand woven with threads.They look like real life things.The owner has a Guinness World Record.A definitely place to visit if your going to the Boat House along with women esp older women.It is right opposite Boat House.The place could be well lit with much more powerful lighting.

Walk through passage of around 25 meters ..Wasnt as exciting as expected.

You can definitely appreciate the art(no needles used) but you can cover the place in 10-15mintues max. Its a silk thread garden. The flowers and plants look very realistic. At the end you can buy some show pieces made from the same technique but they cost about 700/- minimum.

I loved how creatively the small place was decorated. The most amazing part is its an artificial flower garden, but its so beautiful that you cant even tell the difference. Its only 15-20minutes tour through the garden. You can see a lots of varieties of flowers.

It is a place where the items in the display from plants to flowers, house to bridge everything is made up of thread. There will be a introduction scessions when u enter the place. Entry ticked 20 rupees for adults. Camera entry fee is 20 rupees. Its not very special when u see it from distance but at last there will be a store where we can feel them by our touch. They are made by a group of people for few months to build up this entire project in which no needle is used for preparing these items. It is very appreciable for their hard work but not a huge recomendation.

If you are in ooty you must not leave this place unattended. It is already in Limca book of records because of extensive and marvellous state of the art work. It took more than a decade to built this place. And you will Hardly miss any flora who has got missed out from its depictions. The entire garden is built using thread and the colors are as like as they exist in the nature. Minimal entry ticket and closes by 6 so make it in early hours. Just opposite boat house is there where you can enjoy boating in the serene valley.
