Ever since discovering this restaurant 2 weeks ago, we came 4 times. I don’t easily return to a restaurant and in fact I was disappointed by most Indian restaurants and by most restaurants in New York. This place is terrific and totally worth the money. No it’s not even close to my apartment but I’m willing to walk >20mins to come here. The service from the two waitresses and waiter is also impeccable. They remember us and they are very kind. Here’s my review of their other restaurant in upper east side— same quality here.I have eaten in hundreds of Indian restaurants (including a dozen in India). This is a humble place that does the job very well unlike the many fancier places that don’t see to know the basics. This city is so much pomp and circumstance that belies an absolute lack of taste and refinement. But I digress. it’s clear that the owner and the team care about the customers and want them to be happy.Recommended dishes: navrattan korma, Kashmiri rice, mughlai fish, Goan shrimp/fish.

Excellent service, fresh meal at an affordable price. Come during their lunch special (11am - 2:30pm) to get half off ALL food! The atmosphere is casual but inviting, with fun Bollywood music calmly in the background. The tables and decorations are beautiful and functional as well. The staff greeted us well, was patient with our large group (12) and even gave small keychain keepsakes. The owner personally asked us about the food and spice level, and even told us jokes.

The food was okay, not very spicy at all. The portions are small. One order of naan was one piece of naan cut into four pieces. Had to pay for another order for more naan. The water had some floaties in it, not sure what that was about. Our leftover food two of which were sauces, was packaged in white paper takeout containers.

One of the most fantastic experiences of living in New York City is the opportunity to taste authentic and yummy Indian food.Mughlai is a hidden gem in Kips Bay.One of the most delicious and affordable Indian food in Manhattan. As soon as you walk in, you will notice the warm and welcoming atmosphere. They will make you feel at home! They have the best samosa and best Naan in the city. Plus, they have authentic and delicious Goa dishes, which I think are their best offerings: Goa Shrimp, or Goa Fish Curry (dairy-free), it has the right amount of coconut to make you think you are in a tropical beach, even on the coldest winter NYC night. Also, they have my favourite rice, “Kashmiri Pulao,” it is TOO delicious!Plus, they have a great selection of beers, and an unbeatable lunch special that everything on the menu is 50% off.I know we are all trying to find new and great places,so I hope this is helpful! They have another location on the Upper East Side as well.

I can not believe, for the number of times weve been here, that I never had the vindaloo. Only defense, weve only gone for lunch and I will usually order vindaloo for dinner. At any rate, the goat vindaloo is transcendent. Seriously fantastic.Okay - hands down, the spinach soup is the best Indian soup Ive ever had. We only went for lunch, when everything is 50% off. But, after our first visit, we went back every single day during our visit for more spinach soup! If it is important to you, they have many vegan items, including the spinach soup. The waitstaff here is super friendly and accommodating - they really went out of their way to make us feel at home. Theyre very attentive and almost everyone would come by to say hello to my daughter after our first visit. Everything is made fresh, so the wait time for food is a little longer than at some places, but the wait is worth it!Over the course of our visits we had several appetizers - Vegetable Samosa, Fish Mughlai, Chicken Tikka and the Aloo Papri Chaat. The Samosa was pretty standard for a mid-range Indian restaurant. The Fish Mughlai and Chicken Tikka were small but extremely good - definitely better than my expectation. The Aloo Papri Chaat was a new dish for me - it was superb. We also had the plain Naan, the Keema Naan and the Poori. I had no complaints about any of the breads. They were all good and met my expectations. If that sounds like a lukewarm endorsement, I should say that I feel like Naan is something you either get right, or you dont. Ive never had Naan that I thought was better than anywhere else - it is either delicious or close to inedible.I hope that in our next visit to the city that well be able to visit for dinner!

A superb place for anyone who enjoy the spicier side of cuisine. You can enjoy a variety of meal suitable for every diet. They offer great Chicken Malai Kebab, Boti Kebab (lamb), and Fish Mughlai. If you’re a vegan or vegetarian, then enjoy the Aloo Papri Chaat. I’ll hide its ingredients for your surprise. As always – the staff was fast and polite, and they seem to be handling the take-outs with ease.Mughlai Indian Cuisine is located at 329 Third Avenue in Manhattan. This is a small restaurant where you can taste traditional Indian kitchen. The delicacies you can get are not expensive. The restaurant had a special offer-a 50% discount on the lunch menu. The best meals are Lamb Budja (remember it is very hot), Navratan Korma and Biryani Chicken. This place is suitable for a quiet family dinner. Indian food is delicious. Spices give it a rich flavor, so it is popular all over the world. Im sure that there is no town in the world that has no place to grab part of it. The best Indian restaurants in Manhattan offer delicious cuisine and have the opportunity to stay connected with their respective cultures through food. Be sure to visit them!

Ordered delivery and loved it every time! Muglai special curry is sweet and spicy—not too spicy. Josh Rogen dishes are delicious—bit more of a flavor than others. Goat curry is great but there is not much meat which might be just how the dish is. Chicken Chettinad was yummy. Aloo gobi (my go to dish) was okay.WE LOVE that we can order a side of dish of the onion relish! I’ve never seen that anywhere! And our little one loved the fried cauliflower appetizer. Muglai fish curry: salmon was dry. Disappointed by butter chicken; the sauce was too tomato-y for me. Watch out for the vindaloo dishes! I can handle spices, but it was pure fire! MUGHLAI has been our quarantine order-in staple—the delivery is free (to our location) and super speedy and the food comes piping hot. Their dishes are boldly aromatic and the ingredients are deftly handled. Vegetables are never overcooked—say goodbye to brownish spinach and say hello to bright green leaves in the Dall Saag, which is mild on spice but delicious and comforting. It’s a nice balance to dishes like Kadai chicken or lamb, which packs a serious spicy punch without overwhelming our (arguably wimpy) tastebuds. Highly recommend ordering the raita no matter what. It goes well with everything and if you have extra is great mixed with sliced cucumber the next day. All the dishes are generously portioned plus tons of rice and make for great leftovers. MUGHLAI never leaves us wanting. The Onion Kulcha, Keema Naan and Peshwari Naan are our favorite breads thus far. Tonight we tried the Adraki Chaap rack of lamb and loved it. The mango chutney is delicious and would go super well on a cheese platter. We have tried ordering from other restaurants during nyc’s lockdown, but this is the only one where we’ve come back for seconds. Tonight was actually our fourth time ordering from MUGHLAI. Even with contactless delivery you still feel a personal connection through this food. Tonight they even added some rice pudding to our order with “from our house” written on the lid. Can’t wait to go to the restaurant and thank the chef in person when the city opens up again.

Horrendous! Despite there being 5 open tables, the hostess shoved us into a 2 person table that we couldn’t even get into because it was blocked by a kid’s scooter on one side and a suitcase on the other side. We asked politely if we could sit in a nice table by the window that we could actually get into and was flat out refused, saying it was “Friday night.” We spent the next hour having our wine spilled by the kid with the scooter banging in to our table and having the guy with the suitcase shove chicken into his mouth with his hands. The next two couples in the door were seated at the nice tables next to the windows and seemed to have a nice night. When we inquired with the hostess, she actually huffed out loud and stamped off-like how dare we say something?!? We were repeat customers, but we will NEVER go back. Incidentally, when we left half the tables were empty! Apparently they are not making ends meet because of their seating arrangements, but rather because of the way they treat their “customers.”
