A very very soothing, quiet, artistic and aesthetic place to visit with a small, close-knit group of friends, on days you wish to be away from the city hustle. Its has three well-made floors full of art pieces, with beautiful descriptions for every piece of work. Itll be nearly a two hour walk if you give enough time to each piece on all floors and want to absorb the vibe of it. I appreciate they allow the visitors to click photographs on their mobile phones for the memories.

National gallery of modern art situated in central delhi at a very prime location. The entry fee for Indian national is around 20rs.The gallery is very big and consists of notable painter. At first you will get in love with the place asIt described the modern art and culture. The place it self tells a story about the thing which happened in 19 century.Timing for the place is very strict as if you are planning to go their expect at least 3-4 hours minimum to understand all the painting.Overall this place is not so famous but its a hidden gem of delhi.I would recommend must visit to this place.

One of those places in Delhi which are hiding in plain sight. The place is right around the India Gate region. The gallery is spread across few floors which means one should start early to enjoy all that the gallery has to showcase. Youll find pieces featuring most of the prominent artists. Arts from a few centuries back also shine in this art museum. The museum also features new contemporary pieces. Make sure you visit the whole complex its is not just one building.

Some paintings have real ingenuity and lovely colourful combinations.i simply don’t understand y Rabindranath tagore’s useless paintings and sketches are still here. He doesnt seem much of an artist. Also not much in terms of modern art. Its mostly paintings. Worth spending half hour on every floor.

Such a place to be. Such a great infrastructure and the Curator of the museum I must say did a great job for creating this. There is no entry fee when I went yesterday. But the employees are a bit nosy and uptight about how to take a picture or videos of not. But I cant complain because its their work and they would have strict rules about that so its fine.Nice place to visit.Love to go there again.P. S. I the waid I say e-bicycle and scooter which you can rent. So its easy to go around that area. Nice initiative. 👍👍😊

Beware of the lady at the ticket counter. She will try to keep you in conversation with her so that you forget how much you actually paid. Two of us went to this gallery one fine day. I had put out a 100 Rs note to pay at the counter. I gave it to her. Long story short, she tried to trick us into believing that wed paid with a 50 Rs note. After bickering for 5-7 minutes, another member of staff was called and she was helpful enough to believe us. A bad start to a beautiful day. Overall a good experience except for the ticket counter lady. 4/5

The gallery is spacious, pleasantly air conditioned, and has a very relaxed atmosphere. Of the many flagship MoMA galleries I’ve visited around the world this one stands out primarily for one reason. Its artworks are the most accessible I’ve seen. This absence of roped-off areas distancing the viewer from its masterpieces brings with it a genuinely rewarding perspective. The galleries 4 floors chart a chronology of Indian creative endeavour from the beginning of the colonial era, through Independence, to the 21st century. Here you will find some of India’s giants and discover others you never heard of.Thoroughly engaging and memorable. No visit to Delhi is complete without a day here

My favourites are by Amrita Shergill and Abanindranath Tagore. The place offers curated walks by the professional curators at 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Little confusing at first. Their new wing is located somewhere in the middle of the campus. The campus is lovely. Lovely garden, very well maintained. The area is clean and very inviting. The museum wing has very interesting architecture. Theres a gift shop in the lobby. The gifts are moderately priced although the large prints are of poor quality and the medium sized print sets have a unappealing selection of paintings of the artists. The building is wheelchair accessible throughout. The paintings are well lit, although in some places the light relflects off the glass on the frame, and you can barely see the painting. The gallery is very roomy, easily navigable. Doesnt naturally guide the viewer though- I kept having to backtrack. The ambience of the museum feels very modern. Very on brand.Reminder: photos are allowed in the museum area but selfies arent. Thank god for that. Also we met the most wonderful cat at the gate. 10/10 will come back for him.
