Amazing place to visit. One of the best place to visit with friends and family. You can easily spend 2-3 hours. The zoo is very neat and clean. Maximum animals are here in this zoo. Beautiful Birds, Leopard, Tiger, Lion, Bear, Elephants , African Elephants, Chimpanzee , Giraffe, Anaconda, Python, Deers, Black Bug, Hippos, Snake, Wolfs etc are there. It will take 2 hours by foot they also have battery operated car with can accommodate 10-12 persons at a time. There is small gift shop inside zoo. Best place to spend your weekend. Very peaceful atmosphere. A very nice well maintained zoo. Best place for children. You have to walk or move with a battery car almost 3 kilometers. The best part of this zoo is it is one way means you have to enter the zoo and move in straight the animals are kept left and right side of the road. The ticket price is 60 per person.
Best zoo. Well maintained and all locations are easily identified. Drinking water, toilet, baby room and other facilities are available. Need to walk 3 kms for full visit. Will get tired at the ending. You get battery operated vehicles for cost. Will find more rare spices. White tiger, Rhino are all the favourites.Fees Rs.100 per person. Time 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Parking will be on opposite side of park.
One of the best zoo in India. Lots of animals. The zoo is very clean. The entry fee will be ₹50 and if you need to take camera a fee ₹50 also need to pay. There are two options for to see the zoo, you can walk around or you can take battery car. If you walk around 3.8 km walking distance is from entry to exit.
A very well maintained, very big zoo. You have almost everything here to see which you can see any of the zoos in India. You will need atleast half day to cover the complete zoo, so plan your trip accordingly. You can cover the entire zoo by walk, but theres inside transport facility to take you everywhere in the zoo. Add this place to your list if you are planning your trip to Mysore.
Its is one the biggest zoo I have seen. Compared to zoo from Kerala its quite bigger and have different types of animals. It is one of the best place to bring young kids. Zoo are properly cleaned they have entry pass tickets here. There is someplace where you could relax. I really dont agree with this caging system because I believe everything born here with freedom .
Very beautifully built zoo, The nature inside is too good. There are every kind of animals that you know from all around the globe, from big cats to birds, water predators and land giants. The zoo is very crowded in weekends. Prefer to visit the zoo either in the morning or evening, since the animals are more active and you can enjoy their actions. The zoo has a very beautiful garden in which many varieties of plants and trees are present. The zoo also has food corner where you can get refreshments.People who are interested in adoption of animals and taking care of their well being are welcomed here. The zoo is very well connected with public transport so there is no problem of transportation.
Wonderful experience...3kms round walk. Atleast need 4-5 hours to see the zoo completely. Dont miss if you are visiting Mysore.
Mysore Zoo is very good to see for kids, well maintained. it will take almost 2-3 hours to cover the entire place 10KM. Restaurants and souvenirs shops inside. Electric vehicle is there to cover the place which needs to be booked and there are timings for the same

Its a clean and very tidy experience. A lot of animals to watch and learn about. But still dont condone the idea of putting them there. They, hopefully are taken care of very well.
Very big zoo almost 5 km walkin with many animals and birds. You need at least 2-3 hours to enjoy and explore full zoo. And dont miss to carry your camera. It charge ₹80 on weekend and ₹60 on week days. online booking is also available but not required, you can easily get tickets. For take the full utilization of zoo you have to take care of few things:1.do not take your luggage inside the zoo area. You can put luggage to clock room.2. Plastic food rapper not allowed inside the zoo .3.Electric vehicle are not helpful here..they stop only 3 times in specific place in 1hr trip and charge Rs.140 approx per head and In walkin you enjoy a lot more.4.They have drinking (RO)water facility and benches to sit at small regular intervals. So, you can rest whenever you feel.5.Vehicle on demand inside zoo is available on some particular time only. So if you are going with old parents then make you contact the zoo people for vehicle timing and entry accordingly.6.Food: There is nice restaurant area with many options at reasonable price7.Animals: you will find most of the Indian animals, mostly herbivores. Of course the great Bengal tiger and the majestic lions. The journey starts with birds, monkeys and reptiles. The gorillas were a great attraction which are no more but you can find species of monkeys. The elephants and giraffes are still a favourite for children.well maintained place with good staff and good environment!!

Its very big and very nice
Best zoo I have ever seen in india.. can’t imagine they are maintaining in high standards.. mostly all animals, birds., reptiles available... for kids it is the best place to show the nature .. defiantly u will enjoy..
Easily the best zoo in Karnataka state. So much better than the zoo at Bannerghatta national park in Bangalore.Well maintained zoo with a well laid out park plan. Has a host of animals ranging from the big cats to the deers and black bucks to the giraffes. Also has a lake adjoining where the option for boat riding is provided. ( The zoo provided 2 types of tickets - zoo+lake boat riding or just the zoo )Also, a really good initiative undertaken by the zoo is the strict no plastic litter rule.A visit to the Mysore zoo is highly recommended.
Terrific greenery and well maintained
A must visit when in Mysore. Lots of animals to see! The zoo is well maintained with free drinking water in many places. Lots of toilets as well. We went on a Saturday, surprisingly not too crowded. We spent a good 5 hours, including time for a good value lunch, and reading posted descriptions of animals...let your curiosity take you to greater heights of wonderment viewing awesome creatures!
Very very well maintained and really amazing animals! Check pics. Totally worth it!
Good
A very well maintained zoo... We can have a better experience if we are provided with bicycle.. you also have a facility to adapt animals for a certain period of time
✌️✌️Good place...too good maintenance..

Mysore Zoo (Now Mysuru Zoo) (officially the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens) is a 157-acre (64 ha) zoo located near the palace in Mysore , India. It is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in India and is home to a wide range of species (168). Mysore Zoo is one of the city’s most popular attractions. While mainly depending on entry fees for its financing, an adoption scheme introduced in the early 2000s has been a success. Celebrities, institutions, animal lovers and Volunteers of various clubs in the zoo have contributed directly to the welfare of the zoo inmates.
One of the best and biggest zoological gardens in India. It is exceptionally well maintained and very clean. The enclosures are good and the animals are well fed and taken good care of. They have a great scheme where one can adopt animals. Please visit this zoo if you are in Mysore and it takes around three to four hours to complete the tour of the zoo.
I really loved roaming around, its basically famous for birds. You will get to see some of the most amazing and beautiful birds. They have got lot of other animals as well, from large cats to beautiful snakes. Do visit the place.
Animals and there habitat is observed
Big zoo and also very good.
One of the best Managed Zoo across India. Variety of Flora and Fauna is a treasure for visitors. Its a Plastic free zone. Staff is polite, dedicated and vigilant. Its a long Pathway to cover full Zoo so take time to explore every corner. Battery operated vehicle tour is like a boon for Senior citizens and people who cant afford to walk much.Must try while in Mysore. Once again two thumbs Up to Zoo administration.
Love this ❤️ place 😍
Best #zoo in India.. The flora and fauna what you get to see here is very good than other zoo s in the country... I loved Giraffe its spectacular...Zerbra is present too... All the #birds many of them around the world are there....Lions and Bengal Tiger was simply outstanding...Please carry water bottles...Awesome experience...Kids will enjoy this definitely....
Whoa. Such a huge zoo this one is. Well maintained, hygienic and good info about the wild life there is provided on the placards/boards outside the cages. Some fun quizzes about wild life also present on display. Would suggest that one avoid visiting at noon cause a few animals wouldve retreated deep into the cages and you wouldnt get to see them.Water and washroom facilities are present at every km distance. Shade and place to sit is available. The food court is decent.Such a fun visit! Loved it.
One of the best maintained zoological gardens I have seen in India. The exhibits are housed in spacious enclosures that dont make them feel like prisoners. One can get a view of diverse fauna from many regions (Equatorial countries) all over the world. While it is a long walk through the garden, there is also a battery operated vehicle service for those who need it. But I strongly recommend walking through the zoo to make the most of it (unless you are in a hurry). There are ample resting places in between. The zoo is a plastic free zone. Free water fountains are there at regular intervals. They also have baby care rooms to feed and change infants. We had a great time.
Nice place to visit, so many animals . approximately 3-4 hours walking is needed to finish the place, it was not so crowded when i visit 3 times. just walk around have a nice time with friends or family. parking available near to the entrance. entry fee and visiting hours check with website. 50 was the entry fee per head. for camera extra need to pay.
Its a big zoo. You can get motor vehicle ride inside the zoo. You need minimum 3 hours to completely see the zoo. They do not allow any plastic items inside the zoo, not even candies wrapped in plastic paper. They are providing drinking water facility through out the zoo. The entry free is different for weekend holiday and other days. Restrooms are also kept clean.
One of the well maintained zoo.
Its an amazing place for kids. Ofcourse everyone can enjoy here. There are lot many wild animals are there and also maintenance is simply superb. Visited more than 2 times along with friends and their families but never disappointed my kids and all. When ever will visit mysore will plan to visit this place.
Its a good zoo. Try to avoid on weekends as they have high entry fees and also very crowded. Also avoid in summers as most of the animals will be inside. Zebra, giraffe, chimpanzee these are star attractions. You can also adopt animals here. Management is good, you will get drinking water multiple places and also to sit. 3-4 hours approx it will take to cover all. Battery operated vehicles also available.
Every animal is here .
The best zoo I have ever visited I travel around the world and visit 100s of places. This zoo is the best zoo in the world around I have visited. This zoo deserves more than 5 star rating. Highly recommend to visit
The zoo witnessed a series of animal deaths in 2004 and 2005. In August 2004, a Lion-tailed macaque was found mysteriously dead.[11] An emu and a tiger were also reported to have died mysteriously. On 4 September 2004, an elephant died, reportedly of acute hemorrhagic enteritis and respiratory distress. It was reported that the illness in elephants was due to poisoning. As a safety measure, the zoo authority suspended several staff members who were allegedly responsible for the gruesome killings. Laboratory tests later confirmed that the two elephants, named Ganesha and Roopa, had been poisoned.[12] This was followed by another elephant death (Komala) on 7 September despite heightened security. Komala had been scheduled to be transferred to Armenia in about a month.[13]On 24 October 2005 another elephant, Rohan along with his mate Ansul, died with suspicions of poisoning. The elephants were supposed to be sent to Armenia as a goodwill gesture. The Chief Minister of Karnataka immediately ordered a probe into the death of Ansul and Rohan.4 January 2017, The zoo announced that it was hit by avian influenza. Lab reports confirmed that six free-ranging and migratory birds died due to avian influenza (H5N8) in late December. The monthlong closure is the longest for the 124-year-old Mysore Zoo
Wonderfull place. Come with children they will surely enjoy the most. Different different animals, birds, reptiles are there. Well marked and sign board are there. You will enjoy self-guided tour. Place is maintained neat and clean. Provision for washroom, drinking water are there at certain distance. Sitting place are provided for take rest in between your journey. Battery operated vehicle also available for complete your. Of course certain facility come with premium price. But its worth. I love the place very much.
One of the best managed zoo across india. Variety of flora and fauna is a treasure for visitors its a plastic free zone staff is polite dedicated. Its a long pathway to cover full zoo so take time to cover every corner. So dont waste time visit once
Took my family including a 4-year old. Mysore zoo is one of the best and largest zoos in South India. I booked tickets online, which makes entrance hassle free. For people with kids and elders, there are buggies that take you around the 3.7km path. Charges vary between weekend and weekdays, with differential rate for adults, kids, children below 5 and senior citizens.
South indias BIG ZOO
Mysore zoo was started in the year 1892 , landscaped in the year 1909. Started with 10acres and grew to 45 acres and again grew to 78 acres. A well planned zoo which has chimpanzee , giraffe , antelopes , bears , different kinds of birds , tiger , lion etc. It is always covered by greenery and it is pleasant to enter the campus throughout the year.
#A very attractive place for kids. If you are planning for a trip with your family, you will definitely love this place. A large variety of animals, especially Anaconda is the most attractive one, in birds it is the great Horn Bill. You can also see the large variety of trees and plants.
A very well maintained zoo... We can have a better experience if we are provided with bicycle.. you also have a facility to adapt animals for a certain period of time
Very good and big Zoo. Requires more time to cover all. Plastic items are strictly not allowed. Facilities like food and drinking water is maintained well. Entry fee on weekdays and weekend is different.
Its a awesome place to visit in mysuru. A great place with a nice atmosphere... There r many animals to see . Mind blowing birds to see . A great place to enjoy during holidays. The entrance fee is also nominal . No eatables r allowed inside . U need to get a water bottle ticket if u are using it inside . I will visit this place regularly . Hope u will also feel great while visiting there .....
A well maintained zoo with many resting places. Free drinking water here kept me away from being tired. Its a nice tree covered zoo (almost everywhere) if you want to get the feeling of nature. Had a lot of fun here!
The best Zoo in class, they are maintaining well and good. Plastics and pan/gudka are banned inside the Zoo so it is very neat and clean.Very crowdy place in weekends and Tuesday is holiday for the Zoo. There is battery operated vehicle is available on cost. But i prefer to walk around the zoo because they wont allow you spent much time inside. If you are in hurry choose the vehicle, its around 2.4km walk inside the Zoo. There are cafe and eateries available inside Zoo.
Many different species of animals, birds and reptiles are there in this zoo. U can also adopt them (i.e. give funds for maintenance of animals, birds or reptiles).
Awesome Zoo..😍😍👍
Me and my family loved this location. My kids cant forget this location. We can find all animals lion, tiger, cheetah, elephant, monkeys, crocodile, alligator, hippopotamus, varieties of snakes, giraffe, zebras and varieties of birds from different location at one place. Never seen these kind of healthy animals in any other zoo. A vast and neat area. We have to walk around 3+ kms inside the zoo to cover the whole area.
Mysore zoo is best zoological Park in South India. Due to best weather in mysore you can see lovely animals here. Facilities are improved when compared to 2009,but still needs to be improved. You can see giraffe here. Food options are also decent. Parking is little problem, need to find better place as parking staff doesnt help properly.
It is an amazing experience. To be able to see albino peacocks and tigers, giraffes, rhinos, zebras is amazing. The cages are well kept and managed. The zoo is huge and one must spare 2-3 hours on hand to tour the entire area. One must take their kids atleast once!
It is pretty huge. And hence it is no surprise if you are exhausted by the time you exit the zoo. There are quite a variety of species. Maintainance of animal enclosures and treatment of some animals are major downs. A decent hang out place for animal lovers and photographers
One of the best and well maintained zoo in India - Mysore. Clean and tidy circumstances is giving us a better feeling. We can see many types of animals and birds. Parents can give a great experience to their childrens. There is a lots of things to watch and study for the kids.
Many animals and birds can be found here. Great time with family and friends to visit. Almost 4-5 km long zoo
Good place to visit in Mysore. Good park apart of an zoo also. We can find most of the animals birds snakes and all
Mysore zoo is an excellent place to visit. It is very well kept and very clean. A lot of animals and birds are part of the zoo and by their look, look like very well cared for. I came away impressed by the place.
It’s very cool and pleasant atmosphere with a lot of varieties of wildlife and birds. All the various parrots can be seen. The speciality of this zoo is that it has African elephant and black buck. Various types of monkeys are also seen, like chimpanzee, baboon, ring tailed monkey etc. Vehicle facility is available for elder people and those who cannot walk. Giraffes are also seen.
A must see Zoo in India. visited many other zoos of Kerala, Jaipur etc but Mysore zoo stands out in terms of its area and different types of animals. the major thing i noticed is that it provides mother and baby care centres in side the zoo in various spots, a good sign of taking care women and children. Giraffe, Kangaroo, African Elephant, Chimp, etc are easily found there. a true enjoyment for children with an Infotainment time.
Best zoo in India what I can say. Pl visit to see some animals u have never seen. The best part is- human like Ape, giraffe and rhino.
One of the best attractions of Myzore. It is a nice place to go with family. The Animals and Birds are getting good care. Beautiful arrangement.
Please do not waste your time visiting this place. As you enter you will see well maintained giraffes, this might get you excited to pursue the trip. Trust me, that is the start and the end. It is a long stretch with no animals. Few that are there are old and tired. You will have to put in a lot of effort to catch a glance of them. I made a mistake of going on a very sunny day. I was dead exhausted. Absolute waste of your money. This zoo is stupid
A must visit when in Mysore. Lots of animals to see! The zoo is well maintained with free drinking water in many places. We spent a good 5 hours, including time for a good value lunch, and reading posted descriptions of animals...let your curiosity take you to greater heights of wonderment viewing awesome creatures!
Nc place to visit special for kids. All types of international birds, animals with a special attractions of Gorilla, wolf, white peacock, etc.Entry fees on weekdays r low. Maintained good roads with cleanliness.Foods r not allowed. But, u may take if u back with empty bottles & plastic food bags.
The animals are healthy and have got clean environment. Unlike other zoos, u will enjoy this one. It looks all animals are dressed to meet u. One time must visit place for all. Try not to take e-rickshaw as u will enjoy every moment u walk around the zoo.

Mysore Zoo is very good to see for kids. There are lot of animals giraffe, African elephant, lion, tiger, jaguar, birds, snakes especially King cobra is very lengthy... But unfortunately we are not seen crocodile due to maintenance.Charge for zoo is Rs.80 for adult and Rs.40 for kids. We ride in Battery car due to many senior citizens are in our group. Battery car charge is very expensive! Since they charge Rs.180 for Adult, Rs.100 for kids& senior citizens( 1 hour)....Otherwise the maintenance are very good. Lot of RO water points available.
