‘Statue of Vivekananda’ is located just close to the famous Gateway of India, Colaba in Mumbai.It is a very nice statue of Swami Vivekananda, which stands in tribute to him. Swami Vivekananda is betterly known for introducing Hinduism to the western world and for his work in promoting interfaith understanding between all the major religions of the world.During our family trip to Mumbai, we visited to Gateway Of India; at that time we saw this Statue of Vivekananda. The statue is in betterly known pose of Swami Vivekananda, standing straight up with his arms crossed across his chest.If you are around Gateway of India then must see this statue.

This statue stands in tribute to Swami Vivekananda, the Hindu monk best known for introducing Hinduism to the western world and for his work in promoting interfaith understanding between all the major religions of the world.The statue depicts Vivekananda in probably his best known pose, standing straight up with his arms crossed across his chest. The statue is not a must see in Mumbai, but it is located next to the Gateway of India in Colaba were most of the sights of Mumbai are also located, so it’s worth a quick detour.

Swami Vivekananda expanded the Vedanta philosophy to the West and reformed Hinduism. Born on 12 January 1863 in Kolkata, he did a lot of work for the spiritual upliftment of India. He travelled to the United States to attend the Parliament of Religions in Chicago, where his speech went on to touch the hearts of people the world over.

Best known for his famous speech , Sisters and brothers of America ..., in which he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the Worlds Religions in Chicago in 1893. Well located and properly maintained in the prime area .
