Beautiful place for trekking in Thane. Best time to visit is Monsoon. If you want to visit Dargah please dont wear half downs and they dont allow girls for visit (ps you can if you are wearing kurti and scarf). Both Mama and Bhanja Dargah and view around it is beautiful. Must visit.

Mama Bhanja is a hill located in Thane West at Lokmanya Nagar.It is a prominent mountain and can be seen from anywhere. There are two hills, one is Mama Hill and the other is Bhanja Hill. Mama Hill is at the top whereas Bhanja Hill is a little lower than Mama Hill.Mama Hill is full of hard rocks At the top, there is a shed of Mama Dargah.It will take an hour of a climb for a fit average man. Pretty wide steps are made all the way to the top through the forest. During rains, there are many small streams across the steps.After climbing and reaching the top you will come across a junction from where if you turn left you will reach Bhanja Hill and turning right will take you to Mama Hill.This is Mama Hill as you can see in the photo. There is a shed at the top. That is the point which we see from the city anywhere. Whole Thane city and Mumbai can be seen in clear weather as shown above.Mama Bhanja Hills, Thane West offers a majestic view of the National Park as well as Thane CityHistory says the Mama Bhanja Hills are very old dating 400 years back.

BesT place for Trek .. maintained very well ..U will have to carry ur food and some amount of water as u wont get anything much to eat up there ..just some biscuits, chips and water bottle costs 30₹ here..

This was the first trek I ever went to and it was indeed magnificent experience. Trek is quite easy. It takes about one hour to reach on the top of the mountain. On the way, you will come across a waterfall!!It is located around 5-6km from Thane railway station. Great spot to refresh your soul during Monsoon.

I live in thane and i always thought to go mama bhanja darga but finally when i go up there i really feel bliss.Now here is most important thing if you love to walk or climb on rock(small rocks) this is the great place for you guys, you need to struggle lot to reach top but when you reach your every drop of sweat will paid off by just looking at amazing view of thane city, holly Dargha and cold breeze.P S :- dont forget to carry enough water bottle that will keep you hydrated till you reach your location.

This place is a very good for all the beginners in trekking, it will give you the glimpses of the trekking life. And the view from top is such pleasing to eyes and I am sure it will be even more beautiful during monsoon. But the starting part is filled with garbages, which can be cleaned and taken care off very well by authorities.All in all a good place to visit with beautiful view at the top and burn some calories while climbing off!

Good treaking place for beginners.But always go in groups.In day time.Some wild animals also present there such as lepoard.Carry ample amount of water as may not be available there.Also do not litter there but if possible please try to clean something on the way if found inappropriate.Best of luck. 👍🏼

Mama-Bhanja Hills one of the good for trekking in Thane West. You can start Mama Bhanja Hills trek from Hanuman Nagar, Near wagle bus depot or from Lokmanya Nagar Bus Depot. Both place have public transport facility. On the Peak of Mama Bhanja you can easily view whole Thane city till vasai creek / Kalwa khadi and back side till Tulsi lake and other hills of SGNP, Borivali. This place is good for Half day Trekking.In rainy season you will find more water during the way trek.

Best place for the people who want to keep up their trekking spirit and have no free weekends. Takes only 45 mins from base to top. So you can go in weekdays also. Very few people go there in weekdays.Anyone going to Himalayan treks must go here twice a week to test endurance. The best weather to go there is monsoon. u can see whole thana from there .

Best for one day jungle trip. Not much to explore. Can observe vast area but after 4 pm. Pollution over city sphere restrict your zoom equipment too. Best to watch black n red kites flowing freely in jungle from close distance. Beware of regular jungle fire.
