This is one of the world heritage sites in India. One of the best architecture. Phenomenal workpiece of British architecture. At heart of Mumbai. This Headquarters is located at one of the prime location in Mumbai. Many times it is lighten with beautiful lights on specific events such as Independence day or Republic day of India.

Thanks to Sandeep N Sonawane, my designation- Office superintendent, Working under SR. DPO OFFICE, SETTLEMENT SECTION, CENTRAL RAILWAY, MUMBAI CSMT for helping me & my Bade Daddy ji H. S. Sethi documents update, They stay at Mira Road due to pandemic 2 months backs we gave all documents to update pension book Bade daddy & her daughter all got covid due which they couldnt go they told me to go but I also couldnt move out as we were not allowed to travel by local trains... I came he was in charge I request on phone that we couldnt reach please help me. Let me know. I was very happy when he said, Mam from our side its update send to Canara Bank Bengaluru for update. With in few days it will be updated due to pandemic it will take bit time. When I said to didi on phone speaker was on Bade daddy ji gave a smile he is 94 plus with hands ✋✋ di said gave him & me blessing on just a call we got update PDF , God bless Sandeep & all officers they are helping people doing work sincerely at there office.

This place has its own beauty at night. The central railway headquarter building, built during the time of Britishers, when CSMT used to be called VT (short for victoria terminus) stands tall beside the CSMT railway station to glorify the beauty of the place. It has its own colours. The best time to visit is after the sun sets down.

One of the very first Railway Station of Mumbai, formally known as Victoria Terminus. This place is also registered under UNESCO World Heritage sites, and a tourist attraction. CSTM have local and outstation trains.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, formerly known as Victoria Terminus Station, in Mumbai, is an outstanding example of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture in India, blended with themes deriving from Indian traditional architecture. The building, designed by the British architect F. W. Stevens, became the symbol of Bombay as the ‘Gothic City’ and the major international mercantile port of India. The terminal was built over 10 years, starting in 1878, according to a High Victorian Gothic design based on late medieval Italian models. Its remarkable stone dome, turrets, pointed arches and eccentric ground plan are close to traditional Indian palace architecture. It is an outstanding example of the meeting of two cultures, as British architects worked with Indian craftsmen to include Indian architectural tradition and idioms thus forging a new style unique to Bombay.

Central Railway (abbreviated CR) is one of the 18 zones of Indian Railways. Its headquarters is in Mumbai at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. It has the distinction of operating first passenger railway line in India, which opened from Mumbai to Thane on 16 April 1853. This is also part of Heritage 💜💛

It is also a big tourist place. The old construction of the british years is very beautiful including the neighbouring buildings. The CST also has a museum, a small garden and losts of hotels and food places nearby.Being a hub of transport, all facilities of train, bus, taxis are available here.

One of the ironic buildings and it is UNESCO World heritage site. I like the Victorian style architecture. One of the most marvelous creation by the British. British often claim that they gave railways to india but it was just a medium of loot. They used all the secondhand railway line from london and charged Poor Indian Taxpayer a fortune. Though i like the architecture but we should not forget that what was the real cost of building the railway. They nearly over spend thrice the amount required. Anyway when ever you see this building just remember your forefathers who are the real owners of this building.

This is A UNESCO World Heritage historic Site.Magnificent building that at once stands apart from newborn clutter. Completed between 1878-1888, so it is already 125 + years old.Today it is used by about 3 millions commuters daily in hundreds of local as well as long distance intercity destinations.Unfortunately, its usage has not done any justice to its beauty.Ugly looking black large fans are fixed to many of its ornamented columns. Black colored cables run loosely hanging on the walls in contrast to the beautiful high domes.

The Headquarters are in a very locable spot. As anyone comes out of station , they get a royal and grand view of the CSMT. Best infrastructure of any headquarters in India. It is an ancient construction done by the British Government.

Do experience the heritage walk to see this beautiful structure from inside from 3 to 5 pm at CST. Entry from gate next to main building. Fees 200 Rs nly with their own guides and free tea snacks also!! Worth 200 rs and 2 hrs!!(Entry restricted till 2nd floor) Closed on Saturdays and Sundays and all public holidays!!
