I couldnt believe my ears when I was invited to order more of these delicious dishes again as part of the bottomless menu. Unfortunately my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I had to concede defeat but of course still had room for the incredible dessert to finish.I was enchanted by the first cocktail but wanted to switch to soft. The barman was so kind as to make a soft version of my tasty cocktail. I coined it the Emma. Lychee, coconut, rose water, jasmine... topped off with a rose. Not sure itll make it onto the mocktail menu but itll stay in my heart and memory for a long time. Dreamy.

Booked myself and my husband in for a bottomless brunch. They were very accommodating regarding the booking. The venue was easy to find and beautiful. Loved the decor and ambience. Going onto the food, everything was delicious however we enjoyed the starters the most. My husband wasnt too keen on the chicken thigh curry as it had too much fat on it so left it. We were very full and was unable to finish everything. We ordered some mocktails too, the pineapple one was amazing. The Chelsea garden not so much so. Overall a very beautiful experience. Quite pricey. Thank you Dev Singh. 😊

If you’re looking for a delightful, surprising yet unashamedly Indian restaurant, Kahani delivers in spades.Perfectly balanced menu options, with traditional and new dishes to put a smile on your face. Service is discreet yet attentive and helpful but not pushy. It’s a proper sit down Indian which hasn’t lost its way.. unlike some others ; which have developed identity issues…Give it a go. Chops to die for and have the broccoli.. yes I said broccoli.. you’ll remember this review and smile when you do!

I ordered food from this restaurant recently - just a simple butter chicken and the meat was completely undercooked. While the kitchen can make occasional mistakes, it’s completely unforgivable if management doesn’t even bother to acknowledge a complaining email sent privately. I live in the area, eat out a lot and have been to almost all the premium Indian restaurants in London. For the amount of money you have to spend, it’s probably better to go with the many more reliable upscale Indian options in the Sloane Square area and slightly beyond.

Was very impressed with Kahani and fully deserving of four stars - the service especially was absolutely impeccable. The restaurant would be equally suitable for a catch up between friends or a more formal client meeting - with soothing neutral tones against dark wood. The food was the real highlight of the visit though - the grilled stone bass was probably one of the most delicious Indian inspired dishes Ive ever tasted and the portions for the main on the Dawat Menu were very generous. There were only a couple of small things that we felt could have been improved:+ The scallop starter we tried was slightly undercooked and cold in the middle.+ The cocktails, while delicate and delicious, were very small and didnt feel like they had any alcohol in them at all, which was disappointing, as they werent cheap.Overall though, an excellent experience and one I would definitely recommend!

We were recommended the restaurant by a concierge by Sloane Square hotel we were staying at. He assured us we wouldn’t be disappointed. And he was right. It is a 3 mins walk from Sloane Square. It is not a typical Indian restaurant, more upscale. The menu was short, but you can find most of classic dishes. Our waiter was great and very helpful in guiding us through the menu, he was very efficient and accommodating. The quality of food was exceptional. Kahani translates as story in Urdu and the food showcases contemporary Indian small plates using seasonal and sustainable British produce. From a warm welcome to friendly service we enjoyed several dishes and the cocktails!. Starting with Samosa platter which is Punjabi aloo, kolhapuri chicken, chettinad venison, three tasty morsels of food with dipping sauces. Another starter is the Soft shell crunchy crab with Mangalorean spices, and tomato chutney, delicious. For mains we had the Guinea fowl tikka with Chettinad spices, smoked tomato sauce, Ajwain roti - tender flavourful game which went with our other dish of Kahani Butter Chicken a smooth silky curry sauce with tomato makhani and fenugreek leaves. The desserts were beautifully presented and the the Raspberry & mint cheesecake ‘melt in the middle’ just perfect as well as the Medley of kulfis – Salted caramel, Rose malai, & Pistachio cardamomGood location near Sloane Sq and the shopping area of Sloane St leading to Knightsbridge.

For a Michelin Starred chef, I was left incredibly underwhelmed. One highlight was the Lamb Nihari, apart from that, the food was average at best and nothing a home chef couldnt achieve with ease. The staff were very attentive though. They had photos of Hindu religious figures in the wine/alcohol room which was clear for customers to see. Being an avid lover of Indian food we were very much looking forward to our visit, however we were left slightly underwhelmed. We ordered 6 dishes to share and dessert (which were all served in a timely manner) but they just didn’t pack the flavour that’s promised on the website. It was nice, but not amazing. We also didn’t have the ‘fine dining’ experience which was a shame, the staff were very attentive (I cannot fault them) but the food in taste and presentation was a let-down. I ate here last night. The starters were a mixed bag - the softshell crab was great but the samosas were disappointingly dry and underseasoned. The seared scallops were very slightly undercooked and not hot enough. I would say overall the rest of the meal made up for this. The butter chicken curry I had was exceptionally tasty and my husbands lamb was also delicious and unusual. Sides were nice but £8 for a bowl of potatoes is a bit much. I absolutely loved the chocolate mousse dessert I had and particularly enjoyed the flavour of the sauce it came with. The wine list is unaffordable even in the context of the food prices. Food was okay but watch out for the outrageous RIP OFF wine prices. They deliberately hide the price of a bottle of wine separately to the cost per glass and carafe and the wine is MASSIVELY OVERPRICED. The managers attitude is the worst I have ever experienced in a restaurant in over thirty years. He was not at all interested in listening. When asked why the wine prices are so high he said they can charge what they like because this is Mayfair! Wow, what arrogant insolence! They no longer have a Michelin star for good reason. When I mentioned this to the manager, he told me the reason they no longer have a Michelin star is because they handed it back! Yeah, right! The manager and the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth and we certainly wont be going back. There are plenty of other far nicer, better run restaurants without rip off prices and without such insolent service in Mayfair...and indeed elsewhere in London. My recommendation is to avoid this restaurant and go elsewhere if you want a fine dining experience in London. I just read reviews about this restaurant serving chicken stock in Vegetrain
