Service was abysmally slow, to the point we didnt exist and with great trouble getting their attention. Took our order, starters showed up, finished a bottle wine and didnt bring the mains until we reminded them. Wasnt even busy just a few people outside. To add to this, its was overpriced for the extremely small portions. Cant rate the food, it was a disappointing visit.

I’ve read some of the reviews below and must say I can’t really understand. Wonderfully friendly staff. A fantastic extremely good value 9 course tasting menu and couldn’t fault anything. With a reputation of ‘I know what you’re like with restaurants’ and ‘ I know you’re a fussy b*stard’ I’m really impressed, full and happy. Come here for a great curry and then tell your mates.

The food was amazing, but the customer service was so appealing, that the waiter couldnt even explain the difference between 2 chicken dishes that were in the menu, other than they both came with rice. I had to ask him to be more specific, bc I could read in the menu that the dishes came with rice. Even then he couldnt really explain properly the difference of both dishes.

Review №11

Ambiance was lovely but as another reviewer mentioned, the service truly let this place down. Despite being there for 4 hours, our interaction with staff was minimal, and not in a good way. They were notably inattentive, and after removing our mains dishes, nobody came to clean our table, refill our water or ask if we wanted dessert or anything else to drink, until we finally flagged someone down to pay the bill and left. The food was okay - we recommend the samosa chaat as a starter. But overall not the most interesting or exciting Indian food around by a long shot. We also ordered cocktails and these had lost their chill by the time we received them, and we had to ask for ice.My review echoes what a colleague told me about her experience here when she heard I’d booked, so it seems to be a running theme. Hope these issues can be turned around as it’s got potential, but isn’t quite hitting the mark at the moment. Not sure if they’re understaffed, undertrained, or maybe both, but it’s management’s responsibility to rectify.

The best thing about this restaurant is the naan breads. They are insanely good. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. Fresh and full of flavour. However, if I was to come back here again, I would have to order one for myself and one for my waiter who unfortunately was running around all evening, with barely any respite due to the restaurant being understaffed. We arrived at 8pm, excited to dive into a contemporary take on a classic curry. We began our evening with a pint, and immediately ordered as we had already decided online what we wanted. 1 hour later, no update. After a polite questioning as to where our starters were, the front of house was very apologetic and ensured us that we would be served soon. 2 minutes later, our starters were there. Had they been told left on the hot plate for about 45mins? Probably. The mains weren’t much faster. They arrived 30mins later, which again was a bit disappointing. We had started the night sitting outside but as the temperature dropped over such a long time, we decided to move in. The food that arrived was cold and pretty disappointing. The lamb had potential, and was cooked well - but very overpriced. The portions were very small, and did not fill me up at all. The butter chicken was bland and tasteless, I could not tell you the difference between that and a generic packet meal.In conclusion, my 1* review comes down purely to poor management. This is not an issue with the staff. They are clearly under resourced, as the owners are focusing too much on profit margins, as opposed to providing a good customer experience. The waiters recognised the wait for the food was dreadful. They were apologetic and remorseful but they are not at fault. My quarrel is not with them. The food is far too overpriced and the portions far too stingey. I will not be returning.

This has got to be one of the worst dining experience of our entire lives as we regularly dine out as friends…. The chicken was as tough as my Nan’s slipper, the crab cakes were incinerated beyond recognition and as for the lamb saddle, it actually did resembled a real saddle.. the Pollock had been frozen and reheated and slapped in amongst unrecognisable jizz… all this for £150 ???? My boyfriend and I attended one of their soft launch nights. First up, the staff were wonderful -super friendly. One of the warmest greetings I have ever got at a restaurant! The service was a little slower toward the end, but it was a soft launch - so ironing out the kinks - I get it! The food was really good, and it was lovely to see the open kitchens. My main wasnt my favourite (I had the pollock), but that may have been because I had food envy of my boyfriends steak which was amazing! Overall a really lovely evening and in pretty cool location to boot!

Went for the 9 course sharing menu, really good value for what you get and the food was delicious. The first half of the menu came out in good time, but then had to wait over 30 minutes for anything else to come out. The restaurant so unbelievably hot everyone was fanning themselves down with menus, we had to leave for air multiple times. Another 10 minutes later and the air con units start gushing water all over the restaurant, at this point we just wanted to leave so got the rest of the food to take away. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, however the maitre d was uninspiring, he should try smiling a bit. Would consider coming back as the food was great.

I dined at the restaurant with a friend on 8 October. We had been looking forward to the meal because of the reputation and history of the restaurant/owners but sadly we were both disappointed by the experience. Despite the lack of poppadoms and pickles (they dont serve them), the starters were relatively tasty but it was the mains that really fell short of the mark. I had the mini aubergine curry and my friend had the paneer curry. Both were desperately lacking in flavour and the aubergine dish in particular was more like a stew than a curry. I requested some pickles to try and liven up my meal but was given a sweet tomato chutney instead. I was also annoyed by the tiny portion of rice that was served with my curry as it was not even close to being enough. I asked our waitress for a bit of extra rice but she forgot about it and my meal was cold before it eventually arrived. I was really surprised that this prestigious restaurant would serve us two overpriced and ultimately disappointing meals but, unfortunately, that was the case. Not impressed.

I was super excited to try Cinnamon Kitchen after seeing it on masterchef, the food looked beautiful. Unfortunately our visit was a massive letdown! We were sat for 20 minutes before anyone came to our table, at which point I asked a server for the eat out to help out menu. He looked extremely irritated, then got the menu, still didn’t take a drinks order and proceeded to flit around our table, serving people who had arrived long after us, wiping tables etc for another 30 minutes. We finally got the attention of another waiter to take our drinks order. They came prompt enough, and the starters were lovely but the main (aubergine) was tasteless and disappointing, with hard rice. The creme brûlée pudding was meh. Won’t be back or recommending to anyone! Shame

Review №53

This is a review of their weekend lunch menu. The restaurant is an attractive space within brick railway arches, and its a significant investment and a welcome addition to the new Battersea Power Station redevelopment. I really wanted to like this place, but the service, drinks and food all disappointed in some way (some of which may be teething issues, to give them the benefit of the doubt)The cocktails are needlessly gimmicky - the Manhattan contains tea, which only adds a bitter taste, the Mezcal drink is served in two separate cups that you take alternating sips from, the G&T boasts tropical flavours but uses a non-brand “infused” Gin and has no garnishes except for a wedge of lime.Theyre still new so the service was patchy as expected - long period where nobody came to our table, inadequate explanations of the menu etc.The starters were the highlight of the meal - especially the Samosa Chaat. My main was very disappointing, a somewhat soggy piece of Pollock served on a bed of bland yellow daal. The dinner menu might be different, but at lunch time this place punches below Masala Zone.

I went to Cinnamon Kitchen during the opening week and the 50% off offer so the restaurant was fully packed and we had to wait 5 minutes for our table to be ready which wasnt that bad considering the number of people in the restaurant. For appetisers we ordered the lamb fillet which was phenomenal; the bream ceviche which was ok and the cauliflower and was surprisingly good - so that was a good start and were looking forward to having our main courses. We waited for around 30 minutes and still not main course so I asked the manager about i and he kindly went to check for us; apparently they ran out of Kale Kofta and that was the delayed so he apologised and brought us two glasses of champagne; which I thought was a good wait to apologise; when the food finally arrived, we were glad we waited for the Kale Kofta as it was delicious; we also had the tandoori chicken and was good but we have had better in other restaurants so it was a mixed main course. Now for puddings, we had the lassi panna cotta (outstanding) and the sticky toffee pudding (good). Our waiter was a bit nervous and slow so we assumed it was his first job; the manager on the other hand (I forgot his name but he is from Budapest) was excellent, friendly and attentive so overall it was good experience and we will coming back soon.

If they know they are not going to have a table for an hour they should just say so at the beginning. Very limited vegetarian options to eat from. Kadhai paneer was great but I doubt I will be going back here again without the 50% deal on at the moment. I have been to the cinnamon kitchen in Liverpool street which was much better, had more choice for vegetarians and had a more formal ambience.

We opted for the 9 course sharing menu and the food was absolutely sublime; loads of variety, really tasty, great quantities and good value - we were more than satisfied with the food! However, the same cant be said for the service. When taking our order our waiter attempted to rush off without even asking if we wanted to order drinks or offering us water (bearing in mind it was over 30 degrees still outside). It then took two subsequent requests for our wine to arrive by which point the 2nd course was already on the table. We were also sat next to the till with which in principal, I have no grievance, but finished plates (with leftover food) were left next to the till from another table when we were eating which isnt appetising at all. And probably most importantly, although the waitstaff were wearing visors/masks when serving customers, when they were then at the till (closer to us than we were to each other across the table) some would raise their visors, completely defeating the point of wearing them in the first place.Judging by the other reviews we seem to have had an abnormal experience of the service, but despite the genuinely delicious food, I doubt well be rushing back.

Then to finish, a fine white chocolate creme brûlée that a French restaurant would be proud of. This is Indian served Tapas style, and the tasting menu is the way to go. As the dishes are very different from other Indian places navigating the menu is pot luck. But the tasting menu was a great way to discover the food on offer. There were moments when we thought there wasnt going to be enough food, but were pleasantly surprised by the end of the meal. The portion sizes varied massively from dish to dish, and dishes like the curry were small while others which you would normally think of as a starter were large. I have made the mistake of ordering 3 times from Cinnamon Kitchen. Twice pre lockdown and once today. I suppose I should have learnt from previous experiences. On every occasion the food has arrived over an hour later bearing in mind that I have placed an order at least 3 hours prior to the designated delivery time. The food arrives cold and unpalatable. Today when I called to complain about late delivery I was told to raise the issue with Supper who are the delivery company. This is totally unacceptable as I placed the order through Cinnamon kitchen website which took me directly to Supper that I assume is their preferred delivery company. This kind of service in London is pretty poor considering that there are plenty of other restaurants serving great food that you can order from and that it at least arrives!

Still, they would have known that and they were vastly under prepared.Arrived at 9pm and had second to last course at midnight. So ridiculously slow.. cocktails were very poor, service was slow but panic stricken. They ran out of tequila for my cocktail, so the tattoo covered barmen came back and asked me to choose something else, huffing that I was taking too long to choose something..Food was very tasty and unique when I did arrive.
