The only possible complaint is that it doesn’t seem to have been redecorated since the 1980s so the interior is faded, and maybe even a bit shabby. However the quality of the food food is really exceptional, as is the quality of the wine. The price is actually quite reasonable for the standard of the meal and the service is both very quick and very personal. Highly recommended!

This is a fabulous little surprise, with an all-French team. I have loved the pencil written menu featuring a few dishes, with a lot of character and awesome flavours. The chef is seriously talented and the dishes are well balanced with high quality ingredients. They have a lovely collection of wines to pair your meal with. The chocolate mousse is a revelation.

Her doubts were quickly gone as we had the most lovely day. From the service to drinks and food it was absolutely fantastic. We all had different courses and no one was disappointed, from my 8 year old daughter and 12 year old son to my 74 year old dad, everyone where so happy. The service was so nice and the owner explained the food, origins of the dishes etc etc.If you not been you have to go!

Visited with my daughter and son-in-law - the whole experience was just lovely. We were welcomed into a small, intimate restaurant and the host was friendly, helpful and cheery. The food was fantastic, service professional yet homely and we couldnt fault any aspect of the evening. We all left feeling uplifted and very full!! It was a first but definitely not a last visit to this little gem of a restaurant!

This was like being transported back to France in 1980! Places that are now increasingly rare in France itself, serving proper cooking without a hint of pretension. Really enjoyed the fish soup, the magret de canard, and a tarte tatin that had fallen to pieces, but which tasted delicious. Great place.

Really delicious, rich, salty French bistro food. Very knowledgeable and friendly service - the Parisian waiter is also the chef and, I think, the owner! The decor is dated, but the food makes you forget that. A unique experience in London (although common in Paris, Im told!)

This place is simply great. Its genuine French food in a genuine French setting. The quality of the food is excellent and the ambience is perfect. Some reviews have been critical of the service and decor, which I promise you dont need to be worried by. The service is perfectly polite and efficient, and the decor is unapologetically French. The fact this is currently under 4 stars is a travesty and those that left any lower dont understand what this place is trying to do.

A real hidden gem of a restaurant. If you like French food, you must try this place out. Or if you like food, really.Staff: theyre all French so yes, they do come across as a bit rude, but they mean well. JC (the waiter) has lived a very interesting life including appearances on British national TV and he wont shy away from telling you them.Food: we had: fish soup, bread with the best butter Ive ever had, rib eye steak and a rabbit leg. All were really good. The steak was actually medium rare and not the British definition, which is somewhere between medium and well done.Definitely would recommend.

Whether it was because we were two women and in our 70s or because we were there using tastecard, the proprietor was unbelievably rude from the moment we entered his restaurant, even slamming down the plates of food in front of us. His behavior towards his other customers appeared however to be quite courteous. While the food itself was good, it was not exceptional and there are many bistros which cost a fraction as much where the food is not that dissimilar.

The decor needs updating and the Maitre D seems quite miserable with his life BUT the food is excellent. That is probably why this restaurant survives. We had an excellent pate, and an avocado dish to start, we both had the most wonderful rack of lamb, served with perfect vegetables (the roast potatoes were fantastic) and the chocolate mousse was exactly as it should be. They need to invest in new champagne glasses - we have moved on from the type you can hire from Majestic - but the actual champagne was lovely and chilled to perfection. So, with a bit of investment in decor and table furniture (the flowers werent real - OUCH!) and with a Maitre D who can remember how special his restaurant really is, this place could easily have got 5 stars.
