A delightful Italian caffe with seating in a quiet paved square lined with trees and planters.Charming staff who can’t do enough for you. A constant stream of customers both sitting in/out and also takeaway. Best cappuccino Ive had in a long time, good temperature. If I didn’t live so far away I’d be here regularly. It’s a 5* for food hygiene too. Recommended.
Been wanting to pop in for a coffee for a couple of years as I cycled past but only just made it! Not disappointed great service and an easy street vibe. Will go back for a breakfast next I think.
A lovely convenient rest stop, with great coffee and service.
So grateful to have this in the neighborhood! Food is nice, portions are great and they are very kind and attentive. Long life Vesuvio Cafe!
Staff very polite, she took time to speak with her customers and sone regulars she knew exactly what they wanted. Great to see and get that personal treatment. Love that place.
Nice friendly local Italian coffee away from the hubbub of the river walk and Narrow Street just a few meters away. Really good coffee thats not from a chain. Great that its open for takeaway at the moment but even better that it will be open for outdoor dining from the 12/4 as covid restrictions lift. Tasty pasta and great pizza. Hearty sandwiches and salads. Love eating here and wish it was open later in the evenings! Great friendly staff.
Always a pleasure to visit here! Such a lovely, friendly vibe and the food is beautifully home made too. Highly recommend a visit if youre around the Limehouse area - best all day English breakfast weve had in a long time!
Lovely little cafe in a great location a stones throw from the river. Good options of paninis, sandwiches etc and also italian dishes such as lasagne etc. (although yet to try them). Sandwiches and paninis are very good, fair price and good quality. Definitely worth a visit if in the area or passing by. Friendly staff too.
With so many positive reviews, mine will soon be lost. Quite right! I visited Saturday morning in early June for scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, £5. It was sunny and the location could not be better - a quiet open air area between Canary Wharf and Limehouse.2 pieces of white sliced bread and the scrambled eggs were too dry for me! I would prefer one slice of lightly toasted brown bread and eggs cooked by frying them and then stirred with a plastic spatula to mix them up. Dont over cook. More than a few seconds in a hot pan can make them dry. Heap the eggs, salmon and perhaps a wee bit of rocket salad next to the toast so the customer can butter the toast (or not). The waitress said she would tell the chef but the chef didnt appear. So my feedback is here!
Lovely coffee shop with breakfast facility and outdoor seatung area.
Small, friendly independent café. Good range of tasty italian signature dishes like Lasagne and Cannelloni. Outdoor seating in a pleasant square. Indoor space limited.
Really lovely cafe, sit out in the square if the weathers nice, youll feel like youre in the South of France! Great coffee and food, quick service and decent prices.
Friendly service. Highly recommend 👌
Lovely little spot around Limehouse Marina, great selection of authentic Italian dishes, I definitely recommend their Arancini Siciliani with the salad in particular.
Friendly cafe, good food, lots of space with nice outside seating
Great coffee here, nice outdoors area on quiet street.
Very Friendly lovely location and brilliant prices. Great menu.
Lovely ricotta pasta, tasted homemade, good service, it was a little too salty, and the aubergine dish was a bit bitter but otherwise tasty
Super friendly staff and great value.
Small friendly family-run Italian cafe/bistro. Lovely coffee!
Very nice place to have a good coffee .And good service 👍
Great Food, reasonably priced, polite staff, great location!
Nice fresh menu with Italian home made specials. Family environment and beautiful terrace to seat and relax.
After reading earlier reviews regarding the Vesuvio, we were not disappointed. Tucked away, the friendly staff cooked a delicious full english breakfast for us that was delicious, very filling and excellent value. We highly recommend a trip if youre nearby and dont want to be ripped off by the usual restaurant chains, for an inferior meal.
I love Vesuvio Cafe. The madam put a lot of love making my chicken scalope Panini and it was so good with fresh ingredients. I will came back to try other things from the menu as it looks great
Really pleasant outdoor space and very nice staff
Just picked up an outstanding latte and tiramasu! Perfect for a takeaway treat sitting by the Thames
This is our local café and - surprisingly - it is only the second time I try it. There will be many more. We had breakfast - a builder’s breakfast and a breakfast panini - and it was just delicious. Portions abundant and everything served with a smile, in addition to very reasonable prices. The coffee was also very nice. Lunch time menus also look nice. It’s basics, but total value for money. We’ll be back tomorrow!
Lovely small cafe in Limehouse with an outdoor seating area. They have some tasty Italian dishes on their lunch menu. Perfect place for a weekend brunch, especially in summers. They have an outdoor seating area. At present due to covid restrictions they are only offering takeaway for food and coffee and some lovely cakes as well
Vesuvio Cafe has the most lovely italian homemade food I have eaten in London. It is also vegetarian friendly apart from offering non-vegetarian dishes.Love the salads, special day dishes and the coffee. Also the open space to sit and dine in makes it pleasant for spending some hours working there too, plus the Thames river is just 3 min away walking.
Cant wait to go back! 😊
Lovely little local gem
Fantastic experience in this Italian cafe, I had an amazing lasagna for my lunch break, with a very good Italian coffee. You can either enjoy your meal sitting at the table or take it away!Highly recommended
Stop here this afternoon before a business meeting. Real Italian coffee, vast variety of snacks and beverages. All staff is very pleasant and polite. Next time I will try the pasta dishes :)
Delicious food, prompt and friendly staff. The location is a perfect quiet niche. We will be back!
I used to attend this cafe weekly for authentic italian food. Today I returned and was really disappointed in the food. The stone baked authentic italian pizza has been replaced with an Iceland type kids pizza. Staff are friendly but food real disappointing. Real sad to see the change...does anyone know where the previous owners went.
Nice family managed Italian café. Coffees and desserts are delicious. In a sunny day its so nice to sit outside.
Good cafe with Italian food
Arrived here at 10am on a Sunday morning. They were just opening up, 80s power ballads playing on their stereo. Food being prepared.Purple shamrock flowers outside their entrance beckoning people to come in.I ordered by full English breakfast to takeaway but I stayed for the feels.Good people, cosy food.
This seems like a truly local cafe that has a smile on its face. Lovely value for money home made food in a clean friendly atmosphere and environment. A little gem
Great home cooked food and a lovely staff. Service was excellent. I recommend this place!
Fantastic little coffee shop. Ill go out of my way to visit here before my Thames walk.
Good breakfast at a good price, convenient for weekend photography trip to canary wharf
A cute café with really nice tables outside in a little square. The staff was really friendly as well!
Were quite local and have been here many times over the years. Great prices and decent food, a nice change from the chains around the corner in Canary Wharf.
Ordered a sandwich, brought 20 minutes late and just slightly similar to what I did order. Egg (soft), bacon, cheese in white bread no toasted sandwich, came as overcooked scrambled egg, hard as a sole bacon (honestly, cooked in the boiling heart of the vesuvio, the volcano itself), and chees in a overtoasted thin bread sandwich.Running late with no time to complain, ate it, ask for the bill, and 10 minutes later came with a faulty card machine (ok this things happens, no ones fault). But the waiter telling me dont go anywhere like Id run away without paying, made me feel very uncomfortable. After another 5 minutes, I had to go inside to see if I could pay and go for good.Ok, I know, first world problems, but this is the experience I had in this Cafe. Hope theyll improve this for the next egg and beaky sandwich costumer.A good thing; the very polite and friendly young girl serving the tables outside. 10/10
I used to work close by and visit regularly, since moving on I still take every opportunity to return. Good food and good service. Its especially nice in the summer months when you can sit outside.
Nice mocha and chocolate drink. Very relaxing setup of the cafe
I like the place,it serve good food, they now have tables outside so can seat down, 4 stars becouse it was a bit of long wait for my dish and waitress seamed to be struggling with the service a little. But will definitely came back.
Nice place to unwind and enjoy.
Beautiful place , the food is amazing very tasty, beautiful people too , happy people and very helpful 🌞 . Very welcoming Italian place . I’m super happy I met them today super happyThank u so much 🙏🏻😀😀
Good food, great staff
Great little place with friendly staff !
Pleasant, good value nice staff, very clean
Beautiful food and fantastic daily specials. Love this little cafe!!
Fantastic little place, lovely food, friendly staff and good value
Lovely people and delicious food
This cafe is under new ownership. It remains an Italian Caffe and the menu has many of the same items. However there are now homemade pasta dishes with different daily special dishes. They also have new Italian gelato and Italian cakes such as Crostata Limone, Tiramisu, and a Vegan Chocolate and Coconut cake. Give it a try. It is also now open 7 days a week, Inc from 10am to 4pm on Sundsys.
Very nice small Italian cafe. A real find. Good quality food at very reasonable prices. Wonderful breakfast sandwiches and spaghetti/pasta dishes. Nice people. Highly recommended.
The restaurant doesnt have the credentials to be a varsity athlete
Had a very good breakfast Panini here. Really good value for money. Service good.
Absolutely love this place. A hidden East London gem. Lovely atmosphere. Great food. Great value. Lovely staff. Perhaps my all time favourite London cafe. *****
Great tasty food at fab prices. Been there a few times and never been disappointed. It opens Monday to Saturday till 6pm which works well for me.....
The staff were lovely, but the food wasn’t very nice. Most (if not all) was microwaved and you could really tell, as it was uncomfortably hot and very dry. A Full English was two bacon, one sausage, one egg, a hash brown, mushrooms and beans; not bad for £5 but the poor quality of each didn’t make it worth it. Coffee was amazing though. Wouldn’t come back, sorry!
The best Italian coffee/food place Ive been to. Been going there for many years now and staff have always been Very friendly and Polite. 100% recommend it to anyone who likes the good vibes and a calm, relaxed atmosphere.
Proper breakfast in a lovely old school cafe, a hidden gem on the edge of Canary Wharf. Five minutes from the ferry. Highly recommended
Great place for breakfast. Fast friendly service. Had the cheese and onion omelette and it comes with a lovely fresh salad. Highly recommended 😁
Lovely place with very friendly and accommodating staff. We very much enjoyed our coffees and cakes and will be back soon. Highly recommended
Friendly cafe with a wide choice of food. Good coffee and the scrambled eggs on toast were excellent. I have as even offered freshly ground black pepper. Will certainly return. It was very pleasant sitting at the outside tables.
I really, really want to like and recommend this cafe but unfortunately cannot. Whenever I’ve popped in for a takeaway baguette the baguette has been dry, no salad is given and it is very expensive for skimpy portions. My baguette today was actually burnt!Other food may be good but would not recommend for sandwiches.
Slightly off the beaten track but worth going out of your way. Do a full English breakfast for £5 which is unheard of for Canary Wharf. Have an extensive menu with everything freshly prepared. Staff are all very attentive. They did make a mistake when I was last there but offered free drinks as compensation. Not a huge place so tables spill out onto the forecourt during the summer. Happily return when in the area and want to support a local business instead of a chain.
I have been to this lovely friendly restaurant a few times now & always have a great time. The food is amazing and the staff are friendly and professional. I recommend this small Italian restaurant/ cafe to everyone....thank you for a wonderful slice of Italy in a hidden area of a very busy working district.Susan
Fantastic! The Chicken Escalope & Avacodo is one of the best meals I have had anywhere. I have it every week.We also had ice cream milkshakes, one coconut and one pistachio which were brilliant.Really recommend it, food great, staff great. Love it.
Ive been eating here for years and I cannot compliment the food enough. Everything Ive ever chosen from the menu has been so tasty. Staff are very friendly too
Brilliant local café, just off the wharf. Very reasonably priced, lovely food - something for everyone and great prices. Staff couldnt be nicer! We love it here.
Delicious food, friendly service
I enjoyed the food, delicious veg lasagna and the best chicken escalope with salad
Excellent coffee. Kind staff.
Always good quality food with good service. Highly recommend
Its such an amazing place. The food is delicious. Friendly atmosphere and brilliant staffs. I do recommend Vesuvio Cafe!!!
Lovely Italian coffee with British breakfast and many other options of sandwiches all over the day
Very pleasant meal. Lovely outside eating area in the sunshine.
Nice, cosy place tucked away in a quiet square round the corner from Westferry Circus. Food is good, coffee too, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Coffee and cappuccino are good really Italian style. Owner is Italian. Prices are comparatively low for London standard.Service is friendly and quick.
Once use to be a good cafe with fresh food and snacks....but VERY DISAPPOINTED NOW! Avoid at any cost! Latte not even a coffee, something lukewarm and week as if its an instant coffee, on top there was no skinny milk. The young guy very arrogant and a lady hardly speak English made a white coffee instead of tea! So have to make few trips to correct and to remind about hot chocolate drink which was almost cold, Nor sugar or napkins provided, AND almond croissant with a cake was about two days old! Did not even eat and we left. Did mentioned to unhappy guys behind the counter regarding stale croissant to which he replied you are welcome :( Never Again!!!
Pleasant, chilled atmosphere with good service.
Lovely place great staff outdoor seating .Good food
Nice coffee and family atmosphere on Saturday morning.
