Best Chinese Ive had in a long long time. Everything was perfect. Staff super attentive and quick. AND, VFM was decent. 6 of us ordered practically every starter, 4 mains, rice & noodles, 4 beers each, £60. Perfectly reasonable IMO.
The food was plain Westernized Chinese food. They seated me right next to the door where the wind was blowing smoke from smokers in front of the restaurant right into my face and food. There were several seats away from the door but they were “reserved.” No one arrived for the seats in the “reservation” 🙄
Excellent service offered at this restaurant! None of our orders were mistaken, waiters and other servers were consistently checking in on us, and it felt like we were never waiting for any food- it just kept on coming!I definitely recommend eating in the downstairs room as you are segregated from the traffic coming into the restaurant from the main street. This certainly made it a pleasant experience for us.I enjoyed the sea bass and the chicken with black bean specifically, however I did think many main dishes weren’t tasty enough for me to put 5 stars above- I’d say that the food was average, but definitely a step up from your typical fast, family Chinese diners.
What a great restaurant, its very peaceful and quiet, the service is amazing and quick, the food is tasty. Its so calm, you can actually hear what your friends are saying at the table. There is no annoying background music either. But I have to give 4 stars because it is very expensive. If you dont mind the price, I would definitely recommend you visit for an amazing experience. Given the coronavirus, they do a well timed takeaway service and the food still tastes great and well packed.
The Good Earth is possibly the best Chinese restaurant in London. The food is excellent. Ive eaten there numerous times in the past 20 years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.
Had a great experience here with my kids. The food was served quickly and the service is just good. Prices are affordable.
As always, the best shredded duck outside of China. Ive been here hundreds of times and it never disappoints
Very well prepared and tasty food. Good attentive service from the waiters. Easy to park on a Sat evening.
Amazing food, service is always with a smile, regular haunt for us, we cant stay away!
After 4 days wandering around London we were exhausted and didnt want to stray too far from our hotel so we ended up at the Good Earth Chinese Restaurant which was right around the corner from our hotel. We started with won ton soup which had a very nice broth, tasty veggies and great won ton. We then ordered the Tangerine Chicken and Orange Shrimp, both dishes were very nicely prepared and had nice flavor profiles. I also enjoyed a decent glass of wine with my meal. The servers were very nice as was the food. The next time we are in London and have a hankering for some Chinese food we will stop by Good Earth for a great meal.
Ive been eating at the Good Earth for the last 40 years. Its a classy place, thisbis not Queensway or China Town. This is Knightsbridge and the food is good, it always has and it always will be and I cant wait to visit again next time Im in London. Simply Awesome
Absolutely amazing place, the food was exquisite, the staff were wonderful and the setting was perfect.I cant rate the good earth high enough, thank you for making an unforgettable evening.
Wow amazing food great service yeah defo worth the money 💰 ... the ribs and Singapore noodle was luch ....
Food was absolutely delicious though heavy handed on the salt. We were vacationing London (from Canada) and our kids really missed Chinese food so this definitely hit the spot! The menu is extensive but quite pricey considering the small portion sizes. The décor was nice however the table situated in a “wall cave” (where we were seated at) was weird and difficult to maneuver around especially when our kids needed to visit the washrooms. Service was great – the waiters were friendly and genuinely interested when asking us questions about our home country and our time in London.
Too many people too long waiting but nice stuff
Absolutely the best Chinese I have ever been in...the food is delishious, staff are so nice.....I will be back soon
I think this is the best Chinese restaurant in knightsbridge. Even way better than the one opened recently in harrods. You can just tell it is a good place judging by most of the costumers were Chinese. Food tastes authentic and good portion for sharing. They serve dim sum during lunch not for dinner.
Absolutely loved the food here. Prices a bit pricey compared to your local Chinese however the food is of a high calibre so well worth it.
Great service and good food. 👌
The food is Good, but it costs the Earth and the staff xlean up around you whilst you are eating.
Very good Chinese food.
Was longing for good authentic Chinese food with great customer service after few years of absence due to travel and work. And the the restaurant that came to our mind was the good earth and I’m delighted to say that they haven’t lost the touch!Amazing food, drinks and above all five star customer service!Loved it.
Great place, consistently good food, friendly staff. I feel happy every time I go. Well done!
I do love this restaurant.Naturally we have had takeaways recently and its as good as eating in the restaurant except my duck wasnt shredded up hmmm Ill have to have a word about that.Caroline from Kensington
Always good, can’t beat them in Knightsbridge. We have residence just around the corner so we’re personal and corporate visitors of this restaurant as I consider it a local, so a little biased.... 😆 would highly recommend this Chinese for best of its kind in the neighbourhood.
The food and service was excellent. You can tell that the pancakes that they bring with the roast duck are hand made, as compared to the mass produced ones you get at most other Chinese restaurants.
Great food and good service. The prawn toast was a highlight! Excellent vegetarian and vegan options too.
Good food. I dont like Chinese food normally its very sweet and the favalours are not delicate. But this place does a great job of blending different ingredients together and I must say I actually enjoyed it. The staff are very attentive and constantly filling up your water glass etc which is good to see. You dont have to ask for anything more, they usually will have figured out what you need and have already brought it over for you
The set menu here is out of this world and I love it. Great Chinese food even though it is a little expensive.
We went to the Brompton Road restaurant yesterday before a show at the Royal Albert Hall. Booked a table online in advance. The food and service was brilliant! Clearly not a busy time of the day for them, but that suited us perfectly! We really enjoyed the food - starters, duck, mains and desserts we went all out! The beef in black bean was lovely and they advised us how much rice and duck we would need between 4 people. Would recommend 👍
Possibly my favourite Chinese restaurant in London - great with family, great takeaway
Great food, great service and nice ambience. We (my wife, daughter and I) had the set dinner menu, and the quality was fantastic! The Peking Duck was a high point of the dinner, as was the beef cooked at our table. The coffee served after the meal was also very good. The staff was attentive and efficient. The interior is also worth a look. Highly recommended!
Consistently excellent. My favourite chinese, even if a bit expensive.
Would highly recommend this restaurant! My family and I eat there often and always enjoy. The lobster with spring onions and noodles is exceptional and their main courses and desserts do not disappoint. A lovely place to sit and take out of town guests. Food is always consistently good and the staff very kind and helpful.
We love this place. Once you have managed to find parking its all uphill from there. Great food with friendly staff, this is a regular haunt for us when we fancy a nice Chinese meal.
Excellent.food ,superb.quality and good and.friendly service .We will return again and again.
Great food efficient service. Tastier than the average back street Chinese restaurant and a bit more expensive but it’s a posh area and the decor is good with comfortable seating. Would certainly return after a Museum visit!
Wow. This Chinese restaurant has to be my favourite in the UK. After ordering and eating there for around 6 years, not once have I been disappointed. The food is excellent - when delivered to my house, it is still very hot, with clean and sophisticated packaging. Also, a note to vegans/vegetarians, they have a whole section of tofu which is absolutely delicious!!! 100% would recommend to everyone. Always a good choice. Thank you :)
Great Good...
Still is my favourite Chinese restaurant for the last 30 years.
The best. Our favourite for 30 years
My family and I came here for a celebration and we must say that we were not too impressed! The fresh lobster noodles were very small in portion and not much meat on the lobster itself, and the other dishes were very slow to be served. All the dishes were extremely overpriced in comparison to the size. We had high expectations for this restaurant as the reviews were brilliant, but we wont be coming back again.
If youre looking for authentic Ma Po Tofu, then this is not the place. It was a bit like tofu in cream of mushroom soup and not the least bit spicy. Im sure there are other good options, but this is not the place for Sichuan.
Still one of the best Chinese dining experiences in the area.
Food adequate, nothing special as some reviews suggests otherwise. Service okay, the manager I think he was, was a bit edgee moody. Not a single smile anywhere, come on wheres The Service with a smile. They also charge 12.5% service on top. Ridiculous for this restaurant, will not be returning as our company have weekly lunch/dinner meetings in the Brompton area.
Excellent, best Chinese restaurant in London in my opinion. Ive been going to it for years and its consistently great food and service.
Nice food. Good price !
Good food
Used to take clients here when we go to RAH. food is good. however, today come at weekend. shocked by the bad service. firstly they open late as they advertised time. lucky it is not a raining day when you have to stand outside. secondly despite we booked, the people without booking straight way get better table. when we ask to change table they refused. needleless to say we walk away. this is not a restaurant for you when you have a special day or just want to be treated reasonably. We then went around corner to an Italian restaurant, superb service and super food. once you walk into the door you feel welcomed.
Really good restaurant. The Service is quick and efficient.Great food though.I go very often.Dim Sums are super good.Lots of good options.
Ordered through deliveroo, paid £18 for satay chicken and rice, the chicken was not edible and the rice was dry too. asked for the meal to be replaced as would be impossible to eat like this, I was told no, I received it so I have to have it!!!! couldnt eat it so that a waste of £18 , AVOID food is disgusting and service is even worse
Excellent Chinese dining in Knightsbridge at reasonable prices. Ask for the sweet and sour prawns which is mouth watering
My favourite Chinese restaurant in the mid-price range. Good comfort food and excellent service. Only downside is that it is a touch overpriced.
Service is super fast and efficient. Staff is nice and accommodating. Prices are a bit up there for a Chinese restaurant but its definitely worth it. Food was great.
This is a very nice Chinese restaurant in the heart of London. Because it is in London the prices are quite high but the food that is produced is exquisite. There are, I believe, 3 in London. I would recommend this if you are wanting to go out for a nice meal with your family or friends.
Honey glazed ribs were just above average. Aromatic duck is fair. Looking at the great service, I expected better. Vegetables were not equally cut and some were too thick to be wrapped in that thin pancake. Duck had no salt and I had difficulty in finding the aromatic part. Not to come again.
This one is a bit tricky; the eat in food is excellent but the quality of the food delivered is just average. Service, once you get past the unwelcoming maitre d’, is fantastic. Dining upstairs is much more pleasant but the lower level is still fine. I’m not sure if their supplier of chicken has changed but the taste of their chicken in several of their dishes is unpleasant lately.
Staple and reliable western style Chinese - good for lunch or dinner for your overseas friends and equally for your grandma. Love it.
Nice food, good service well presented but nothing special to justify the high price other than the location
Great food and atmosphere. The downstairs part is actually the finest. High End looking. Great service and quality. Bit pricey but worth it. Especially the duck.
Food very good, prices fairly reasonable. Would have got 5 stars but staff are somewhat surly.
Great no frills Chinese restaurant. Went to this because Chai wu closed early and couldnt get an early enough reservation for dinner at a couple of other restaurants and they didnt disappoint. Great service and tasty food. My partner cleaned his plate after saying he wasnt a fan of Chinese food!
Really nice food and service make a change from the rest .
Been going to this restaurant for the last 16 years. Went the other day and i couldnt believe how bad the service and food was. Had to ask to order drinks after waiting at the table upon arrival (10-15 minutes wait) and the service for the rest of the night was appalling. Ordered the food which was cold (had to get it sent back to warm up) and in general seriously average. They must of changed owners or something. I would of recommended this restaurant to anyone, but not anymore.
The better of the Good Earth chain. Great food, great service. OK slightly pricey compared your normal Chinese but who wants normal.
There are better Chinese restaurants one could go to for the service / price you pay.
The food is nothing special, too much MSG and the cutlery was absolutely filthy. And the bathroom was disgusting situation.A Dai Pai Dong would have a better hygiene level.Would not recommend.Much better restaurants in the area.
Best Chinese restaurant in all of london. The duck is to die for and the sweet and sour chicken is fantastic
Excellent food and service. Definitely recommend
Excellent experienceWe had aromatic duck, beef in xo sauce, lamb on skewers, and all of them tasted so nice. Excellent customer service and very good environment for a meal. Will definitely come again and recommend to my friends
The food here was superb, its a pricey restaurant but the food is quite spectacular and the service is alright so Id definitely recommend it!
Food wasn’t great. Bad service and an “okay” atmosphere. Waiters and waitresses are aggressive and emotionless and very unwelcoming. The “manager” or whatever he was, was very rude, we were new here but sure. It was like he was mad at us for ordering food? I’m very uncomfortable tbh.
Great food. Musts to have are: Sesame prawn toast, chicken and chive dumplings, dragon whiskers prawn and Singapore noodles. Service is greatP.S.: Duck is great too
Avoid it. Food is very average for a Chinese restaurant and very expensive (paying for the area). Go and eat somewhere else (Great choice in the area) or go to China town for good Chinese.
Absolutely rip off and very very poor quality.
Love the gluten free menu, great job !!
Trusty Chinese restaurant with good food and so so atmosphere as it is very open-floor planning downstairs. Service is always dependable and polite and correct.
Long-established Chinese restaurant with classic and modern dishes in a simple, traditional setting.
Great service, tasty food, good atmosphere
Beautiful
Tasty. Great service. A bit pricey, but worth every bite. Place was full so I ate at bar. Call ahead - theyre busy, with good reason.
Waiter told us that it is a 25 pound minimum per person after we ordered and basically told us to leave......maybe it is because we are american? We just wanted a drink and a small plate as a snack. Definitely telling our friends and family not to go here. It is such a pitty.
Great menu, nice staff, prices correct for the location. We recommend this restaurant.
Excellent chinese with a number of very good lunch choices and priced very reasonably. Great food and value.
The food is amazing and the staff are so lovely and professional
Great service, environment and food. Will definitely come back. Very authentic Chinese food.
